Carmela Cruz has had it pretty bad for FBI Agent Sawyer Vance, her brother’s best friend and fellow Hostage Rescue Team member. It’s been a year and now that he’s permanently severed his last relationship, it’s their time. Unknown to her, Sawyer is crazy about Carmela but her whole family is precious to him and he doesn’t want to risk losing all of them, a real possibility since it happened before. But when he makes a first move, she believes it was calculated and steps away.

That’s the initial
Another good installment in the HRT series. Lots of action on a cruise ship.

I was a bit disappointed with this one ***mostly due to personal preferences*** - DO NOT think this means this is not a good book. I did not connect to the characters like I usually do because they spend so much time apart. The time they are together in the beginning is spent "in their heads" a lot - them thinking, but not talking to each other. Example - Everyone is together eating dinner, he dances with Mam
I really liked the flirtation that Sawyer and Carmela had in the last book. I liked even more that Carmela pushed Sawyer for an answer of why he stopped things. His reasoning was good, I was glad Carmela understood, but I was happier when she made him an offer he couldn't refuse. You knew that this situation was better than what happened to him in the past, that there wouldn't be the same outcome. I had lots of hope that given time they would be able to work things out, especially as they chatte ...more

The plot, bold, suspenseful and thrilling. The characters, admirable, enthralling and smoldering. Easily one of the best books that I've read this year. I LOVED everything about it. The author is a HELLUVA writer!!!!

Probably my least favorite so far in this series, but I still enjoyed it for the most part! OMG, there are so many weddings happening and I can't wait!!!

All right all right, I know I said each book just gets better and better but wow this one blew all the others out of the water (pun intended since this is about military/seals). Sawyer (love that name) and carmela were by far my most favorite couple, the storyline was the most dramatic and intrigue ridden so far and the excitement and gut clenching scences were amazing. As always Kaylea Cross gives us stories you can read about or have seen on tv concerning the evil things people do to one anoth ...more

Not as great as the synopsis made out to be mainly because of 1 of the main characters: Carmela. I hated her weakness in men. A man has a good reason not to get involved & what does she do, seduce him into breaking his resolution. She knows she's going to get her heart broken & yet she enters a 1 night stand. For her she was lucky that Sawyer feels the same way about her but this is fiction, in reality that doesn't happen.
A broken heart seriously hurts & I would never let myself get
3.5 Stars - Sawyer and Carmela's storyline kept me turning pages. The humor really brought it home as well. Sawyer does not want history to repeat itself and Carmela has distanced herself...oh heck no, she is a fighter.

The problem I had with it, were some of the grammatical errors. There were errors in Spanish as well. In Spanish, a lot of terms are gender specific (ex. Pendejo is male and pendeja is female). There were at least four other errors in Spanish. I am from the same backgr

Not one of my favorites in the series, I thought Sawyer's willingness to push Carmela away because he didn't want to loose her family just a little too much, but I dislike that sort of theme anyway so it's my own biases coming through there.
Though I did like the Titanic like situation and found that suspenseful and heartbreaking at the same time.

Any book that makes me cry is a keeper, and Sawyer and Carmela did just that. An amazing, engrossing read. Amazingly how Kaylea Cross just keeps getting better, and this won't disappoint - read it

FINALLY!!!!!! Sawyer finally pulled his head out of his ass before it was too late....and Thank Goodness Carmela was strong enough to hold enough patience for them both. This book was really good.. an exceptional read.

This book in the series has lots of suspense and excitement and a developing angst filled romance that resolves into happily ever after. Great characters as always! I love the way they anticipate and work together and always have each other's backs. A very entertaining book.

Another excellent story by Kaylea Cross.
Books and Spoons
A riveting and enthralling story, filled with high emotions, danger, and such an irresistibly compelling love story it had me glued to my kindle until 'the end'. What a beautifully crafted tale, I am still in awe.
And no, this wasn't my first book by the author, far from it. I have them all and I'm catching up on these couple last books of this series. Yet every story Ms. Cross writes is so fresh, authentic, and real they always manage to pull me in and give me the wow effect at the end.
I cannot believe I am about to give a 3.5 star rating to a Kylea Cross book!

Seized, the 7th book in the HRT series failed to impress.
I love all KC books and she writes like no other a combat/action/ suspense book but this time I wanted more.
The romance was, just there for me. Vance is Cruze's best friend and part of the HR Team. I barely got an idea about him from the previous books and I just couldn't connect to him now.
Carmella, Cruze's sister had nothing of the action hero

Kayla Cross – FBI Hostage Rescue Team (HRT) – SEIZED -- Sawyer & Carmela’s Story

I may need to take an English Grammar refresher course because I feel that I am saying the same thing over and over about Ms. Cross’s stories. So, I will just say, WOW. Book 7 is a fast action, heart stopping, HOT romance novel that you must read! Ms. Cross grabs you in the first chapter until the last words. She is one of the great authors that will become your 'go to' author when she releases each b

I was supposed to have an early night, since I wasn't feeling too well but what'd ya know, sickness seems to be held at bay by good books!

I have devoured probably all of Kaylea Cross' books and Seized was no exception, except the fact that I missed the release date. But fret not! I remedied it yesterday. Lol

Seized focuses on Carmela, Ethan "Cruzie" Cruz's sister and his best friend, Sawyer Vance. In Book 6, Exposed, there were some scenes which alluded to a possible roman

Okay so I just finished reading Seized by Kaylea Cross and I am sort of writing a backwards review. I mean I usuallly post my review in Goodsreads then publish to Wordpress but today I am starting in wordpress first. Okay so it was an okay book color me weird but I didn't really feel the vibe between the interracial couple in this one I guess because it was a black dude who wore cowboy boots and a stetson and then this latinochick. No way could I even envision them hooking up no matter how hot i ...more

I never thought I'd love an HRT book more than Jake's (the first in the series) but I was wrong. Vance and Carm's story has officially taken over the number one spot on my HRT favorites list. There are so many things that make this book the incredible, suspenseful romance it is! Kaylea always keeps me on the edge of my seat with the suspense filled plots of her books and Seized's plot was a doozy! I was thrilled to see more of my favorite characters from previous books, especially Alex Rycroft. ...more

The HRT series is one of my favorites about amazing characters in romantic military/suspense stories. Each book is about a different character and their journey to finding love and happiness. There is always some sort of crisis where we get front row seats to the action and get to watch these military men and women in action. I love how we are able to read about the same characters we've fallen in love with and get updates on their lives from book to book. We know them and our attachment to them ...more

Seized is the Best HRT Book Yet

Carmela and Sawyer finally get to have their story and what a fantastic one it is. You'll be on the edge of your seat the entire book from beginning to the end.

Sawyer is Ethan Cruz's best buddy on their HRT and is finally ready to tell Carm that he has feelings for her, but will this new development cause a rift in Ethan and Sawyer's friendship? He also is having issues with his shoulder that could cause him to be sidelined from the team if DeLuca finds out.
I'll Wait For You!!!

Carmela Cruz, sister to Special Agent Ethan Cruz had feelings for her brother's best friend who he considered as his brother and vice versa.....It was none other than Sawyer Vance.

Sawyer knew that getting together with Carmela would change things between him and Cruz and despite his fears regarding what happened to him in the past. He took that chance anyways cause Carmela was worth it.

SEIZED was a blood pumping, heart racing, adrenaline junkie, heart ach/>

Great military suspense

I absolutely adore this author and this series. It is about time Sawyer got a happy ending. His cowboy ways have amused me throughout the series, and I loved how he was with Ethan's mom. He and Carm were a great match despite Sawyer's fears.

Sawyer kept trying to keep himself away from Carm, but she just wouldn't let him. She tries to get him out of her system with a risky move, but only ends up making herself want him more. They both see Carm's upcoming cruise vacation a
I generally do like what Kaylea Cross does with her military thrillers, but 'Seized' is starting to feel a little tired and staid to me, even if it deals with very decent characters who have been trying to get their act together for the longest time. I had a couple of laughs with the guys' antics (which is always a bonus) and there's (yet again) some terrorist plot somewhere - only the location and means differ - and the HRT gets called to rescue the civilians involved and typically, this involv ...more
