Sebastian and Tyla are true mates but each is fighting it in their own way. Sebastian doesn't want to fight it anymore when Tyla starts getting attention from another wolf but he's already shown Tyla that he has his pick of the litter should he want it, so that is now all she sees. There's that and the fact that those she loves tend to suffer. The plot was interesting though the pace felt like it went fast. The relationship, I felt, didn't really hit a point where they really worked through their issues. It was very much "oh there's this major consequence for Sebastian if I don't do this" and I felt that shafted the story a bit.

This is book 2 of the Royal Shifters series and Tyla and Sebastian's story. We met both of these characters in the first book but got to know Sebastian a bit better, he was the royal assigned to protect Bailey (the lead woman of book 1). We get to know Tyla a lot better in this book, it's dual POV but the majority of the chapters are written in Tyla's POV.
Tyla has a tragic past that means she's reluctant to give Sebastian the time of day when he makes his intentions to pursue her clear. She's been in love before and that love was tragically snatched away from her so she's determined not to succumb to her feelings and leave herself vulnerable. But little does she know how her stubbornness is affecting Sebastian. As an unmated male who has found his mate, only to have that mate deny him, he's being driven crazy with rage with his need to make her his.
There a bit more to this story too with Tyla's cousin going missing, her and Sebastian set out to search for her and find themselves in a whole heap of trouble.
I really enjoy these books, I like L.P. Dover's writing style and I love a good shifter tale, especially one that has a meaty and well thought out plot to it.
I'm looking forward to more from this series, I'm intrigued where the author will take it and what she'll do with the other characters.

Too hasty, and the story felt so rushed. I am kind of disappointed with this one. I was expecting more emotions and conflict, but the author seemed to be in a hurry to reach to the climax. I don't even have anything else to say.

Predictable sequel that copies an entire chapter of the previous book (but again, still entertaining)

“I’d do anything for you, love. All you have to do is ask.”

This is the second book in this shifter series and it is Tyla and Sebastian's book. It was a love/hate type of relationship with a touch of second chance. They're fated mates but Tyla's past and her fear holds her back.

This was a good shifter book! I enjoyed it. My only problem was the first half, the tone was a little flat for me and was hard to really connect with it but the action picked up in the second half of the book and it got interesting!

I really liked Sebastian and Tyla together. I loved his determination and I loved Tyla's fierceness, her holding herself back did get frustrating but it didn't go on for too long which was good!

This was good, fast paced and sexy, some characters to hate and even more that intrigued me and some possible great stories there so I'm really hoping there's more to the series!

Man do I love me paranormal romances and Resisting the Moon is not exception!
In the sequel to Turn of Moon, where we get more incite on Sebastian and Tyla! In this story of the Royal Shifters, we learn more about Tyla and her family and why she isn’t and wasn’t in a relationship in Roped In (Armed & Dangerous, #1), why she such a good horse trainer, and how she really feels about Sebastian, a royal. On the other side we learn more about Sebastian and his demons, more about his family (his brothers).

"I like watching your cheeks blush. It's sexy as hell."

Tyla is a fighter and a damned good one; no one messes around with her if they know what is good for her. She’s also all about family and her pack. She has a deep attraction to one wolf in particular, but fights it tooth and nail. She refuses to give in, not only because she knows Sebastian is pretty much a male slut, but because her track record with relationships has left her never wanting to be in one ever again. She believes that death will always find the ones she loves and keeps closest to her heart. She learned that fact a long time ago when her family was on the run.

Sebastian has always been a protector. It’s the life he chose and never regrets. He is one of the reasons that Bailey is alive today and alpha of her pack. However, Sebastian is fighting something dark inside of himself and the only one he knows can cure it is Tyla. He will do whatever he can to make her realize that they should be together.

"She squeezed my hand. "No hurting him," she warned. "He probably doesn't see perky breasts at home." "I don't give a shit if he's never touched a boob. If he stares at either one of my girls again, I'll rip his goddamn eyes out."

I love the spirit and strength that Tyla has throughout this book! She doesn’t take crap from anyone, she can hold her own and she loves deeply. I think that is why I liked her so much in Roped In because she was just a strong woman and it carries over into her own story. Her back-story completely makes sense to the type of person she is in Resisting the Moon and why on gods name she would refuse Sebastian.

Sebastian has quickly become my new book boyfriend. So freaking protective over those he cares about, especially Tyla! More men in real life should take some notes from him. The sacrifice he has made for those he loves is admirable and swoon worthy. The way he talks and treats Tyla is just so freaking sexy and the fact that he is a werewolf on top of all that is a bonus. He’s a strong willed man, and like Tyla he doesn’t take crap from anything or anyone and he never gives up. He is willing to do what is necessary.

"I don't watch afer her anymore. I've chosen someone else to protect." Her head jerked my way and I smiled in answer. "No," she moaned. "That's right, love. You're stuck with me for the rest of your life, mated or not."

I love the back-stories that L.P. comes up with for her characters. I appreciate that she doesn’t make them long and drawn out, but straight to the point and gives you all the information you need at the time of need. Nothing unnecessary. What I didn’t expect was a different point of view at the end of the book. That was a nice surprise and gears you up for what’s to come in the future of the series.

Resisting the Moon is another Dover novel that I have added to as my favorite reads of 2015. Can’t wait for the rest.

I absolutely do not want to give this 2 stars. I really liked the first book and was excited for Tyla and Sebastian's story.

When we left off at Turn of the Moon, Tyla was tongue-tied whenever she was around Sebastian. Somewhere between then and now they've become friends, he realized she's his true mate, she knows it and has pushed him away, then she sees him with other women and assumes he's a manwhore. I wanted to see all of this build-up between them as I loved Tyla and was imagining her awkwardness around the very confident Sebastian.

Although Tyla is stubborn at first, fortunately she gets past it fairly quickly. This eases as the plot picks up. Unfortunately I was a little confused and re-read a few chapters several times trying to figure out who Amelie is when she calls Tyla in a panic. I'm not sure why this isn't told right away since it's nothing major, but I didn't figure out their connection for another chapter or two.

All of that I can push aside. Plus, I really liked the end as the climax was over and threads of the storyline were being wrapped up. I loved the character, Laila and her role in the book.

So what was it that kept me from enjoying the book? The violence. Ok, there is some of your standard violence (that sounds so strange and wrong), such as blood and fighting. Then there is the dreaded and unknown anticipation of horrific violence that leaves too much to the imagination. I've never really had a problem with violence (any kind) and I actually find myself gravitating towards dark themed books. This level and amount in the book unexpectedly hit me hard and made me think about stopping where I was.

If you have some triggers, this book may not be for you.

When it comes down to it, I was really thrown by my reaction to the story since I wanted to like it. Based on over 70 reviews of all 4 and 5 stars, I am soooo in the minority and that does leave me wondering if I misinterpreted something.

I will say that I plan to read future books from this series. I'm not sure who is next, but there are plenty of characters to give a HEA and I look forward to reading their story.

Note: This ARC was provided by Enticing Journey Book Promos in exchange for an honest review.

I first came across Tyla Rand while reading Roped In, the second book in the Armed & Dangerous series, and now I finally understand why she was the why she was then. She's lost a lot in her lifetime and while she knows that Sebastian is her mate, she can't afford to run the risk of mating him only to lose him like she did everyone else before him. She's independent and every bit the female alpha that she is, and I like how she's able to still be the good daughter to her parents and the passionate woman that she is when she's around Sebastian. You feel for her, because once you learn why she's so resistant to Sebastian, you empathize with her and can understand why it was so difficult for her to actually pursue mating with him. Of course, you can't help but feel bad for Sebastian too because he's not entirely sure why she loathes him.

I may have yet to read Turn of the Moon, but I'm already curious about some of the supporting characters in the series and am hoping that we'll be able to get to know them even better as the series goes, namely, Finn Olcan and Laila Connery, though not necessarily together. L.P. Dover has brought to life a story that tickles one's imagination while being surrounded by familiar settings. My previous reading experience as far as the author concerned is her Armed & Dangerous series, and while that was more contemporary romance compared to the paranormal romance found in Royal Shifters, they both have that element of suspense that she seems to do really well. If you're looking for a well-written story in the paranormal romance genre, you won't go wrong with Resisting the Moon, and this second in a series receives 4.5 stars, rounded off to five stars for Goodreasd. ♥

Paranormal.
Whoever thought I would get into paranormal books and love them. I do however love L.P. Dovers books and glad I started reading them. This one is a wild ride for sure! No disappointments to be had at all when you jump head first into this book. A hot as hell alpha who protects what's his and doesn't care who is in the way. I loved Tyla in Roped In and now I understand more and more especially since Turn of the Moon was a shortage on info on Tyla and Sebastian. I am super stoked that I took the time to try out a paranormal book. Can't wait for more from L.P. in the future!

Resisting The Moon is the second book in the Royal Shifters series, but it can totally be read as a stand-alone.

Resisting The Moon follows the story of Sebastian and Tyla. Tyla sees no hope in her future. She is surrounded by death and even her family can't be spared from that terrible outcome. She hopes that one day things will turn around. However her hope quickly flies out the window when members of her old pack start going missing. The last thing on Tyla's mind is finding her true mate. Sebastian is a true royal and knows what he wants. He knows that Tyla is his true mate and can't wait to open her eyes to how good they can be together. So, naturally when Tyla sets off to find out what's going on with her old pack, Sebastian accompanies her. But, their journey will bring them more than they bargained for. Will Tyla and Sebastian give into their desires and finally become true mates? Will Tyla ever find out what is happening with her old pack??

Overall, I really enjoyed Resisting The Moon. It was well written and entertaining. I enjoyed the fast pace of the story. It keep things interesting and there certainly was never a dull moment. I loved Tyla and Sebastian together. I thought they had great chemistry and excellent push and pull. Yes, Tyla did frustrate me with her wanting to deny being Sebastian's mate, but she had her reasons and if anything, it just made me root harder for the two of them. And Sebastian, I loved his determination. He knew he belonged with Tyla and would do anything for her.

Resisting The Moon is an exciting addition to the Royal Shifters series. I love the story-line and paranormal aspects. This story is filled with just the right amount of action, drama, romance and suspense. And I loved all the great twists along the way.

Sexy alpha who wants to protect his woman ✓
Strong female who doesn't need him to ✓
Bad guy who makes you want to hang him up by his toes ✓
A plot twist that'll leave you on the edge ✓✓✓

L.P. Dover definitely DOES NOT DISAPPOINT in the latest installment of her Royal Shifters series. I fell in love with Tyla Rand's character in Turn of the Moon because she was an alpha in her own right, strong, and very independent. She wasn't a damsel in distress. This girl could save herself and other people, too, as she displayed in Turn of the Moon.

Tyla is once again called on to be a hero, but this time her alpha prowess will be needed a little closer to home. He cousin Amelie places a distress call to Tyla which immediately spurs her into action. Fortunately OR unfortunately, depending on the protagonist's view, Tyla is accompanied by the one man she wants but needs to stay away from, Sebastian Lyall.

Sebastian is determined to help Tyla whether she wants him to or not. He knows that she knows there is a connection between them and uses ever skill (including brawn and seduction) to prove it to her. Once Tyla and Rand reach her cousin's home, they quickly discover that things are not as they seem. Death surrounds them and their connected past stalks them. I was literally on the edge of my seat reading the story and could not put it down. Talk about burning the midnight oil!

I love what Dover did with the story and how she connected the characters -- literally all of them -- in some way or another. The book will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat and leave you wanting more. There is a surprise revelation about one of the characters that I can't wait to read more about.

Another amazing story!

I have a lot of genres that I love, I get in moods where I love one more than others, but I think I can safely say that paranormal is one that I have never not been in the mood for. My renewed love of reading was kick started by paranormal books so I think this genre will always hold a special place in my heart. Resisting The Moon was a great addition to the paranormal genre.

I wish the whole theory of true mates was real in real life. To have the one person who was meant for you, that you have a bond unlike any other is special. I guess we could compare it to having a soul mate, which is something I really believe in, so maybe there is a little bit of true mates in soul mates. Here is the thing with true mates and soul mates. No one is perfect. Relationships aren’t perfect so it’s only natural at times to have two mates at odds or one may or may not have done stupid shit to get the attention of the one they want only to have it come back and bite them in the ass afterwards. Hint hint Sebastian and his supposed “dog” ways. I loved his perceived bad boy ways, and he was like a dog with a bone, pun intended, when it came to getting Tyla to see what they were. Now, I am not saying that Tyla was perfect by any means. She has attitude for days but she also is like that way for a reason. I was a little worried that I wouldn’t like her character but she quickly earned a place on my good side and stayed there.

I am curious to see who the next book is going to be about and I also hope that it will come out soon because I really am loving this Royal Shifters series. L.P.Dover has another great series with these wolves and if you are a fan of paranormal romance then this series is one you must check out!

I really loved the first book in this series, and it set the bar for any books that came after. Resisting the Moon did a pretty good job of living up to that, continuing on with the fated mate trope (one of my favorites!). Just as the title hints, we've got our female lead, Tyla, resisting bonding with her true mate since she is operating under the belief that it's doomed since her previous relationships all came to terrible ends.

This poses a problem for Sebastian, who is becoming more unstable the longer Tyla resists completing their bond. This is a huge source of tension for a large part of the story. In addition to this, there's trouble brewing with Tyla's previous pack, drawing them into a showdown with some people from both Tyla and Sebastian's pasts.

The writing is as good as I always expect from this author, and the story did a great job of keeping my attention from start to finish. It's got action, suspense, and of course some excellent intimate scenes between our lead characters, and is a perfect addition to the Royal Shifters series.

Sebastian is by far my favorite character in this story, he is so amazingly strong, a fantastic warrior and I imagine most readers will easily fall for him-just like I did. He is devoted to Tyla and will do anything to keep her safe.

4.5 stars for Resisting the Moon...paranormal romance fans will truly enjoy this second novel in this series, and for those who are thinking about calling dibs on Sebastian, forget it--I've beat you to it ;-) Recommended for 18+ for adult language and sexual content.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, betrayal, secrets, grief, and heartbreak.

If you have not already read the below I recommend reading them first:
Turn of the Moon (Royal Shifters, #1)

This is Tyla and Sebastian’s story. Tyla knows that Sebastian is her mate but she loses everyone she loves so she is not going to allow him into her heart. She is not going to mate and that will save him from her cursed fate. When her cousin calls and asks for her help she goes running with Sebastian joining her. She knows that not mating is causing them both pain but with her past loves dying she can’t chance it. When hunting down her cousin she comes face to face with her past she starts to question everything. Would it be so bad to mate? When she finally finds her cousin they realize they are in a war and so deep they might not make it out. Will Sebastian and Tyla be able to fight both their pasts? With all the danger will they come out of it alive? When all of the past is revealed will they truly understand what needs to be done and by who? Will they come out of the war stronger or lose everyone they cared about?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

L.P. Dover does it again in this 2nd book of the Royal Shifters series! From the very first page I fell in love with the story and the characters.

This book is focused on Sabastian and Tyla. They have many obstacles in their path to finding their happiness. Tyla tries to find out what happened to her cousin and in the search she finds that her old pack is still alive. There are many surprises in store for these two, the question is… Will they make it out alive?

L.P. Dover does such an amazing job of creating a story that you just lose yourself in. You are so connected to the characters, you laugh, cry and are upset right along with Sabastian and Tyla. My heart ached for these two and everything they had to go through.

I’m interested to see what happens next in the Royal Shifters series. If these first two books are any indication, I know I won’t have to worry about me loving it. You can’t help but fall in love with L.P. Dover’s characters. If you’re looking for a story that has those sexy as sin werewolves, and a storyline that leaves you begging for more, this is the book for you.

Tyla won't let herself get close to anyone after losing so many that she's cared about. Not even Sebastian who is her mate. She also knows that he's been with way too many women for him to actually care about her and commit. At least she thinks she knows, but Sebastian isn't going away that easily. He wants to win her heart and will do whatever he can to break down her walls. When her family is in danger, he goes with her and they end of fighting a war as she fights her feelings for him. I so loved Sebastian. He's definitely all alpha and all about Tyla. I loved their story.

Another great PNR for LP Dover. I love the fated mate trope and Tyla and Sebastian were great characters. The fight the bond, then give in but the story mostly centers around Tyla's old pack and the man she was almost mated to! My full review will be on my blog, The Book Disciple

Sebastian mentions his first job was ice fishing and says the cold never bothered him. After that, in my mind, he looked like Kristof from Frozen. It was all I pictured him as! Which, in my mind, made Tyla look like Anna. So basically I spent 1/2 the book picturing this as Frozen with wolves! (Hans was Jaret, Leila was Elsa...I could probably go on but I won't!)

I received this eARC novel from Red Coat Publishing. This is my honest review.

Tyla has had a lot of bad luck in the love department, and life in general. So now she is guarded and resists all temptations at love, considering the two men she previously loved was taken away from her.

When her and Sebastian find out that they are true mates, she runs away, fast and far. Tyla cannot afford another heartbreak.

Then Tyla gets a phone call from her cousin, who is in trouble. Tyla sets out with Sebastian, unwillingly, to see what is going on and help her. When they arrive there, Tyla's aunt and uncle have been killed, and her cousin Amelie has been taken.

Now, Tyla and Sebastian are going to meet someone from both of their pasts, while also having to decide what to do with their true mate connection. Things are about to change for them, but whether it's good or bad, will be up to the Moon.

This was a great sequel novel in the Royal Shifters series! I was so glad it was about Tyla and Sebastian because you could feel the tension between these two in book #1, so I was dying to know what was going to happened between these two!!

And I wasn't disappointed! The tension between Sebastian and Tyla was flying off the pages, and their banter was amazing. I loved these two, and they went through a lot of hard times in this book to get to their happily ever after ending.

The only thing I would say is that things went pretty quickly in this novel. It seemed like one page we were in one place, and then the next we skipped about 10 steps to what was happening on the next page. The fast pace didn't deter me, though, and it definitely kept me interested the whole novel.

I'm very intrigued for more novels, but I can't seem to find any information on the 3rd book? And this came out in 2015... So does the series stop?? I sure hope not!! I need more!!

I'm so glad that I got a chance to read this book, and I can't wait for more (hopefully!)!

Resisting the Moon is the second installment in the Royal Shifters paranormal werewolf romance series. While it does feature the same characters as the first book and occurs after the events of the first, it can be read as a standalone. This story follows Tyla and Sebastian, whom readers met in the first book as supporting characters. The two have an undeniable attraction which Tyla spends the first part of the book trying to deny because she has had an unfortunate history when it comes to her mates. Sebastian doesn't give up and tries to prove to Tyla that he is worthy of her by helping her out when a family crisis occurs. They travel across the country and wind up growing closer as Tyla deals with tragedy and loss. An unexpected visitor from her past rears their ugly head, causing more drama. Also turns out that Sebastian has ties to this person from his past, making things even more complicated. Trouble ensues and builds to a pack war. During this time, some characters are not as they seem and long held personal secrets are revealed with the potential to have a dramatic impact on those close to Sebastian and Tyla. I found the very early stages of the relationship to be a bit immature and weird. It was obvious they had a very strong attraction and it wasn't clear to me why Sebastian was being such a wimp about going for it. The storyline for this one was a bit more developed than the first book, so I actually rated it a little higher than the first. Recommended for those who enjoyed the first book.

This book was just as scorching hot as its predecessor. So let me just dive right into this review and say that the one thing I loved about this book was that it was action packed, from start to finish there wasn't a dull point in the plot line. I didn't want to put it down and I couldn't stop myself from reading just one more chapter! That being said, I still think that L.P. Dover is refining her art as an author; there are moments when the story flow is a little too fast for me or there lacks a proper transition between characters and scenes. This being said, I don't think it hinders the story, I would just like to see a more polished and refined story.

Now lets talk about these characters. For a pack of wolves, there is very much a protect your family and support each other vibe. All the characters are close and tight-knit, which in my opinion makes them ore relate-able. Sebastian is all the levels of sexy alpha that I hoped he would be after getting teasing tid-bits of him in the first book. Tyla is a whole other story, d*mn this girl was stubborn. They compliment each other flawlessly and I enjoyed their banter and connection.

I also adore all the new characters that were introduced because honestly in my mind, new characters = more books. And I absolutely want more of these stories. From the tantalizing plot lines to the searing sex scenes, I can't wait for the next one.

It happened. It finally happened. I cancelled my plans so I could keep reading Resisting the Moon. There was just so much going on and I couldn't walk away. So many twists. So many turns. So many shocks. The author wrote a story that kept me guessing. Who would survive? Was she really friend or foe? Will justice be served? And this was just the suspenseful side of the story.

The romance side of the story was fantastic. If any story illustrates the importance of communication this is it. Fuming doesn't work. Raging definitely doesn't work. Living with guilt from the past just pulls a person down. It all changes when Tyla and Sebastian start communicating. Listening and loving go hand in hand all the way to a happily ever after. Fingers crossed that Micah and Zayne get their own stories in the future.

Who is Tyla? Where is she from and where is she at? Who is Amelie? What phone call does she make to Tyla? Where is Tyla when she gets it? Who are Jaret and Laila? Why and how do we meet them? What do we learn about each of these characters? Who is or was Finn? What is Tyla so scared of and why? When Laila makes an appearance, we learn many shocking things. You really need to read this story to see wha thappens! I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

Another amazing read that had me hooked. I was hoping that Tyla & Sebastian would end up together. Tyla & Sebastian are absolutely perfect for each other. I loved reading there story, I was completely hooked. Tyla hasn’t had the best of luck in love and now to be true mate to Sebastian he will do anything to make here see that they will be together forever. I love a good shifter read and this book was amazing. The characters, the story will have you glued too your kindle. I can’t wait too see who’s story will be next, hopefully it will be Micah.

Resisting the Moon by L.P. Dover is book two in the Royal Shifters Series. The book can be read as a stand-alone. For best reading experience I recommend to read tzhe books in order. The previous book is Turn off the Moon, Riker and Bailey's story.
Sebastian, I already met in Turn off thze Moon. He was the guardian of Bailey. Now he lives with her new pack and there lives Tyla.
Trouble follows her and she keeps secrets nobody knows of.
A fast paced pnr story, action packed, unputdownable.

Taking a deep breath, I answered the call. “Hey, what’s up?”
“What’s up? That’s all you have to say to me?” my mother exclaimed.
“Umm . . . I love you?” I added, stifling a laugh. Amelie smiled and shook her head.

^when you’ve been kidnapped and you call your mum afterwards LOL

I am loving this series! I can’t wait to read more.
I’ve read a lot of shifter books and I’m not sure if I’ve read ones where the mates have visions, I actually really like that!

Sebastian and Tyla

This book shows exactly what true mates can do when they are mates. Sebastian knows she is his but until she sees this, he is doomed. Tyla has keep him at arms length and won’t even hear of the word mates. The storyline is beautiful with twist and turns you won’t see coming. I can’t wait to read about Laila. Excellent writing.

This story was without a doubt everything that I wanted for the two of them. It was action packed and filled with longing and desire. I loved all the twist and turns. I am so glad that there was a HEA for them. I can’t wait to read more of these books and find out more about this pack of Royals!!!
