Ah, the joys of being a preacher in a very small town. And yes, there might have been just a hint of sarcasm in that statement. As the granddaughter of a preacher, I grew up on stories from my mother, aunt, and uncles of the fun of being a PK – and the unrealistic expectations of them and their parents doing God’s work in small towns.

Some may not like the love at first sight between Tabby and Joe, but it didn’t bother me. I really like how the two seemed to have a special understanding of each other that quickly turns into something more. Tabby definitely has reason to be hesitant to get involved with anyone, but especially a man of the church. Thanks to the publisher Kensington and Netgalley for the book in exchange of a honest review.

I read the first book in this series and I was glad to see the second one was about the pastor Joe. I wasn't expecting his love interest to be Tabby.. I don't want to give away why I was shocked. Tabby is an artist and the new art teacher at the schools in Mountain Meadow. She's not what anyone was expecting at all. She's too young and too much for the locals. It doesn't help that Pastor Joe has taken a

I could never buy a house just like that. I'd have to visit first.

Hey, I was just in Asheville!

Nice name, cat.

Really? Who would run away from a minister?

An artist who paints dark stuff, who wants to teach kids. Interesting.

Ha, he got the Birkenstocks part right!

What the hell? Her father actually said that to her?

Tyler is very cute.

Cheese and tofu? Eww.

That is not a compliment, Joe.

Hey, I have never ridden in a convertible, either, buddy!

Bahaha, poor man! Wish he had actually told the s
