“ALL YOU HAVE TO DO...IS TRUST ME.” Rudeus Greyrat’s new life takes a shocking trn when the country of Roa is overcome by a blinding light, leaving the fate of his family and friends unknown. He and his student Eris are transported to the Demon Continent, a foreign land which is strange even to Rudy. When a mysterious figure, claiming to be a god and offering advice, Rudy must decide whether or not this stranger can be trusted. Can Rudy and Eria make it back home, or will this be the last new world in which Rudy ever awakens?
It's official. If ever they translate the light novels for this series, I will happily buy them.
This volume of Mushoku Tensei is about 3/4 main story, and then contains two bonus stories. One bonus story is a short story by the light novel author, and the other side story is about Sylphie, the girl we parted ways with a few volumes ago. I throroughly enjoyed both of these side stories.
As for the main story, we get to see Eris grow as a character, and see Rudeus actually be really unsure of himself. A new factor is introduced that makes Rudy question what he should do more than he normally would, and it's interesting to watch him try to get through with everyone unscathed.
The main story ends on a foreshadow cliff-hanger, and it'll be torture waiting for the next volume.
It sets up the new story arc well, and I'm happy to say the anime follows it pretty closely. But surprisingly, the anime leaves OUT too much! It definitely should have kept the other PoVs and side-stories. They're so cute and would have been utterly devastating when remembered much later on in the series.
Selphie, for one. But I'm really enjoying all the side stories. It's fleshing everything out, which is kinda funny, because animes are usually full of filler. There's simply more to the manga. Or rather, later on, I may be simply saying that I should have just read the light novels first. :)
That's better we're getting somewhere again, the calamity has left our duo in demon land with a new warrior, there new goal is to get back to the mansion so the join a guild. In this it finally sets up an adversary, whilst I've enjoyed the unorthodox nature of the series, I'm glad it's finally setting up goals for our protagonist.
The manga itself only had the story for 3/4 of the volume, the rest of it as another backup stories, AHHHH WORDS!!! Then we get a backup story of Sylphiette which is very generic, leads into what is currently happening to our characters but I have a feeling it won't make any impact for a longtime down the line.
I got tired of not knowing what was going on. The story keeps jumping around and new characters keep dropping in. The art leaves much to be desired. Fortunately, although there are more volumes, I have none of them. Sayonara.
Reading something after you read its source material makes you appreciate the subtle changes. Also the places you think look one way, often look completely different.
5/5 On a eu le cataclysme magique qui est une partie très bonne du mangas, il y a eu plein d'explication, loiseld, les parents de Roxy ça va être grave intéressant.
Oh don't you love a massive plot twist early on in the series, yes, yes i do.
I honestly didn't see that coming and i love it, both the fact i didn't see it coming along with what actually happened. Its really interesting and opens up a new world to young Ruddy and Eris along with everyone involved. An seemingly omnipotent character introduction along with a majorly feared one too. Keep it coming!
The story pace has increased, and the new developments are extremely intriguing. The one thing I expected and dread right now is the lack of depth in the combat skills, no more new magic, no more new attacks, and no buffs at all.
