First of all, loving the cover! The Sutherlands are a very diverse family. As diverse as the writers and the styles they applied :) The collection was full of interesting stories and characters. Some of the stories were better than others for sure. I had a few eye-rolling moments, which I wish I could share without spoiling (lol), but in general, it was good. In some of the stories, the Sutherland familial connections were clear and in others I have no clue how they related to one another. I enjoyed the range and variety in the collection. Safety: No rape/abuse. One of the stories, they don't use condoms. One of the stories there, are OW/OM while H and h are not together.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 - "It’s amazing what you can find on the internet these days." Stars!

If you are looking for a great collection of books and novellas then this selection, at the price it is being offered for a limited time, is certainly worth considering.

Half the authors I have read in this anthology, the other half are new to me, and it was great to try out a few new styles and see what stories they had to offer.

"I remember everything you ever told me."

All of the common and favorite tropes and themes are explored through the series of stories, and every taste and flavor is catered for. And although based around one family I don’t really think that you need to worry about reading them in any specific order, as there isn’t really any interconnection going on apart from the name for the most part.

"You're not just anyone."

One bug bear for me, and I know this is nit picking on what is essentially a charity box-set, but in a collection of this length it was hard to ignore that there were a large number of misused and completely wrong words (the curse of auto-correct) throughout and to such an extent at points it was pretty distracting as the reader -

'responding in a primal way to the vision of a viral, living man...'

I think that may be Virile...

Other than that, this is selection is well worth the investment, whether you like one, two or all of the stories told, you are still getting a real bargain from some extremely talented authors.

The Sutherlands are like most any other family except they are wealthy. More money, more problems. Within this family lies mistrust, estrangement and turbulance but what I found encouraging is despite all the chaos when the chips were down they united to help their own. That's the definition of family. I can honestly say these characters are unlike any other but the authors all brought something to the table to make this anthology a magnificent find. I received an ARC of The Sutherlands in exchange for an honest review.

This is a collection of sinfully delightful tales from ten truly gifted story tellers, each story follows a different member of the Sutherland family, and each told by a different author. From the moment I started this little reading adventure I was hooked, and left with an insatiable desire to learn more, so I treated myself to a little reading marathon and devoured it in less than a day!!

The Saga starts off with a highly engaging, and oh so sexy, read from Allison Bliss titled Foolish Expectations...this one was definitely one of my favorites!! Bailey Hobbs and Nash Sutherland's story captured my attention instantly, and kept me completely enthralled until the very end!! Bailey was looking for a fresh new start, never expecting a stop in a dive bar would end up giving her everything she wanted...and so much more!!

Next Up was Under An Evening Sky by Shyla Colt, and the story of January Sutherland and Flint Marston. These two had a history, he was stuck in a loveless marriage, and she wanted nothing more than to be with him, but it just wasn't their time... so she walked away. But after some time away she has decided to come home, and she is definitely pleased to learn he's no longer married... now she can't help but wonder if it's finally the right time for them?

From there is Shadow Ranch by Robin Covington, and the story of Eli Sutherland. Eli's life is somewhat of a mess, and he has returned home to sort things out and possibly find a place where he can belong. Which also puts him in the path of Texas Ranger Shep Lockwood, there is an instant attraction there, but life keeps getting in the way, and keeping them from getting to know each other...

Next you'll come across a delightful little story titled Brazen by Avery Flynn, and you meet Bianca Sutherland and Taz Hazard. These two are partners at work and play, and are hot on the trail of some deviant people selling a very harmful drug called Genie's Wish and they want to stop them and get it off the streets. Which proves to be a challenging little task for them and also puts their seemingly perfect relationship in question...

Next we meet Callie Sutherland from Screwed by Kelly Jamieson, and Callie's story just so happens to be one of my favorites from the saga. Callie is attempting to move on from a very painful divorce, and is taking a little "me" time, and trying to figure out her next move in life. She has no intention of finding a replacement for her ex anytime soon, but every time she needs a someone to save the day Cash Hale is there ready to help, and the more time she spends with him, the more she wants more than just a friendship. The problem is Cash is her ex-husbands best friend and business partner, and that's a line she just can't cross..

The next story is a sexy little read from Abby Niles titled Stripped, with this one you meet Madison Walker and her handsome boss Jaxton Sutherland. Madison is a single mother, working two jobs to keep her little family afloat, a secretary by day and a stripper by night. Everything seems to be working out fine until her day time boss discovers how she spends her nights, and he doesn't like it, he is a upstanding member of the community and he can't have one of his employees moonlighting as a stripper, so he causes a ruckus, and winds up getting her fired. But after he discovers she has a family to support he feels obligated to fix things...

Next up you'll meet Lexi Hanson who works for Mr. Hudson Sutherland in Wrecked by Terri Osburn.
She is on a mission to find a place to build her bosses new hotel, which also puts her in the path of Adam Logan... and he brings a whole lot of trouble to the table!! This one will keep you guessing until the very end!!

In Not the Marrying Kind by Julie Particka you'll meet trust fund princess Desiree Sutherland-Colt. Desiree is tired of being controlled by her overbearing parents and is in desperate need of a break from them and the current state of her life, so she flees, and is doing quite well until she her car breaks down and leaves her stranded in Detroit. And also puts her in the path of Gunner Norton...

Now to my favorite read of the bunch...One Forbidden Virgin by Joya Ryan. This one takes you front and center into the lives of Summer Villar and ever so sexy Jace Sutherland. Summer is a virgin and she is so tired of feeling like she is missing out on something because of it, so she devises the perfect plan to put a joyful end to her days of being the pure, and hopes it will move her a little closer to being a little sinful. She knows Jace is in the business of providing people with ways to live out their wildest sexual fantasies and she wants to employ his services... only Jace isn't so willing to help her out!

The final read is Sweet Surrender by Naima Simone, in this one you'll meet childhood friends Hayden Reynolds and Griffin Sutherland. Hayden and Griffin were once in love, and then he walked away and broke her heart, and she has never gotten over him. When family business brings him back home, and puts the two of them unexpectedly back together again Hayden begins to hope it means there is hope for them after all...

This is a huge box set, I read 3 of the fabulous novellas, and all three are superb; there is no doubt in my mind that the others are just as good. Whether you have favourite authors participating in THE SUTHERLANDS: ONE FAMILY SAGA, or if all of them are new to you, this is an ideal box set to discover new authors and enjoy beloved ones.

SHADOW RANCH by Robin Covington

Eli Sutherland is back in town for the funeral of his mother, who had been in jail for the murder of Eli’s father. Nearly everybody hates Eli in his small town: hes gay, his mother was Japanese, he’s an artist. And Eli is angry at them all, for all the injustices of the past, because his now ex-boyfriend in Austin betrayed him; he’s not in a good place. An old friend from school, Marnie, is nice to him, however. And then he meets the Texas Ranger Shepherd – Shep – Lockwood, who is also gay. Things might be looking up after all, but then very, very unpleasant things start happening, even murder!

Is this getting old? Robin Covington has penned yet another fantastic book! SHADOW RANCH is a male/male romantic suspense, and it is absolutely brilliant! I knew it was a novella, and it was so good, I wanted more; I hope Ms. Covington will give us a bit more of Eli and Shep some time in the future. The story is extremely well crafted: I had no idea who the guilty party was or who it was. I liked both characters: they felt real, without being perfect, which I appreciate quite a bit. The author didn’t fall prey to any clichés whatsoever, for which I am ever so grateful. The romance felt entirely realistic, and the sex scenes are sizzling hot and feel genuine. In short: SHADOW RANCH is excellent, and the way things are going, I expect no less from Robin Covington!

BRAZEN by Avery Flynn

Bianca Sutherland, along with 4 friends and 5 former bad boys, formed B-Squad Security and Investigations. They’re looking for Gidget Harms, the fifth member of the B-Squad, and a former school friend of Bianca’s, back from the old days of their reform school for rich girls, Bernadette’s Academy for Young Ladies. Gidget was kidnapped with drug lords, who have developed a very dangerous drug: Genie’s Wish, a hallucinogenic drug; when the users take it long enough, their minds can be controlled. The Russian mob seems to be involved, and a certain Yasmin Romanow is out to get Bianca, whom she holds responsible for the death of Yasmin’s father. Bianca and her boyfriend of six months Taz Hazard will be going undercover as newlyweds to investigate further: they’ve had a tip that they might be able to find what they’re after at Indulgence Resort, near Hawaii. Taz is no big talker, but there was one secret he did not mention which just exploded in his face, and Bianca sees red! And this not-so-little omission leads to many more problems.

Avery Flynn’s writing has never been more colourful, and BRAZEN is extremely fast speed. We get to know more about everyone involved in the B-Squad, their backstories as well as who they are now. There is a lot of funny banter, and you will never think of hot wax or manscaping the same way again! BRAZEN is fast-paced, snarky, sexy, and a lot of fun!

SWEET SURRENDER by Naima Simone

Griffin Sutherland never got along with his father, and he finally left, leaving Hayden Reynolds dumbfounded. Hayden thought they were more than friends with benefits; he told her he did not want her to come with him, that she should finish college. And Griffin broke her heart. Five years later, Griffin has his own construction company; he’s a success and it has nothing to do with the Sutherland name or his family. Now, Hayden’s works for, of all people Joshua Sutherland, Griffin’s father, and Joshua sent her to give Griffin some papers… How many ways can you say “trouble ahead”!

O the writing! Naima Simone nearly had me swooning with her exceptional prose, with her perfectly chosen words, her perfectly formed sentences! O joy! Such outstanding writing is rare in contemporary romance. The dialogues are excellent as well, they reflect each character to a tee; they have their own voices, which totally differ from the narrative. Ms. Simone conveys emotions with such clarity that I could share Griffin’s and Hayden’s lust, hate, regret, pain, spite, angst as if they were my own. The story is extremely powerful, the sex is sinfully hot. SWEET SURRENDER is excellent!

This collection of stories centered around one family is a delight! 10 authors are contributing stories to this box set, all sexy tales with their own signature styles. The following is a review for three of the stories in the collection. I'm looking forward to reading them all!

Sweet Surrender by Naima Simone

Sweet Surrender is a reunion romance, between Hayden and Griff Sutherland. Hayden's mother was a housekeeper for the Sutherland family and Hayden and Griff became friends at a young age. Their friendship turned into a sexual relationship when she was in college and everything was going well - until Griff left to become his own man, away from his Sutherland heritage (and his father in particular), leaving Hayden broken hearted. Several years later she's working for Griff's father as his personal assistant and sent on a mission to track him down and bring him back into the fold (through a little blackmail on the part of Griff's father). She's determined not to let him break her heart again, but Griff's not going to waste this second chance with the woman whom he never should have left behind.

This is a super sexy story! Lots of steamy scenes between Hayden and Griff, showing their intense connection that resonates on an emotional level for both of them, even though Griff's desperation to escape his father's domination means he had to choose his freedom or his woman, and he chose the former. With Griff having a second chance to be around Hayden again he's not going to waste it. Hayden's attempts to protect her heart are no match for Griff's seduction. I liked that Griff had to prove to Hayden that he wouldn't abandon her this time around, and that he was serious about them having a committed relationship and making up for past mistakes. This was a very sexy, entertaining story (and seriously, my ereader just about caught fire).

Shadow Ranch by Robin Covington

One of the darker edged stories in this collection, Shadow Ranch tells the story of Eli Sutherland, home to reclaim his heritage after his mother dies in prison for shooting his father when he was a teenager. The trouble is that someone seems to be out to claim that heritage for themselves, at any expense. It sets the stage for Eli to interact with Shep, the local police officer (who happened to be a new deputy when Eli's father was killed). Looking to the police for help in solving the mystery of who wants to harm him and his ranch staff puts him in close contact with Shep. And the fact that he and Shep share a sexual attraction isn't lost on either of them, leading to some steamy scenes. I enjoyed the suspense factor in this one, as well as the development of the relationship between Shep and Eli. Plus it was great to have an LGBTQ romance included in this box set!

Screwed by Kelly Jamieson

What to do you when you're falling in love with your longtime friend's ex-wife? That's the dilemma Cash is in now, when his friendship with Callie Sutherland takes on a new turn. Divorced from Beau for a year, Callie isn't looking for someone new yet, but Cash just seems to be there for her at every turn, a friendly face and a supportive shoulder, someone she can share her dreams of starting her own business with who doesn't scoff at her plans. While Cash experiences the guilt of his long repressed feelings for Callie, she doesn't and I really liked that she was very firm in her conviction that now that she was divorced (her ex cheated on her) she didn't have to feel guilty for moving on with her life, no matter with whom. Since Beau comes across mostly as an ass, it's not hard for the reader to root for Callie and Cash to overcome any obstacles and find a way to be happy together. Cash and Beau run a business together, so it's definitely a challenge for him to keep his new feelings for Callie a secret but there comes a point in the story where he has to choose between his longtime friend and the woman of his dreams. We get some very sexy scenes between Callie and Cash as they move from friendship to lovers, and I really enjoyed how the story played out, complete with a happy ending of course!

Note: these stories were sent by the authors for review, but I've also purchased the collection.

I’m going to confess that I’m not really a big fan of box sets, (no don’t throw tomatoes at me, it’s a personal thing). But that said, I may have changed my tune after reading this compilation because…….

1. I absolutely loved it.

2. Highly recommend to any romance reader.

3. it’s a box set for a bloody good cause so hop to it and buy The Sutherlands.

4. Is it getting hot in here or is it just the heat coming off these books?

No matter what trope floats your boat, you will find something to satisfy you with this set of 10 novellas and full length stories from 10 of the hottest authors around.

From kicking off new series, to continuing ongoing series and stand-alone the authors have given us the reader a treasure trove of reading delights.

I fully admit to being a huge fan girl of most of the authors, so to see them all in one place and for a great cause….SOLD!!!! I didn’t even look at the blurbs for each, I just snapped it up and after inhaling them, I can honestly say that there’s a reason I fan girl over these authors and this compilation just highlights why I do.

Grab a comfy spot and settle in with The Sutherlands, you know you want to. It can be your guilty pleasure, I won’t tell.

Note: this box set will only be available till April 15th. Do not and I stress DO NOT miss out on having all the Sutherlands together at your fingertips.

I received a copy of the Sutherlands on Netgalley in Exchange for an honest review. But I also preordered this because I was looking forward to the Sutherlands for a while now and the bigger reason because 20% of the royalties go to a really great cause, Reach out and Read. so go on support it as this compilation of great stories is only for a limited time, then it breaks up into its separate stories.

The Sutherlands is based on, you guessed it, the Sutherland Family! But while it is all connected via the big family of The Sutherlands these stories can be easily read by themselves and thoroughly enjoyed. and I mean thoroughly as in thoroughly ravished by the HOTNESS going on in these stories! And I read all the stories so I probably need to take a very cold shower after all the yumminess I have witnessed! Because there were 10 stories I'm going to break it down, but not in order because you don't need to read them in order to enjoy them!

First cab off the rank is Foolish Expectations by Alison Bliss and it was a fantastic introduction to the Sutherlands where our main characters Bailey and Nash meet in a bar, and a very sexy and funny story ensues... the banter between Nash and Bailey was awesome, I'm not going to spoil it, so read it!

Not the Marrying Kind by Julie Particka was a great read where Desiree, our heroine is being suffocated by the lifestyle she is expected to lead, a life not of her choosing. so what does she do? she rebels. and ends up in the same space as Gunner. and then runs into Gunner again. their chemistry is so hot and I don't know how Desi did not just melt into a puddle at the sight of such a smoking hot stud! Also I adored this story even though Desi sometimes frustrated me at times, but looking at her past, completely understandable.

Screwed by Kelly Jamieson is the story where Callie is recently divorced from her cheating husband and she ran off to Europe for a year. When she split with her ex the couple friends were no longer really her friends. But one friend wouldn't let her distance herself. Her ex husband's best friend, Cash. and a relationship ensues, a very delicious secret relationship. I loved the relationship between these two and how supportive Cash is of Callie and what she wants to do, go after her passion, let herself go and thrive and boy did she! I especially hated how unsupportive her family was. Seriously! loved it though!

Stripped by Abby Niles is where we meet Jaxson, a spoilt billionaire brat. but that's not the end of the story. His new secretary is Madison, someone he is definitely drawn to. someone who might just open up his heart, and his eyes to what's outside his own little world. But Madison has her own little secret or two and he's about to find out and find himself in the middle of a losing wager.

Brazen by Avery Flynn should have a sideline of Holy Smokes that was hot! because it is! the steaminess between Bianca and Taz is unbelievable, even if she's mad at him for omitting some very important details! But their chemistry is amazing, the story is suspenseful and actiony and full on sexy. there are some high stakes and while this story is exciting I'm glad that there is going to be more in this series. I want to read Tamara's story!

One Forbidden Virgin by Joya Ryan. A very sexy and erotic read with Summer, a virgin that just has not met the right man to trust to lose her virginity to and there is Jace Sutherland who owns a sex club and he's all vanilla. Losing your virginity has never been this amazingly toe curling good!

Wrecked by Terri Osburn. A story of revenge, but who really loses out here? Adam and Lexi start out confrontationally but she doesn't know she'll be caught in the middle of his revenge on Sutherland and even through a haze of sexiness she's going to get wrecked...

Shadow Ranch by Robin Covington
An M/M romance between Eli and Shepherd after he's come back home after the death of his mother. and something hinky is going on, an attack on Eli, a murder and the sexy Texas Ranger is going to be to protecting Eli, with some steaminess thrown in.

Sweet Surrender by Naima Simone
Griffin left his toxic family, and his love Hayden behind, for her own future, but breaking her heart. Griff ends up with a second chance and he's not letting her get away this time...

Under An Evening Sky by Shyla Colt

a rekindling of love between January and Flint, the foreman, an older man, a love that never really died but became hidden because of tragic events. and January wants him and he want January, no matter how much he tries to ignore it...

What a bargain!
Over 1000 pages of love stories
New authors (at least to me)
All stories linked to the same family tree
Such a wide variety – something for everyone!
DEFINITELY worth the price!!!

Only available for till April 15 – 20% of profits go to “Reach Out and Read”

Foolish Expectations by Alison Bliss: What a twist there was to this story and a new and unexpected one at that. Nash and Bailey were unexpected and oh so much fun to read about!

Under and Evening Sky by Shyla Colt: January and Flint have a bit of an age difference, past difficulties, and family to deal with in this interesting story with an unexpected character.

Shadow Ranch by Robin Covington: Eli’s return home to bury his mother is bittersweet. He is unsure what he will do with the ranch he has inherited when he meets Ranger Shep Lockwood. With dastardly doings on the ranch and definite suspense this was a love story I thoroughly enjoyed.

Brazen by Avery Flynn: For those who like a bit of undercover work, searching for a kidnap victim and teamwork to get the job done this will be the story you might prefer.

Screwed by Kelly Jamieson: Friends to lovers in this story with Callie wanting to be more than a society wife after her divorce she looks for a future that will be fulfilling and Cash is there to support her in more ways than one – thoroughly enjoyable story!

Stripped by Abby Niles: A prim and proper appearing secretary to a mega-rich boss - many preconceptions shattered when a wager is made between them. Madison is more than Jaxon imagined and he becomes a better man by spending time with her and her family. LOVED the finale ;)

Wrecked by Terri Osburn: Is revenge worth destroying an innocent woman? Will brother and sister see eye to eye? Is what Adam Logan believes about his father true or not? Enjoyed Lexi and Adams in this one and wonder what will happen to Adam’s sister eventually.

Not the Marrying Kind by Julie Patricka: Princess to pauper for Desi when she leaves home to make a point – without Gunner to help out would she have made it on her own or returned to the fold? Gunner was perhaps one of my favorite men in this anthology. Desi had a lot of growing up and soul searching to do but found help in her great grandparents in the end.

One Forbidden Virgin by Joya Ryan: This is the story for those who like a bit of a darker read. There is a sex club, a virgin, a man with darker desires and a story worth reading.

Sweet Surrender by Naima Simone: This second chance at love story between Hayden and Griff is hot…very, very hot. There was heartbreak, manipulation, a despicable father and so much more in this story. Great end to a wonderful anthology

Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

Received an early release copy for my honest and unbiased review. I will update my reviews as I finished each book or novella.

Foolish Expectations: The perfect intro into The Sutherland family. Nash, the hot lawyer, and Bailey, his cute wife, started out backwards. A one night stand turned into marriage but everything was a little awkward while they settled in. Nash is the typical alpha hottie but Bailey is no pushover. Lots of twists and turns to keep the mundane very interesting.

Under an Evening Sky: January Sutherland has had a crush on much older Flint Marston. His age and past put their future in limbo. January came back from school and their hearts opened. This one was a short novella, perfectly done with passion and a bit of suspense. Slightly predictable but hot and steamy just the same.

Shadow Ranch: After burying his mom, Eli takes over the ranch and makes a hot new friend. Eli is put in danger multiple times and can't understand why. Having a Ranger for a lover comes in handy. I haven't read too many M/M romances but this was HOT.

One Forbidden Virgin: Quick and sexy. Very short novella that took Summer to a sex club where she begs to be taken by her BFF's brother. She's the virgin and he's the BDSM type. Her whole world is opened to new things. While this one lacked much substance it was heavy on sexy.

Brazen: B squad is a high security tough ass group of military men, mostly, and rich bad girls that grew up together in a terrible boarding school. While trying to track down a drug developer one of their own is kidnapped. The team's mission is on an island while a special event takes place with lots and lots of sex. Flynn delivers a highly erotic and exciting suspenseful novella. The first book, Bulletproof, is part of the Mackenzie series. Look for more in this series.

I have just finished an ARC of Screwed by Kelly Jamieson and after reading this I can't wait to read about the other Sutherlands. Screwed is the story of Callie Sutherland. She isn't wait most people perceive to be the southern debutante. Oh, she has the manners, education, sweetness and southern charm but she's also sassy, fun and trying to make a new life for herself. After Callie's divorce from Beau, which displeases her parents, she left for a year long trip to Europe. Now that she has returned home she has decided it's time to really change her life. There's one person besides her best friend that she can turn to who won't try to talk her out of it. Cash, her ex-husband's best friend.

Cash Hale has been Beau best friend since college and business partner after graduating. He's also Callie's friend as well. Which is why he's so torn. Does he just walk away from Callie or stay friends? Cash, being the true southern gentleman, just can't walk away from the friendship he has with Callie. She needs someone to be there for her since her parents aren't. He's her sounding board, fix-it man and protector. At least that's what he thinks.

After one hot encounter, Callie thinks there can be more between her and Cash. Cash on the other hand thinks this can't go no farther since it could ruin the the friendship and business. Right? With decisions to be made, lots and lots of sweets these two try to figure out if their friendship can turn into more. If you're looking for a read with a spitfire, southern girl and a dirty talking southern gentleman, then you'll like Callie and Cash's story.

Stripped-Abby Niles

I received an arc for an honest review.

I love the MMA series this author has written, so I jumped at the chance to be able to read this story. It was different than what she has written in the past but it was still so good. We meet Maddy who is a single mom who is stripping at night and supplementing that income with a day job at Sutherland investments as a secretary to the owner Jaxson Sutherland. Jaxson is a billionaire with his head so far up his own ass that he doesn't realize.how he treats people until his beautiful secretary calls him on it. This bugs Jaxson, so when Jaxson makes assumptions about Maddy and then later finds out just how wrong he has been, she challenges him to live off of a fifty dollar budget for a week. As the week progresses they spend a lot of time together and Jaxson enjoys getting to know her kids and just spending time doing things that doesn't cost a fortune. Throughout the story you see people judging each other before they really get to know them and that makes this story so real because we all have done this. This story left me with such a good feeling especially since I can identify with the herione in this story.

This is a review of Foolish Expectations by Alison Bliss.

Foolish Expectations was another charming, perfectly heated, and completely enjoyable read by Alison Bliss. From the very first word until the very last, I was wowed once again by this author’s undeniable talent for creating such a distinct level of humor and charm, for crafting dynamic characters that jumped rooted themselves right into my heart, and her ability to create an authentic connection that just doesn’t quit. Her writing wholly submerged me into this book, heart first, and I could not stop reading it to save my life, and better yet, I didn’t want to stop because it was just that good.

This book was lively, had the best kind of vibrancy and charm with two unforgettable characters, and it gave me a story with the best level of feels, emotion, and fierce chemistry laced all the way through. Foolish Expectations had it all, and I loved every bit of everything that it was giving me because when you read a book as good as this one, there isn’t anything not to love.

Now it’s no secret that I am a huge fan of Alison Bliss. I have read each and every one of this author’s books, and they just keep getting better and better. Her writing is so fluid and easy to sink right into, and the stories she creates are so thoughtfully crafted that they completely take you over when you’re reading them. She always gives me a story that fantastically blends the right amount of everything into a book that is sure to give you one fulfilling reading experience.

Looking for a book with fierce characters that have a dynamic that will have you equally laughing and smirking and blushing through every page? Then this is the book and author for you. Looking for a story that will completely melt your heart from start to finish, and pull at your emotions in the best and most all-feeling way? Then run yourself, don’t walk yourself, to Foolish Expectations. (Or any of Alison’s other phenomenal books.) Looking for an enrapturing book that packs the most superb level of heat and story and fun and meaning into one fantastic package? Well then you guessed it, Foolish Expectations is for you, and I truly can’t say that enough.

I loved this book, and everything within it. Bailey and Nash’s story was full of their sparkling personalities, their unadulterated chemistry, and more humor, heat, and heart than you can shake a stick at. It had it all, and as I sit here writing this review, I just can’t help wanting and feeling like I need to read their story all over again to experience the literal amazingness that is them.

Bailey was a character that I completely loved from the start. The fire shot out of that girl like fireworks on the Fourth of July, and I loved that she wasn’t afraid to tell it like it is no matter what. She was spunky and real and that fire that emanated from her made her so easy to love because it showed the fighting spirit she had. What I also loved about that fire was that with it, I also got to see a more vulnerable side to her too. I got to see what happened when that fire went away, and when those doubts and fears came in and how that affected her. Alison Bliss created her character in such a way that she let me understand and get every part of Bailey. She let me understand her fears and trust issues and where they came from, she let me get why she was scared and why she shielded her heart, and she let me get where that fire came from and why Bailey needed it, and that just had me loving her character to pieces. Bailey was strong yet soft, sassy yet guarded in ways too, and a firecracker to say the least, and that is just part of why I loved her so much.

Now Nash Sutherland just about had me from the moment he locked eyes with Bailey in Foolish Expectations, even if she was bound and determined to give that man a run for his money. That man is a charmer, and I truly mean that, as he will have you eating out of the palm of his hand in no time flat because that’s the presence he has. He is charming and sweet and will just about melt your heart every chance he gets, but more than that, he is just an honest to goodness good guy. That’s what shined through the most about him, and that was probably my favorite thing about him. (You know besides the fact that he could melt me with just one look and smile!) He was real and honest and true with his feelings for Bailey, and he was determined to show her that what they were sharing was real and meant something. I loved that that goodness shined through every page of this book, and even when he had those moments of doubts or questions, he was still that good guy I knew him to be, and that just made him golden in my eyes.

Bailey and Nash’s connection hits the ground running from the moment they lock eyes in Foolish Expectations, and it doesn’t stop for a second. Not for one single second. Their connection is full of heat and passion and need, and it’s something that neither of them can deny. As much as they might fight it from time to time, and as much as it might make them a bit unsure of what’s happening between them, it’s there, it’s real, and it’s practically palpable. Alison Bliss creates and evolves that connection in a way that is perfect for what Bailey and Nash are sharing. Though their connection never wavers, she couples that fierce connection with the ups and downs they face in a way that works so well and makes sense for them. It also makes the love story they share that more real, undeniable, and full of heartfelt feeling that you won’t soon forget because of the tangible connection Bailey and Nash share.

Both Nash and Bailey have things from their past that come into this story and threaten the connection that they can’t escape. She’s guarded and has trust issues from the last time she opened her heart, and he’s got some family drama that tends to cloud his thinking and reasoning from time to time. They both have pasts and they both have ramifications from those pasts that work their way into this story, and Alison Bliss weaves it all together in a way that fits their characters and everything that they’re sharing in Foolish Expectations. As much as I hated that they had to experience the pain and doubts that their pasts brought them both, I got it, and I completely understood why they felt the things they did because of their pasts. Understanding their pasts made me love them all the more, and it allowed me to understand them both on such a deeper and meaningful level.

Now like any of Alison’s books, these characters and the world they’re in have the best, and I mean best, southern charm that is sure to have you feeling the southern love in no time. That charm is so distinctive, so vibrant, and so fun, and Alison Bliss weaved it all into Foolish Expectations in the best and most memorable ways. She makes the world of this book come to life with all of that charm and sass, and it makes everything you read in this book that more meaningful, that more fun, and that more undeniably southern in the most fantastic way. I loved that charm and everything it allowed me to feel with Bailey and Nash something fierce, and I truly couldn’t get enough of the vibrancy and effervescent spark that charm gave off through every page.

Foolish Expectations is a story about what happens when life throws you a couple of curve balls you never quite expected. It’s about what happens when you end up down a road you never thought you’d be on, a road full of twists and turns, and a bump or two. It’s about taking risks with your heart, letting go of the past even though it’s hard, and seeing where that new road, that new journey, and all that it has to offer can take you, as long as you give it all a chance and get in the damn car. Let me tell you, you need to get in the damn car and take that chance with Nash and Bailey.

This book was fantastic in every single way. It had dynamic characters that were vibrant, real, and so easy to love and root for. It had a sparkling story that was completely captivating from start to finish, and burst with the best level of connection, charm, and feeling that is sure to melt your heart in more ways than one. It also had Alison Bliss’s phenomenal writing that brought it all to life in the most all-feeling and memorable way that will seriously have you loving this book, these characters, and everything they have to offer in no time flat.

Simply put, Foolish Expectations is a must read book that gives you everything that makes a book exceptional. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would, because it was that undeniably good, that undeniably fun and heated and wonderful, and that undeniably memorable all the way through. Alison Bliss rocked every single aspect of this book and its characters. She let me be there with them through it all. She let me feel everything they were, she let me understand them in the most authentic of ways, and she invested me whole heartedly in everything that Bailey and Nash were sharing, and it truly doesn’t get better than that.

This is the perfect addition to The Sutherlands Anthology, and I for one can’t wait to experience and get more of this author’s utterly fantastic books, stories, and characters real soon!

I was graciously given an ARC of The Sutherlands in exchange for an honest review.
Reviewing something of this magnitude is crazy. I’ve sat here the last copy of days trying to figure out how to review these books. First, The Sutherlands is an anthology comprised of 10 sexy stories, combining full length novels and novellas; all involving a different family member of the Sutherland family. Each author that participated in this anthology definitely did a marvelous job with what they contributed. Each of these stories brought something different and while I really enjoyed and loved some, some fell a little short and some left me feeling empty.

I felt in some instances, the stories just ended and left you asking questions while others were perfect. There were also some that I wanted more of. I think on two or three of the stories, I flipped looking for more because I was so enthralled and saw there wasn’t anymore. I may have begged one of the authors for more of hers! Unfortunately that did not gold true for all of these marvelous stories, but you won’t always like everything that you read. I would never change my rating just because of a few stories that just weren’t my cup of tea.

My absolute favorite story in this anthology was Foolish Expectations by Alison Bliss. Hers is the first in the anthology and I couldn’t get enough of Nash and Bailey. I was hooked from the first word and when you enjoy something so much its always too short. Nash Sutherland was enough alpha and enough of a gentleman that you want to pull him out of the book and make him your own. He is definitely HOT. Alison Bliss knows how to write her alphas males… He definitely had some he-man moments, but that in my opinion is okay. I never wanted to kick his ass; I laughed a lot with his shenanigans. Bailey is a beautiful headstrong woman who seems a bit lost, but doesn’t make you hate her. She needed saving, but she wasn’t helpless. She had a backbone and she had sarcasm. I loved it. It was a fantastic way to start off this anthology.

Another one of my favorites was Screwed by Kelly Jamieson. I love a story about a woman who knows what shes wants. I loved watching Callie Sutherland go after what she wanted and not just sit back and let the world dictate everything for her. The handsome and awesome Cash was an amazing perk. He was there when Callie needed someone and maybe it was for his own reasons, but he showed who he was to Callie. He was a shoulder to lean on at first and then all of that escalated nicely. This story was hot, sexy and showed growth in its characters.

Unfortunately, not all of the stories were hearts and rainbows. There were a few that left my feeling short and a few that just weren’t my cup of tea. With these 3 stories, I really pushed myself to get through them. I struggled and I don’t know if it was the writing, if it was the contexts or if I just didn’t like the stories in general. I feel bad having to write this, but not everything will always be good for everyone. With these stories that fall in the little section, I just felt they just ended and it left me feeling a bit angry. They would hit the climax and then all of a sudden it was over. One of the other ones just wasn’t it for me. These stories did not bring down the rating of this anthology for me though. I would definitely read something by all of these authors again.

Throughout this anthology I grew to love a lot of the characters, especially Grandma and Grandpa Sutherland. They reminded me of mine so much and it really hit a soft spot with me. For the size of this anthology and for the what they are writing for, I think they all did an amazing job. I applaud each author for giving their all and doing something they love and giving back for it. I hope that everyone takes the time out to read each of these stories because there is something for everyone. I was so happy to get an early copy and to review this before it comes out. Congratulations to all of the authors for a job well done!!

I've had the opportunity to read 5 of the 10 incredible stories in this collection and there are two things I know for sure. First, this is an amazing collection of stories by some of the best authors around. I haven't read one that I didn't enjoy and the characters are amazing. The second thing I know is the Sutherlands are one messed up family and have some steamy and intriguing stories to share!! You don't want to miss it!

Foolish Expectations by Allison Bliss - A fun story with an unexpected meeting and a few more unexpecteds along the way!
Bailey Hobbs has had one hell of a day. So when she stops at Rowdy's Bar in Flat Rock, TX she just wants a cold beer and a little rest for her aching feet. What she never expected to find was Nash Sutherland and the changes her life would take because of that encounter.

Shadow Ranch by Robin Covington - A great M/M romance that shows you can find love when and where you least expect.
Eli Sutherland never thought he'd return to Shadow Ranch. But the death of his mother and the betrayal of his live in lover had him leaving Austin and returning much to the dismay of the Sutherland family. He isn't sure what bothers them most, the fact that he's gay, he's an artist, or that his mother killed his abusive father. After meeting the local sheriff though, Eli thinks maybe there is even more reason to stay on the ranch.

Brazen by Avery Flynn - an excellent story filled with action, adventure, and a lot of heat!
Bianca Sutherland and her B Squad Security crew are determined to find and rescue their friend Gidget Harms who is being held by vicious drug kingpin. She and her boyfriend Taz are scheduled to go undercover at an island resort they suspect is the center of the drug mfg. operation of Genie's Wish and the very place Gidget is being held. There may be one or two surprises that pop up along the way but they won't be deterred from their mission!

Screwed by Kelly Jamieson This is a great friends to lovers story!
Callie Sutherland is a free woman. Newly divorced Callie is ready to start a whole new life. Who better to help her than her ex husbands best friend Cash Hale?? One hot steamy night has Callie thinking there could be more. Cash on the other hand is worried about what it will do to his friendships and business. Will love win out??

Stripped by Abby Niles loved this one! A fantastic don't judge a book by it's cover story!
Jaxon Sutherland thinks he's a pretty good judge of people and he's certain he has his feisty new assistant all figured out. Was he ever wrong! After an interesting discovery of what she really did with her time off, she challenges him to spend a week in her shoes before he judges her. Can he handle it????

I am currently reading this so as I finish up a story in his box set I will add and update my review.

Foolish Expectations ~ First I will say the humor alone in this story is worth reading it, but it gives you so much more. This one takes you on one hell of a journey. A one night stand leads to a whole more then Nash and Bailey were expecting. Misunderstandings and assumptions almost cause these two that something that could last. This one has a few unexpected twists. One which is heartbreaking, but go with the story because you will be left smiling at the end.

Under the Evening Star ~ This is one intriguing story. Flint is older then January, but that's only one of excuse Flint uses to keep January away. Being back after two years feelings for Flint are still there for January. How can she make him see they have something special. Tough road ahead for those two. There is one twist in here that is unexpected. This book I flew through because it just sucked me right in. While reading I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. You just get that feel. January and Flint have explosive chemistry so you can see why keeping their distance doesn't always work. Can they have a future with past always lurking in the shadows?

Shadow Ranch~ This is a mm romance with strong heroes. The way Eli describes the sheriff Shep you know he is yummy. Eli has gone through so much and trouble is still following him around. Can he ever escape it? Shep sure makes things bearable. You can feel the chemistry between the two. It's hot when they're together. Can they figure out what heck is going on before someone else's life is the price?

Brazen ~ Another winner by Avery Flynn. We met Taz and Bianca in Bullet Proof and now we get to see where their story leads. Things getting pretty steamy with these two. Fan yourself steamy. This book just sucks you in that you don't come up for air until you're done with the story. I so love all the characters in this book and I honestly can't wait for more from the B-Squad. Bianca is thrown for a loop when the truth about Taz comes out. Now her world is rocked to it's core. Can their relationship make it or is it over before it begins? I was not a fan of Tamara, but she's going to surprise you. If you're looking for a action packed, suspense filled, passionate grab you book look no further. Trust me after reading this you're going to already hooked on this series.

10 Different stories....One great family!!

Shadow Ranch by Robin Covington

Coming home can be filled with a range of emotions. For Eli Sutherland - it is heartbreaking and full of scars from the past. A town that is filled with ‘hate’ for his presence. After all - Eli is an artist in a town full of ranchers. Add to that his mother’s Japanese heritage, the fact that Eli is gay, and a mother that was arrested for his father’s murder. Now you see why Eli is far from the ‘favorite son’ in this community.

Nursing a broken heart, Eli is on the mend from a disastrous relationship. The last thing he expects is to find romance in this god forsaken place. When an old high school friend - Marnie - invites Eli to hand out with friends, he has the pleasure of meeting Shep. Texas Ranger Shep Lockwood certainly knows how to capture Eli’s eye. The two find themselves embroiled in a case together that will lead to some unexpected revelations.

As a huge fan of Robin Covington’s - I jumped at the chance to read her newest addition to the literary world. Shadow Ranch is Robin’s first time writing M/M suspense and I certainly hope it not the last!! One thing is certain - Robin always knows how to write a truly genuine romance that pulls the reader into the tale. Eli is no exception!!

This short stories features characters that are flawed and interesting. Something that Robin prides herself on writing. Every single time I start a Robin Covington book I know that I will enjoy the ‘ride’. Eli provided the perfect addition to the Sutherland Series!! Check out the entire collection today!!

I got a copy of this book from the author in exchange of an honest review.

Foolish Expectations by Alison Bliss

The first story in this anthology is Alison's Foolish Expectations. And it makes sure that you start of this collection with a bang. Foolish Expectations is fun, engaging and has such feisty, amazing characters. I loved both Bailey Hobbs and Nash Sutherland. Both of them had trust issues and learn to trust each other.

Foolish Expectations is literally a whirlwind romance. Things move so fast in this novel. Both Bailey and Nash meet at a bar, exchange a few words, some witty banter and the rest as they say is history. Fast forward a couple months, they are married and figuring out how to live together. It takes some time, but Bailey learns to trust Nash. I loved their relationship. Nash tried his best to be the best man possible for Bailey. He tried to earn her trust and her love.

But you can't have a romance, where the hero isn't an asshole at least once. Even though Nash does everything to get Bailey to trust her. he doesn't put the same faith in her. But he learns his lesson thanks to a very unexpected person. after all all's well that ends well.

Foolish Expectations is a very well-written book with engaging and developed characters. You have a lot of fun going with them on their ride. Bailey has the best comebacks to Nash and their banter is so fun. Overall a great read by Alison Bliss.

I was given an ARC of Stripped by Abby Niles to review. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this novella because it’s a little bit of a departure from her Love to the Extreme series. But I have to say that I was pulled right into this book. Madison is a hard working mother who had just recently gone to work for Jaxon Sutherland. And lets just say that Jax is kind of an ass.

What really impressed me about Madison is she didn't expect anyone to take care of her, she was strong enough to care for herself and her children. She may have wished things were easier or that her daughter wasn't sick, but she didn't make apologies for how she made a living by stripping or how she took care of her kids. I loved that she knocked Jaxon off his high horse when he thought he knew all about her and how she lived her life.

What I didn't expect was to like Jaxon as much as I did. Even though he came across as an epic jerk at the beginning, I fell a little bit in love with him by the end. He’s still kind of entitled, you don’t just toss decades of learned behavior in a few weeks, but being around Madison and her kids teaches him that it’s not all about the money. What he does to win Madison’s love is truly one of my favorite scenes in a book so far this year.

The only complaint I have about this book is that I wish it was longer. I wasn’t ready to leave Maddy and Jax.

I received an ARC for an honest review
This contained ten books about The Sutherlands each book is a stand alone. I feel it is important to say this as if you are expecting this to continue throughout the ten books it is not happening. Each author took a character whether female or male and put them in the family, with a different story line, plot and HEA.
I thought it started off a little slow but it did not take long for me to get into it. I did not know all the authors either and the ones I did it was not necessarily the writing style I am used to by them. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the way this saga was written. There was no way to get bored of the stories since you are not reading the same characters over and over again. I am hoping to see some of them come out in new books as I am curious to see where they would go. I can also say that some of them are way up on the hot scale and some aren't, in other words you get a little bit of everything in this saga. I hope you enjoy it

The Sutherlands are a Texas oil family who do things their own way. This book features ten very different stories with a whole collection of very hot heroes and heroines.
In Robin Covington's Shadow Ranch, you'll meet Eli who's come home to bury his mother and maybe get away from the toxicity of the big city and an equally toxic relationship with a deadbeat gay lover. He's not sure how long he'll stay, but a murder mystery to solve and very hot lawman with whom he'd like to share more than some painful memories will keep him in town, at least for a little while.
In Brazen by Avery Flynn, heroine Bianca Sutherland and her B Squad have to track down the drug kingpin who kidnapped her boarding school friend before he can perfect the powerful new drug that's been hitting the streets.
These are just two of the great stories you'll enjoy, while supporting a charity that supports youth literacy. I couldn't wait to get my copy. Don't wait to get yours and fall in love with your very own Sutherland hero. You'll be glad you did.

Brazen by Avery Flynn was fun, sexy and absolutely wonderful. Bianca and Taz have been dating for 6 months and they are also part of the b squad with their friends and "brothers" that is an undercover investigation ring. They are trying to find a friend of Bianca's and also to help the DEA with a new drug. But there is a surprise when a secret from their past comes out. Can they all work together and find the answers they need.

This is another great read of Avery Flynn's.

Shadow Rancher by Robin Covington was a great quick read about Eli who is back in town on the ranch after his mothers death and he had some things he's run from in Austin where he was living. There is some things going on at the ranch that has brought shep to help Eli out. Who trying to keep Eli away, will Eli and Shep hit it off.

Robin Covington has another great read.

I have read Screwed by Kelly Jamieson, one part of The Sutherlands book. And let me say, I can't wait to read about the rest of this family. I loved Cash! What a crazy position for him to be in, in love with his best friend and business partner's wife, well now ex-wife. Does that still make her off limits? And Callie, what an amazing girl. She is doing exactly what she wants to do with her life, even if her ex husband and family are less than supportive. She got out of a marriage she needed to and is a little surprised that Cash is still around for her when most of their other friends have long since chosen her ex's side. When one night their attraction goes too far will they have the courage to have a relationship no matter his partnership and her family? Or will her ex and family have their say?

I took my Kindle to bed to 'start' Shadow Ranch by Robin Covington - I not only started it, I finished it. I received an early copy of Shadow Ranch (though I have preordered my copy of The Sutherlands anthology!). This is Robin's first m/m romance, and the first m/m romance I've read. I'm so glad Robin was my first! ;) This story was hot, hot, hot.

Eli Sutherland heads back to Shadow Ranch after the death of his mother. He's in a low place, having just gotten out of a bad relationship. Things start to look up when he meets Shep Lockwood, Texas Ranger. He and Shep had met once before, when Eli was just a teenager.

Shadow Ranch by Robin Covington packs a punch from page one. There is a lot that happens in this little novella. I loved the action and suspense and the romance was out-of-this-world. I'm sure I'm not the only one wishing there was a full length novel full of Eli and Shep.

Another great book by Kelly Jamieson !!! Love her style of writing and her strong characters and in this book she didn't disappoint.

Cash and Callie are friends and then become lovers but not without drama.
Cash is Callie's ex-husband friend and business partner. They have continued to be friends afterwards and Cash has always had feelings for Callie but never acted of course.

Callie is not your typical rich girl. She wants love and security and not just material things. When her ex-husband cheats on her she moves on and struggles to find herself until she has an encounter with Cash one night and then it was On. She also has a love of baking which turns out well for her.

This is a must read for Kelly Jamieson fans !!!

I received an ARC of Foolish Expectations by Alison Bliss in exchange for an honest review.

Foolish Expectations tells the story of Nash Sutherland and his relationship with Bailey.

Alison Bliss has this amazing way of telling a story. I loved Foolish Expectations. I honestly could not put the book down. I kept thinking that I had the story figured out and then there would be another twist that took the story down a totally different road than I expected. Such a fun read!

And Bailey and Nash?? Their banter was hilarious and had me laughing throughout the entire book. There was lots of sexy, hotness too! Nash was totally swoon worthy!!! You couldn’t help but root for them and their relationship!

I can’t wait meet the rest of the Sutherlands as I read the rest of the series!
