Exceptionally good cultural history. Replete with greatly detailed maps. Text immensely readable. More comprehensive than Chaim Potok's Wanderings, text as engaging--and THAT'S saying something.

I found this book quite comprehensive and objective in all matters. In showing all different aspects of everyday life and religion to the tragedies and struggles, the author gave facts not feelings, yet did not disregard the sorrows and joys. I was saddened that this is an older book therefore did not contain any of the more recent events in the Jewish world.

This is an Atlas, so there are a lot of maps and after the first half of the book that deals with the history of Jewish culture there are shorter texts giving an overview of Jews in different countries. I wish I could have had a short summary of the history part and the population statistics. This is a good book to have still in the 21st century, but it is a bit big for constant use.

Yahudi tarihini başından 1980'lere kadar kapsıyor. Genel hatları ve kendi içlerindeki farklılıkları anlamak için kolay okunan ve harita ve resimlerle dolu iyi bir referans kitabı.
