Sequel to Conquer the Flames
Lang Downs: Book Five

Seth Simms never wanted to be a cowboy, although to listen to his best friend, Jason Thompson, tell it, he isn’t one. He just happens to have lucked out in coming to live on Lang Downs with his brother ten years ago. He found enough stability to finish high school and go off to university, but he never really believed Lang

Cherish the Land is the fifth book in Ariel Tachna’s Lang Downs series. I’ve been a fan of this series for the last couple of years and I always love visiting the Lang Downs men.

Seth and Jason’s story has been on my radar for a while now. When I heard book five was going to be their book, I was ecstatic. And I’m so glad Ariel Tachna finally gave us their story.

Seth and Jason are best friends. They have been since they met in book two. Friendship isn’t all that’s between them, though. But

Ok first thing I want to get out of the way here is one of my pet peeves, mostly because it didn't happen and I soooooooooo appreciate that. When I look on GR because yeah, it is my main reference source for book info it tells me this book is 220 pages long. Now when I open the book it tells me there's somewhere around 242 pages and you know what? I don't care because I know going into this that I'm getting 220 pages of story and that's what I got I didn't feel cheated at the end because I thoug ...more

I can't believe I hadn't read this book already. I had been waiting for Seth and Jason's story for so long, yet I bought it and completely forgot. I've read it now, and I loved it. Not that I'm surprised. This series is like manna for me. I just want it to keep going.

Seth has issues. These issues are heart breaking. Jason is a super sweet all around awesome guy. There's one plot thread that wasn't resolved, but it was really important to Seth. It's as if it was mentioned, but t

I have been looking forward to Seth and Jason’s story for a while now. I liked the idea of best friends being in love with each other but both also totally clueless about the other’s feelings. Hiding it for fear of rejection. Add in some self-harm and this book was calling for me for a long while. There’s just something about troubled characters that draws me in.

Jason has lived on the station for his entire life, it’s his home, and it’s where his family is. And apart f

"Lang Downs still stands as a place for people who need it most." Thank you Ms Tachna for a beautiful trip back home to visit with the family. This series is one of my all time favorites. Well written books about a growing band of misfits that find a true family in one of the most unlikely places on earth. These books just leave me smiling and feeling good.

I find the Lang Downs series a real comfort read and book 5, Cherish the Land, was no different. It felt like spending time with the family, albeit a family that is often a little dysfunctional.

This is Seth and Jason’s story and as is usually the case with the men on the station it doesn’t run smoothly. Seth and Jason have been best friends since childhood but lost touch with each other when they went off to college. Jason has been in

Beautiful Ending to a Beautiful Tale

What Caine and Macklin hath wrought at Lang Downs has come full circle with the promise of boyhood pals Seth and Jason coming home after being apart for seven years, home where both of them hope the other might return what has developed into serious obsessions for both of them--each other.

But that's not the whole story Ariel Tachna unwinds here in what is likely to be (and, really, should be) the finale of a wonderfully enchanting series of love stories played

3.5 Heart Review by Vicki

Jason and Seth have been best friends for years, growing up at Lang Downs a big sheep farm in Australia. Ten years ago Chris, Seth’s older brother, was attacked and beaten, Seth ran in to Macklin and Caine, the couple that own the farm, who helped the boys and got them to Lang Downs. Chris is gay, and found his partner Jesse, and settled in to life on Lang Downs. Chris was happy with his friend Jason, but the boys went their separate ways for school, and have only had mi

I think this is probably the FINAL book of Lang Downs series? Because it seemed like it tied up all loose ends, including 'matching' up Jason and Seth, who have been together as best friends since early in book #2.

Cherish the Land had two major plots. One is Seth and Jason. The other one is the death of Devlin Taylor, Jeremy's older brother as well as owner of Taylor Peak. This shook up Lang Downs quite a bit because now Jeremy becomes the owner of that neighborhood ranch, which means

4.5 Stars ~ Review: This was my first visit to Lang Downs, and I have to say I would like to visit again, and maybe stay there forever. Cherish the Land starts out with Seth coming from a broken relationship with a girl who doesn’t understand his love of the land he wants to return to. He seems to miss his family and his best friend, Jason.

You immediately understand that the pairing will be Jason and Seth. I just wish they had understood it. It seems a lifetime of non-communication caused this w

Well, I can't say I loved these books but I also can't say they were bad.
They were okayish.
When the book started I was so interested I would promise myself I'll finish it by the night. & everything was going good, the needed tension, the whole story in general, & we reach the climax & everything ruins.
In book 3, I was having fun with Ian & Thorne, but after a point the story felt like it was dragging on for no apparent reason! & then Ian reveals the secret & I so didn'

I re-read the first four books before reading this one and it was fantastic to read the entire series together. In each book we get to see most of the characters from earlier books, but the author does a fantastic job of making it all sync together so that you never feel the current romantic pair is slighted in any way.

While the ending of this book could be an excellent wrap up of the whole series, I can't help but hope that we get more stories about this corner of Australia. I already miss the

no matter what this series is definitely an auto buy for me I love the setting the characters etc
I have to say this book could have been a bit more . I enjoyed it but I kind of wished there would have been more especially on the intimicy and contact level

The weakest in the series. The plot was dragging a lot. It didn't help that the story was as much about Seth and Jason finding their way as about Jeremy and Sam trying the run a ranch after Jeremy's brother took a fall.

Nikyta did a lovely review of the book here: https://thebloggergirls.com/2015/06/2...

I agree with her assessment and here are my thoughts:

Seth and Jason have been friends for the last 10 years. Seth has had a very hard time over those 10 years and is very untrusting of any happiness in his life. Both Jason and Seth find themselves newly single and when Jason’s most recent ex lets it be known that he’s jealous of Jason’s crush on the “straight” Seth, Seth finally allows himself to acknowledge his

My first in this series. And I didn’t feel lost.

Seth and Jason have been best friends for ten plus years. Problem is neither one has told each other how they feel.

Everyone knows Jason is gay, no one Seth is bi. Or at least GFY.

When both men come back to the station to start a new chapter in life.

So I have to stay, I wasn’t a fan. The base story was fine. Two boys go away to college, come back as men. Finally decide to come clean on the feelings. And the sub stories are fine as well, hated brothe

If you are a fan of Ariel Tachna’s sweeping Australian outback series Lang Downs (and who isn’t?), you are going to love, love, love episode 5: Cherish the Land. Not only does Ms. Tachna include a cast of characters and their roles in the series thus far in the introduction, she gives us a look at how they are doing now. This isn’t a boring rehash of previous stories, though. It moves forward with Seth and Jason’s story, which is exciting, emotional, and takes Lang Downs and the neighboring stat ...more

**AUDIOBOOK REVIEW**

I have to say that while I really enjoyed the two men and the way their story came together, I didn't particularly like how much of the Taylor's story we got. I understand that it was necessary, but sometimes I just couldn't wait for their part of the story to be over so we could get to our boys.. well, the men they'd grown into.

I loved that we'd seen these boys together in the previous books and as they grew up and then we got to follow along as they got their happy

This isnthe sixth installment of this series, set on an Australian sheep station. While it's essentially Seth and Jason's story it's a lot more than that. Lang Downs and the people that call ot home have an integeral part on the story. Jason is back at Lang Downs having qualified as a vet and his childhood friend Seth is also back - having realised that the station is where he belongs. While the pair get together, Seth's anxieties about abandonment resurface, as does his unhealthy coping mechani ...more

Family

This is ostensibly Seth's and Jason's story. The young ones returning to Lang Downs to be all year rounders in the only place they call home but also to be close to the one you loved the most.
Not so easy f o r Seth when he struggles to see what in himself anyone could love.
Some readers have been frustrated that although Seth and Jason are the main protagonists there are several side stories. These are essential character terms to understand the making of them both within their 'family'. It

Audiobook Review

I enjoyed this audiobook much more than the ebook. There is a lot going on in this book; not just with Jason and Seth, but Sam and Jeremy also have a prominent role. I love this narrator's performance of this series. He really brings these men to life. He does a great job with all the emotional turmoil that Jeremy and Seth display. I think that got lost for me in the ebook. I'm really going to miss the Lang's Down crew, but this is a nice end to the series.
