Introducing The Regiville Tales, a series of full-length novels by Desirae Grove. Each book in this series can be read as a stand-alone, with its own HEA and no cliffhangers!
Eve Willard is a nerdy, socially awkward college student. She’s curvy and shy, and finding a boyfriend is not high on her list of priorities. Besides, she’s sick of the immature guys she’s been meeting at school—she can never find anything in common with them.
On the eve of her nineteenth birthday, she runs into a mysterious stranger who seems to have an old soul. Before she even realizes what’s happening, she’s getting entangled in his shroud of carefully guarded secrets, some of which put her very life in danger.
Theo Dyer has never thought he would fall for a woman again. Humans serve one purpose in his mind—sustenance. When he meets Eve, he can’t understand what’s drawing him to her, deeper and deeper. And before he can stop it, he puts her life in jeopardy, and he must now rescue her, at all costs. Even if it means possibly losing his immortality.
Will they find a way to save each other? And will their growing love survive it all?
37% into the story and I think this H is a pansy ass bitch and he's supposed to be a vampire?? I like my Heroes to be alphas. Also there's this ow she hasn't given any trouble yet but I have a feeling that she will. So I'm out.

My Review:
I really liked Theo as an introduction to the Reg Tales series but it could use a lot of editing because there were certain details that didn't make a lot of sense especially when Eve is doing one thing but then saying another or the exact opposite. I do think this book has a lot of potential with the right amount of editing and fact checking to ensure that the information being given makes sense.
I liked Theo and Eve together as a couple, I especially liked Eve because she was a person you could relate to. The feeling of not belonging and out of place in your life is something that many people can understand.
The fact that Theo was the one she related to was fairly expected even though I wasn't totally convinced he was "the one" until half way through and I have to admit I wasn't expecting the ending to come about the way it did.
I still enjoyed the book overall and look forward to reading future installments to the series.
I really enjoyed this book. Eve is socially awkward. As she is avoiding people, she runs into a super hot guy who is not like most guys her age. She is highly attracted to Theo and wants to know more about him. Theo doesn't want to fall for Eve. He has a lot of secrets and needs to keep his distance but can't seem to. As the two of them get closer, someone else sets their sights on Eve and it isn't for love. Can Theo keep her safe or will he lose his chance at love? I really like Eve. She was easy to relate to because she was awkward. She wasn't the life of the party. As a matter of fact, she would rather stay home than go to the party. The guys of her age group don't appeal to her at all, she feels like she was born in the wrong era. Theo is perfect for her because he literally was born in another era. I'm really curious as to what happens with one character in particular from this book and hope to find out in one of the next books! I enjoyed the twisted mess! It is a 4/5 for me. Thank you to the author for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.
I received this story in exchange for an honest review. Theo is a story that starts off slow and then gets fast fairly quick. Since I hadn't seen a summary initially of this story, I wasn't sure what to expect. I found 'Theo' to be funny, insightful, loyal, and even sad. It's the first story in this series and I have a lot of questions about what I hope will be future stories. Overall, it's a solid story with a very interesting premise about a supernatural town and its very supernatural residents. If the follow-up stories are as interesting as this one, then the Regiville Tales has just become my newest series by Desirae Grove.
This book was a little different than other vampire books in the sense that it stayed close to the traditional vampire, their strengths and their weakness. The narrative was quite causal and informal, almost conversational. Overall this a good book for some light reading. It has romance, suspense, magic and drama.
I’ve put off reading most vampire novels because the Twilight movies have soured my perception of them. I decided to give Theo a try because: 1 – it was free; 2 – why not? I love paranormal romance. Overall, the book was just “alright”. The story started off kind of slow for me; the last half of the book is where the action picked up and I was better immersed. The writing seemed awkward at times. The best I can try to describe this is – the author would throw out what seemed like random information, but would not elaborate until further in the chapter. It seemed confusing at times. There were some other issues I had in terms of word choice (leant versus leaned; repetitive use of phrases; “raven ichor”). Other things that personally irked me: • Theo explains to Eve that “Thaddeus” is his great-great-great grandfather. He goes on to explain how Charlotte broke Thaddeus’ heart and he died sad and lonely. If that’s the case – there is no offspring in order for Theo to exist. While I know that Theo and Thaddeus are one in the same, shouldn’t Eve have questioned that? • Eve said that vampires/all things paranormal didn’t adhere to the rules of physics. Physics doesn’t seem like the right term to me… in the context of the writing, biology or just “science” would’ve been better word choice. • In the mausoleum, Eve doesn’t turn her face in Theo’s direction during conversation because in the “inky darkness” she can’t see anything. But a few paragraphs later, she can see his torso and pecs? Inconsistencies like this throughout the story really bugged me. • The cover itself – the description given for Theo in the book does not match the eye candy on the cover. I know book covers are meant to entice readers visually, but it bothers me when the pic doesn’t match the description (not just here, but for a LOT of books). • Female characters – Eve’s best friend and sister were kind of horrible. Best Friend, Elysa, seemed to only care about being cool, whereas her sister, Nell, cared only about herself. I know some women are truly like that, but it bothered me that it seemed all the females, save Eve, were presented in a negative light. • Eve – I didn’t really find myself liking her that much either. I have a really sarcastic sense of humor, so I guess I didn’t find the banter between Theo and her all that engaging. I honestly started rooting for her because Theo loved her. I liked Theo’s character a lot. • The letting ceremony – Theo and Eve’s “vows” to each other seemed to lack passion. I understand its use as a vehicle to convey more detail of the story, but I wasn’t made to “feel” a lot when reading it.
I wouldn’t say that I won’t continue reading the series. As I’ve stated I liked Theo’s character, and we’re left with a cliffhanger for which I would like to know the conclusion. Again, the book was good to me, but not great. I hope next books in the series show development in terms of writing and characters.

Theo is the first book in The Regiville Tales series. It is a stand-alone book with an HEA. This is the first book that I have read by Desirae Grove and I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more from this author in the future. I definitely recommend this book to fans of paranormal series, especially ones interested in vampire romances.
Synopsis:
Eve Willard is a nerdy college girl with severe social anxiety. He father is a preacher and a con man. She is the only one in her family who seems to care about the fact that he is stealing money for his parishioners. As a result, this has caused her to become a bit jaded. On her 19th birthday, her roommate, Elysa, makes her go to a Halloween party. Her social awkwardness and the fact that she finds most boys her age immature, makes this party a dud. While seeking fresh air, she wonders away from the party outside and somehow ends up in a cemetery. This was probably not the smartest thing to do considering that the bodies of four girls her age have been found is the near by woods. In the cemetary she stumbles upon Theo, who is leaning against a gravestone.
Theo Dyer is a vampire nursing a broken heart. His only interest in humans is as a food source. At least that is until he meets Eve. From the moment he lays eyes on her, he wants her for more than her blood. His intense interest in Eve will put her in grave danger. On the night that they meet, Theo insists on walking Eve back to the party so that she will be safe. While his attitude annoys her a bit, she is charmed by his old world manners. He's different than all the boys she knows. He's honorable, selfless and best of all a gentleman.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a new author for me and I wasn't disappointed reading this story. The author does a great job on writing the story and sticking to the plot. I love how you will have both POV through out the story and also you get to know the characters. This book will keep you on your toes and you'll want to see how it ends.
Eve is a nerdy girl who attends college. She doesn't have the best relationship with her sister and the friends she has tends to get on her nerves. She doesn't know everything that happens out in the world or even know what's out there that isn't human. When her 19th birthday comes around she meets Theo who she instantly has a connection with. The more she spends time with him, the more she wants to know about him. She can't help the way she feels and when she finds out Theo's secrets she has a decision she needs to make.
Theo is very old and never wishes his life on anyone especially when you didn't want it. He has come to terms with being a vampire but he is also lonely. When he meets Eve, everything changes for him. He didn't expect to ever feel the way he does when he is around her and he will stop at nothing to be able to see her more. The more he gets to know Eve, the more he wants to keep her with him. When his secret is comes to Eve's attention, that is when he believes he has lost her only to find out that she was kidnapped. Now, Theo will stop at nothing to make sure she is safe.
I floved this book and loved how you could feel the connection between the characters. The way the characters come together shows the strength and love that they have but also protecting each other from the bad things.

I didn’t know what to expect when I started this book. I have read different novels from this author before and they are vastly different even in their style that it’s almost as if they are written by different people. I wasn’t a huge fan of her Immortal Dragon Brother’s series because the writing seemed rushed and underdeveloped.
Theo was vastly different and a pleasant surprised. When I started reading it, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it because Eve seemed the typical “I am not like other girls” and Theo came off as the cliché “I’m a vampire with a dark destructive past so I cut myself off from society until I become fascinated with this one human female.” Sorry, that was a mouthful… Anyway, the story moved quickly but it was well developed as were the characters. Theo more than Eve but it worked for the story.
Overall, I really enjoyed the plot for this story. It flowed smoothly and, even though it seemed to fly by, felt like a natural, logical progression. I also feel that all vampire novels nowadays have the same feel to it. While Theo brought nothing new to the table, it was a refreshing change and throwback to the classic vampires we knew and loved as children.
If you are looking for a simple, sweet vampire romance, then I highly suggest this novel. It isn’t a novel overflowing with magical creatures and a strong female lead charged with saving the world. And that works.
I received this for an honest review. I love Desirae Grove’s books. I have read several of her books and have never been disappointed, though I have to say I was a little worried when I saw this was a vampire book. I normally don’t do vampire books, but I knew being one of her books I was in for a real treat and oh how I was right.
Eve lived a pretty calm life. She was not really close to her family. She studied and kept men at arms length. Her room mate on the other hand was a wild child. Eve had her hands full looking after her.
I loved Theo. He was this really old vampire. He had the manners that you dreamed of with men. He might of been a little strange but hey look at the secret he was keeping. He was so attractive and done his best to keep up with the world that was changing around him. He was also very lonely and had this crazy stalker witch.
When Theo saw Eve he found himself highly attracted to her. He wanted her more then just a meal. Things are not easy in this relationship with Eve and Theo must do what he can to protect her.
I loved Elysa which was Eve’s roommate. She is so free spirited and lives in the moment. Elysa is really taken by this guy Kye. There is just something strange about Kye but sorry you will have to read the book to find out.
Theo, is the first book in Desirae Grove’s brand new series The Regiville Tales. A delightful mix of old world charm and modern colloquialisms, it tells the story of a 19th century Vampire and his life of loneliness and fear of survival.
A man betrayed by love and unsure who he can trust in this ever changing world, Theo comes upon an intriguing young woman disillusioned by the men of her time and a feisty attitude to boot. Theo is instantly smitten, but knows if his true identity is ever revealed, Yvette will run screaming and his life will end.
But some attractions cannot be dismissed, so when a life long acquaintance with ulterior motives puts Theo’s very existence in jeopardy and threatens the woman he loves in the process, desperate measures are required.
Theo is a wonderful story of crossing boundaries and finding your soul mate amid emotional turmoil and physical danger within a world you never knew existed. Full of fascinating characters, some with charm and charisma and others you’d rather stake through the heart, who keep the story flowing and the reader’s interest piqued from start to end.
I’m sure this will be the first of many exciting stories from The Regiville Tales and I’m certainly looking forward to reading more.
Received this complimentary arc copy from the author for an honest review Oh Eve, when are you going to meet someone that suits you. That is what she thinks to herself....a lot. Until one night, at a party with her friend Alysa, she bumps into a stranger when she ventures outside. There is something about him, so different. He tries to charm her but it doesn't work. When Theo first meets Eve, he is so taken with her and tries to charm her but for some reason, unusually for him, it doesn't work. He knows he has to see her again so agrees to walk her home. This is a story that kept me interested all the way through, which is good as I get bored easy so always enjoy a GOOD tale. Eve is so young and Theo seems so worldly but they seem to make it work, even though it takes time. Lots of dark forces at work, which Theo knows he has to protect Eve from. Oh Agatha, you are one piece of work. Your role in this tale was so cleverly written and I wanted to get rid of her myself. Lots of twists, turns, lies, secrets but the one thing that ran through the story was LOVE. Theirs was a beautiful love waiting to bloom. To me a quickie version of Twighlight but loved it all the same and I mean this as a compliment. Well done Desirae
Eve is an interesting character. She's far from looking for a guy when one seems to find her. Their meeting was a little awkward - but what isn't about some of the college years? The drama of their meeting is stolen a little bit by her roommate and best friend - and this continues throughout the story. Her best friends seems to steal the show when they are in a room together.
Theo is old - like really, really old. While he tries to keep up with the times, Eve can tell he's a little off. But she still want to know more. Their romance seems to follow the typical vampire/human theme with one notable exception - Agatha.
Agatha was a hoot. She's the bad guy - but I loved her. She had tons of character and was just crazy enough without going too overboard for the story. The suspense takes you for quite the ride - and I really wish the sister was a little more of a sympathetic character throughout the whole story.
An intriguing start to the series. I'll have to keep catching up and see what happens next.
Frat type Parties are not really Eve's idea of a good time but when she heads outside for some air she meets the mysterious Theo Dyer he's handsome and polite a real gentleman but he's gone just as quickly as he appeared. She can't stop thinking about Theo even her dreams are filled with sexy thoughts of him... Little does she know that the man she's dreaming of is a vampire that has become smitten for the first time in ages. Theo can't help it he is helplessly drawn to Eve and when she welcomes him into her dreams he heart is lost to her. As they fall deeper for each other dark forces are trying to keep them apart, Eve's life is in danger and Theo will do anything to save her even if it means giving up his life for hers.
A sexy, fun paranormal love story with a HEA and cliffhanger free although it's left open for more books:)
I received this book in return for an honest review. Eve is trying to avoid human contact at a party that her friend insisted she go to. She is socially awkward and could think of better ways to spend her time but in the process of escaping to an unoccupied area she stumbles into the cemetery at the back of the property. It is there that she meets Theo. Theo likes humans, especially when their blood is coursing down his throat but he doesn’t see Eve as a quick meal ticket. Their romance begins with plenty of realistic friction and magnetism and the story unfolds at a fast pace. The supernatural world is set up nicely for further books in the series and there’s plenty of variety in the nature of the supernatural beings. The attention to detail was strong enough to immerse the reader but not too strong to drown them. A fantastic read.
This was a unique story filled with magic, suspense, mystery and some old fashioned romance. I really enjoyed Theo's character, he was filled with old world charm, respect for woman and had some funny comments about today's favorite vampire shows that had me laughing out loud. Eve was a tougher character to get close too. She was quiet, lonely and really was like Theo without the need to drink blood. The story starts out a little slow but picks up quickly. There was a lot of back history presented on Theo and his relationship with Agatha was kind of confusing. There is definitely another story there if the author chooses. A good start to a new series that is sure to be exciting. I hope the next book will include the original characters and answer some questions that were left hanging.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review
it took me a while to get into this story, it starts out a little slow. I understand we're getting some background, it was just too slow for me when it picked up I enjoyed it. the character development was well written and the enemy was a doozy! Theo is a vampire and has stayed in his home town since being turned over 150 years ago. he meets Yvette (Eve) on all hallow's eve. she's at a party that her bestie drug her to. she decides to leave the party to get a breath of fresh air and walks way further than she intended to...this is where she meets Theo. he tries to glamour her but it doesn't really work, so he walks her back to the party. I enjoyed the history lesson the author provided for our entertainment, it was well constructed. cannot wait to read the next in the series
This is one of those books for me that started off slow...I put it down. Then I went back to it...put it down again. Picked it back up and then read it until the end. Yea weird I know. It is one of those books that for me I sorta knew what I thought was going to happen but was pleasantly surprised when most of what I thought I knew turned out to be wrong. So don't be like me...PICK it UP and read it all the way thru.
Yes it is a bout a vampire and a human. Yes there are paranormal in the book and YES IT is a VERY GOOD READ. And YEP that is all you are going to get out of me because i do not want to spoil the story line which by the way is OH SO GOOD. Looking forward to BOOK TWO which is a stand alone book. This is not a cliffhanger! I received this book for an honest review.
Regivile has a high murder rate for a large city but for a little town it was astronomical. That being said being a young girl walking alone at night, maybe not so bright. Eve being drug to a halloween party finds herself walking alone just for a moment of piece, winding up by the church graveyard. Where she is introduced to Theo. Theo insists on walking her back and they find themselves drawn together. Theo for the first time in centuries and Eve well she just does not click with most people her age. Here starts there adventures and misadventures that lead to many twists and turns. I give this a 4star because places just did not grab me. It is well written with well developed characters. I received this for free review from the author .
This was an intriguing tale of two people who never thought they would find someone. However, one walk changed everything. Yvette stumbled across Theo, who was a vampire. Yvette, aka, Eve is human and is unaware of who Theo is. When they finally come together that is when the craziness begins. This was a great story, different then most vampire novels I have read, but it was enjoyable and an interesting read. The ending leads that the story isn't over in Regiville and I will be intrigued to see where this goes. This story has passion, a nasty villian, and the coming together of love when least expected.
I received an ARC ( advanced readers copy) in exchange for honest review.
4.7 stars ****Note this book contains mature content that is not suitable for young readers. ****
In this book we explore romance, passion, vampires, and so much more. This is an action packed paranormal romance, that gives you chills, because it is such a great story.
This book took me away. It was like nothing else mattered except the book. Once I sat down to read, I lost track of time; last I checked, well the clock said 8:33 pm, but now it says 1:49 am. This book was totally worth my time for that very reason.
I would definitely recommend this book to adult readers that love a lot of action, with romance.
I love it when a story is surprising, I've not read this author before but I've read lots of paranormal and this book was refreshing and interesting, the storyline is absorbing and Theo is intriguing, he has a uniqueness about him and abilities I've rarely come across. Although I do have to say that there was some parts of this book that I found myself reading because they seemed out of context or wasn't making sense, they didn't seem to flow as well as other parts ! But even with that, I couldn't put the book down. I look forward to reading more by this author.
An ARC was given to me for an honest review. This has a slow start to me but it picks up quickly and you get an exciting intense read with a crazy witch, a spelled panther, trolls and all manner of supernatural creatures. I really liked Theo, a nice old fashioned vampire, who falls for Eve even though he was looking for dinner. And Eve who falls for Theo because of his politeness and looks. It is an entertaining and interesting read. Enjoy I did.
I like this story. It's a little slow in terms of action in the beginning but picks up about half way through the book. It had good, well written, strong characters that had great chemistry between them. . The plot was interesting. The pace was a little off but the ending makes up for it. It will be interesting to see where the story goes from here. I'm looking forward to book 2.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes vampire books and the paranormal.
I found this more socially awkward than the lead female. Description is lacking, the author takes us so far then it's like she runs out of imagination so inserts random words that actually make no sense.
I found Theo ok but the females in the book had me rolling my eyes, yawning and actually detesting them. Not a strong writer of female characters.
Eve, a somewhat introverted college student, takes a walk alone on Halloween instead of enjoying the party. There had been several dead girls found in the woods lately, but that didn't stop her. When she runs into a strange young man, sparks fly as he walks her back to the party. Theo has had his heart broken before, can he open himself up to Eve and let love run its course?
Theo was an attractive man and done his best to keep up with the world. Eve is a smart woman and doesn't talk with her family. She done her best to keep men away but when Theo comes into the picture everything changes. I love the story line and plot to this book. I received a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.
Good read with a unique storyline. Slow at the beginning but loved the progression And the twists and turns that kept me captivated and wanting to find out what other paranormal entities would show up to complicate Theo and Eve's life and where the story was going because it wasn't anything like I expected. Looking forward to the next book to this series
