A superb collection of weird and paranormal tales from father and son writing duo Grant and Chris Leishman, who each contribute seven stories apiece to the book.

It's a superb mix of tales, ranging from supernatural experiences to slasher horror to nightmarish psychological scenarios to complex 'twist in the tail' stories.

The two men are both good writers, and their styles are quite different, which keeps the reading fresh as the stories alternate between authors. Chris is a more visceral writer

There are numerous doors within our minds, each leading to some otherwise unknown fear. Can you imagine facing your darkest nightmares? If not, then you're about to.

Paranormal Alley is a collection of dark short stories, written by a talented father and son tag team.
Amongst these stories exist strange relics, undead specters, and twisted ideas of justice.

I found that Grant's stories had strong character voices that made me relate more to the narrator and their plight, whereas his son Chris and h

The cover attracted me to this book. It looked dark and threatening so I decided to download it to my kindle and I'm so glad I did . Some short stories I have come across you can usually find two or three that hold your interest and the rest just page fillers. I enjoyed every single blood curdling page of every story. Hard to pick out a favourite, may just be the one about the car, but there are so many here to enjoy it makes me wonder what sort of macabre mind the leishman family have, scary, s ...more

Paranormal Alley is a collection of 13 "doors" behind which are a different short snippet that deals with some kind of the paranormal. I picked it up because it sounded like a good read, one that I could dip in and out of and would enjoy and I was not wrong. The son and father team both work very well together, with some of the stories dealing with the macabre and others seeming to be quite light hearted until the door hits you fully. The characters range from bizarre to completely ordinary, all ...more

Wow, what a great, gritty and fascinating collection of short stories, or better called “doors,” one of each leads to its own twisted and absolutely unpredictable reality. Reading it was a real treat, and I can’t even think of what I liked the most: the black humor and excellently played irony mixed with dark and eerie mood of each story, or the characters, so different in their creepiness. The “Santa” story was definitely my favorite, as I never saw it coming from a kind old gentleman; the end ...more

I had fun with this book. I love the idea of opening different doors since I have a fascination with doors and what might be behind them. I especially like door 2, Portal. Rachel and Colin,15 year old twins, go to their grandma's house for the night. A mirror in their room is a portal to hell. A little fear. A little zombie action. A lot of fun. Another great story, behind door 7, Darkwood, has Jack and Samantha, two kids, who want to got to the circus in Darkwood. Their mothers refuse to let th ...more

Brilliant! I read this on a plane journey in less than two hours, and was gripped by each story, wanting to move to the next!

This is a very clever collection of paranormal short stories, each very different, each has its own story which at times does not end up the way you expect. Both authors have a similar style of writing, and do horror/paranormal really well. I like the 'doors' rather than chapters, as it truly makes you feel like you are entering a different world with each story, taking yo

Okay so let me start by saying I don’t normally read collections of short stories by the same author as I find there is a common thread which is the author’s voice in the stories and while I do read books by the same authors it is rare for me to read them consecutively. Having said that I enjoyed reading this collection. Both authors managed to create an instant atmosphere which gripped me and kept me turning the pages. There were a few stories in this collection that I didn’t understand the end ...more

This book is not for the faint-hearted. Walk down Paranormal Alley at your own risk. Choose the wrong door and, who knows? You might never leave.

The stories in this collection are marinated in macabre and seasoned with a good sprinkle of dark humour.

The varying styles of writing by this father and son team complement each other to perfection, and there were so many twists in these tales that I could never have predicted.

Congratulations Grant and Chris Leishman. You truly are a collaboration made

Quite an interesting collection of short stories that are going to take readers down that dark alley and hold them spellbound until they get to that last page. I found I liked both authors in this book and it seems they work well together producing some spine tingling tales readers are going to enjoy. If you love twisted dark tales, definitely try this collection.

Brilliant collection of paranormal, sometimes disturbingly :) short stories.

I'm assuming the authors are related / a couple perhaps - both have a great style for story telling.

Look forward to more.
