Stories about matchmakers are fun, but when the matchmakers are men, well, I couldn't resist. Cooper, Ty and Gideon have been friends since high school. They live in Alaska and hang out at the local bar. Ty was a hockey star and was their ticket to the Lower 48, but a career-ending injury put a halt to those plans. One day, while watching a lifestyle report on TV, they came up with the idea that they would be great matchmakers. They made a bet with the owner of the bar, Coach, that they could ge ...more

You know a book is good if you are still thinking about it a couple days later! AND, you are "wondering" what the characters are up to now but then have to remind yourself they aren't real! I enjoyed this collection of stories about 3 best friends in a small Alaskan town who have known each other since grade school. They decide to make a bet with "Coach" who is the owner of the local bar/grill that they can be matchmakers for 6 couples in 3 weeks. No one in town can believe it since there are ha ...more

The three men the novellas focus on are just feeling sorry for themselves for being stuck in a rut in their small hometown in Alaska. Their angst and the bar setting with the drinking was off-putting, but once they put their efforts into helping the single members of the community improve their social lives the stories got more fun as they came up with interesting group activities to do in the dead of winter. The first two stories were okay but I loved the third one! It redeemed the book for me. ...more

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I am a sucker for stories set in Alaska so I was very happy to read this group. I have a favorite, Suddenly Sophie by Anna J. Stewart but let me tell you a bit about all three. In Baby, Baby, I admit that it took me a looooooooooonnnnnnnggggggggg time to start to like Nora Perry, our heroine in this first story. Without any spoilers, to me she was just as culpable as Cooper Hamilton (our hero). I just wanted to say, “Get over yours ...more

What do you do when you are three grown men stuck in a small town in the very cold and isolated part of Alaska? You make a bet with the local bartender that you can become the town's very own trio of matchmakers, of course! Following three rough and burly men as they take on a town of men that only shave once a year and would rather ice fish and swap stories over beers than converse with the opposite sex: Cooper Hamilton, Ty Porter, and Gideon Walker have their work cut out for them. Three short stories based on a bet . Set in Alaska where men outnumber the ladies 3 to one, a bet has Ty, Cooper and Gideon trying to match 6 couples and if they win they get dream jobs in the lower 48 with a pro hockey team. Sort of predictable it's still a fun read with each of the gentlemen matching each other with very special women. Perfect with Valentine's day coming up.

I loved this grouping of short stories. They were seamless and funny and quirky. The Alaskan town and all its natives were a fantastic backdrop. The three bachelors and bachelorettes were fun and easy to read!

This collection of short stories has been a pleasure to read. It's a collection that tells of what happens to three friends when they make a bet that can make all there dreams come true, if they win. Melinda Curtis, Cari Lynn Webb and Anna J. Stewart tell Coop, Ty and Gideon's stories respectively, and as the stories evolve, each one will see life a little differently to what they thought before they took the bet. Note: I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review.

Well, this trio of authors has delivered another great read. The stories are fun, yet deliver some life lessons at the same time.

The collection opens with a scene showing 4 men - 3 best friends and their coach from high school days. The three have had mutual goals of leaving their small town, Alaska, and landing jobs in the Lower 48. However, one event after the next has blocked them. Now, they're in their mid 20's and still in Alaska.

Make Me a Match contains three novellas by Melinda Curtis, Cari Lynn Webb, and Anna J. Stewart. I was given an advance copy for my honest review. I love anything I’ve read by Melinda Curtis (also Mel Curtis) and Anna J. Stewart and this was a first read for me by Cari Lynn Webb. I thoroughly enjoyed the three stories and loved how the authors wove the characters and stories together so flawlessly, it felt like I was reading one cohesive story by one author.

Ty, Coop, and Gideon have spent their whole lives trying to get out of their small hometown K-Bay. This book, three in one, follow their journey of one last shot. Here the deal... They have two weeks to help six couple fall in love and ring the bell over the bar. (Yes, a bar but its more like a diner because everyone is welcome, even kids)

Book One- Cooper and Nora. Nora shows up at the bar one night with a baby. Is it Coops? Don't know yet, but they are snowed in for now so time will tell. Okay,

Make Me a Match is an enjoyable novella collection centering on three best friends who are promised hockey jobs outside of Alaska if they can get six couples together before Valentine's Day. The premise is the stuff of Hallmark films, and it's great for a rainy day. (Or in my case today, a snow day!)

Baby, Baby by Melinda Curtis: When Nora shows up in town with a baby in tow, Coop is hesitant to believe she could be his. But soon Nora—and her baby—begin to soften Coop's heart. I really loved Nora

This set is about three men who all have a dream they want to come true and things have a way of changing your future in a whole new direction. They make a bet with a friend of theirs and now they have started a matchmaking business. Who wins the bet, you need to buy the set to see.

Baby Baby by Melinda Curtis was about a man named Cooper and a lady from his past. I always hate saying to much about the book and giving the best parts away. So let me just say that his dreams were focused on him and

I have a soft spot in my heart for matchmakers and this one really intrigued me with three men doing the matching. Each story is about one of the Trinity--three men who have been friends since childhood and who are pretty much like brothers. Ty is set to go pro in hockey, before an injury ended his career. Gideon and Cooper were ready to ride on his coattails to get out of small town Alaska and head to the Lower 48. Each is desperate to get out of K-Bay and a bet made after seeing a news segment ...more

Their plan to get out is to be matchmakers and win their bet with Coach, the bar owner where they hang out. What happens next is pure romance. Do they succeed? In Baby, Baby by Melinda Curtis Cooper Hamilton gets the surprise of his life when Nora Perry tracks him down with a baby in toe and announces that he's the father. Let the fireworks begin! Three bachelors turned ‘matchmakers’ to win a bet set off a string of events in this Alaskan town.
I love reading collections where different authors come together to write stories where a group of characters come together and interact in each of the different works. Each of these are novella length and would not completely stand-alone – but almost.
Baby, Baby – Normally the Heartwarming novels are clean. I would consider this more sketchy clean – or PG-13. We aren’t privy to details, but we know

What a fun idea for a book. This book is three novellas in one, each revolving around one of three characters that we meet in the first book. They are friends who have common interests and goals and get sucked into a bet of sorts where they become the town matchmakers. It's a funny concept because these men are in no way suave or experienced in that way. Actually, they are kind of lunk heads. Each novella follows one man and his journey in love- even though that's not what he is looking

My 4 star review is mostly for Anna Stewart's story, Suddenly Sophie. I connected best with her characters Gideon and Sophie...more so than I did with Coop and Nora or Ty and Kelsey ( wasn't her fan at all). I also felt the first two stories were rushed, which is sometimes a problem with novellas, especially connected ones.
The premise was interesting...3 guys becoming matchmakers to win a bet, which will enable them to leave their small Alaskan town. Circumstances 7 years earlier kept them home,

Make Me a Match contains a trio of stories by Melinda Curtis, Cari Lynn Webb, and Anna J. Stewart. The novellas are matrimony themed romances set in the same town in Alaska. Each story evokes laughter and a sense of fun from the imagination of the reader due to the interaction of the characters. With the use of male protagonists, these novellas provide a real and visual perspective that is counter to the traditional portrayal of matchmaking efforts in other books using a female perspective. I was given this book free for writing an honest review by Melinda Curtis and Anna Stewart. This book set was fantastic. Three best friends known to take bets take on a bet from their former hockey coach and small town bar owner. The bet was to make love matches by Valentines day.

Imagine what 3 confirmed bachelors will come up with to beat the bet. will the set up romantic settings. Will they turn over new leaves for all the gentleman and ladies in town?

This trio of novellas provided a fairly entertaining read. “Baby, Baby” by Melinda Curtis features a pregnant heroine and a surprised father-to-be. Curtis was the only one of the three authors I had read before, and I generally like her books. However, the hero had zero appeal for me, and that led to an overall mediocre rating (3 stars) for this story. I felt that “The Matchmaker Wore Skates” by Cari Lynn Webb needed to be a full novel. I liked the basic story, but I thought characters and plot ...more
