I bought this to learn more about Australia. Instead it is full of far-left slanting political agenda (especially at the beginning. I stopped reading after 70 or so pages). Not once or twice but every other page has heavy proselytizing and bias. Only information that can be trusted is the numbers and facts - stuff about culture, history etc. is more like a political lecture.

Even when I agree politically, that's not what the book should be about. The authors obviously can't keep their opinions to themselves. They have no credibility.

I was hoping to learn more about Australia's many islands and the famed Australia Zoo (founded by Steve Irwin); this book gave little to no info about these 2 topics. In fact, Australia Zoo is not even talked about at all, save for being mentioned just once, as one of the attractions in Queensland. No info about it nor details on how to get there. Neither are the renowned quokkas of Rottnest Island even brought up at all. Instead, the first few chapters were all about Australia's history, culture, people, etc. I thought this was a travel guide, not a history book.

Great and interesting book with lots of high quality photographs (I added a few more places to see on my list for Australia). However, the edition I read is quite old, so much of the information is not applicable nowadays.
