Tender romance, witty humor, spine-chilling suspense.

You’ll lose yourself in this book because the characters seem like you could sit down with them over coffee.

Etta and Tom have kissed passionately but don’t remember it. They’re both starting life over, she as a writer in grad school and he, as a former hockey player, after a career-ending injury. They start out as frien

This book starts off and it kinda feels like it's slow moving. However as the action picks up and you get further along in the book you are happy you received those details in the beginning. This is a really good story about a girl that gets messed up by that guy and holds onto it as an excuse to run and not get too close. As the story and families and life grow on you the characters and their lives do too. When her new life is challenged and when she needs to she shows the backbone she has work ...more

While there, she falls for her roommates brother Tom. Even tho she really likes him a lot, she's afraid to date him or make a commitment to him because of her disastrous past. Then when Etta finally starts dating him, disaster strikes again...can they finally get their HEA or will her pas ...more

Steamy novels are my weakness as I have said many times before so it was no challenge for me to pick this up. I really enjoyed this romance book. There were not a lot of suspense and surprises but was still very enjoyable. It was a fun love story with all the necessary to fulfill the need in a romance novel. If you are a romance fan than it will be a perfect fit.

After a terrible event, Etta relocates to escape her past and start anew. Overcoming her fear, she finds the courage to fall in love. Unfortunately the past once again rears its ugly head - this time with possibly deadly consequences. Will Etta find the happiness that she deserves with Tom?

Romance, suspense and sprinkles of humor made Henrietta a very enjoyable listening experience. Tom's patience and sensitivity allowed Etta to again trust a man and I loved the Donato family dynamics. Etta show

I was drawn into the characters and was horrified at what happened to Henrietta but in end it made her stronger. She moved away from family and was lucky enough to be living with the Donato sisters. But Henrietta"s past does not end up staying there. Henrietta can be any small town woman in America. The book is a great read.

Easy to read but when you're into the story it changes its path and seems a very different book and this happens too often fot me. It has not a clear point of view, changing subtley along the reading so it's confussing at times. Anyway, I enjoy reading it and wanna know more about the Donato family!

From Publishers Daily Review:

Etta and Tom have a problem. They just kissed each other passionately -- but neither one can remember doing it!

So begins this thoroughly engaging, meticulously written romance about two young people who overcome adversity and problematic pasts to grow a beautiful relationship. A supporting ensemble cast of friends and other well-developed characters helps make this excellent debut novel something truly special.

More about that mysterious kiss: it happens during a hyp

I found that this book was rather slow-moving, but this may be the nature of romance books. Around three-quarters of the way through, however, it picks up speed and I would classify it as a romantic suspense. There were hints and clues about what was going to happen, but I would have enjoyed the book more if this had been more of the focus of the book. That's just my preference, and others may enjoy the slow buildup of the relationship between Etta and Tom.

Things I did quite enjoy were the envir
