For every action, there is a reaction.

People aren’t always who they say they are. Everyone has their secrets. Some are more evil than I ever thought imaginable.

I was left broken and alone after my boyfriend was murdered in my bar.

An old acquaintance moves into Liam’s home and a spark is ignited deep inside me.

Becoming vulnerable made me weak, and I never saw it coming.

I think the synopsis for this book pretty much gives us a good look at some of the events that are going to occur. I went in expecting someone to be some sort of stalker or something of the like. This story isn't very long so the build up happened pretty quickly but I can say I didn't feel like it was lacking in any area.

Tinsley is mourning the loss of her boyfriend. While she's coming to terms with his death she meets someone and sparks fly, only this man is very mystery. Mystery can be a good

Wow. I knew nothing about this book when I started and I was hooked from the first page. Leighton Riley takes an intense story of love, passion, and obsession, creating a tale of suspense, intrigue, and danger. Catalyst is the story of a woman who has loved and lost. She starts to open and love again but everything takes a dramatic turn for the crazy. Around every corner there was a new twist in the plot and a building intensity that kept drawing me to what I was reading. I read this book fast, ...more

Before I talk about the review I want to say that the marketing of this book piqued my interest right from the start. We received a challenge to read a “mystery book” without knowing the author, title, etc. What can I say--I couldn’t resist and I’m very happy I didn’t.

Catalyst is a suspense/thriller/mystery with an underlying romantic plot. It grabbed me right from the start as Tinsley was grieving the murder of her fiancé, Liam. Liam didn’t have a good relationship with his father and, dear ol

“Everything I know has been ripped away from me. I’m stuck in my head for fear that if I let it out, I’ll crumble into a thousand tiny pieces with no one there to pick them up. I have never felt so utterly alone. I am numb, yet fragile. At any moment, I could see myself turning into dust.”

Have you ever picked up a book that you knew absolutely nothing about? No idea what the cover looks like or what the synopsis is? You’re just told that there’s an exciting contemporary romance worth checking ou

* I was asked to review this book with no idea of who wrote it or what it was about in exchange for honest review*

I truly hate giving bad reviews. It's not in my nature. But I do feel the need to point a few things out. It's not against the author, just what killed this book for me.

This book has some great potential. But it needs lots of editing. LOTS OF EDITING!

It felt like there were a ton of thoughts thrown out there and sort of put together to make a story. If this was edited properly, I cou

When I received this book I had no idea what I was getting into, seriously it came as a mystery ARC with title and author blurred. So it made me real hesitant but intrigued at the same time (I'm a creature of habit and go for authors and genres I know).

The author pulls you in right from the start and makes you feel everything that Tinsley is going through, heartache, lose, grief and finally what you think is healing. There are a lot and I mean A LOT of twists and turns in this story. I thought

I will keep this review shirt and sweet because it is supposed to be a mystery. There were twists and turns at every corner. I absolutely loved this book. Just when you think you know what's going to happen next, Boom, it changes. You will be hooked from beginning to end. I give this a definite 5 stars.

I started this book without knowing much about it. I got a short blurb, but that is it. The author and title were a mystery to me. I honestly had no idea what I was getting into. What started out as a read that I thought would be 5 Hearts quickly spiraled down to 3 Hearts.

This story begins with Tinsley mourning the loss of her boyfriend, Liam, who was murdered in a bar that she owns. It has been months, and she (of course) has trouble moving on. He was the one for her. They were planning a futur

I received this book as a mystery ARC. I knew nothing about this book from author, title or even synopsis but I do love to go into a book blind (adds to the excitement).

I can honestly say that this book was incredible. The story flows, you’re gripped from the beginning where poor Tinsley is sitting on the curb.

After her boyfriend is murdered, Tinsley has the support of her two best friends who try to help guide her because she is so lost by when happened. Tinsley then unexpectedly finds out the

First off I loved this book! Secondly, I’m not quite sure how to write a review for Catalyst. I don’t want to say too much and ruin all the twists and turns Leighton Riley takes you on. The book starts off with the main character, Tinsley, trying to cope with the murder of her boyfriend and soul mate, Liam. In the bits and pieces of flashback Tinsley has throughout the novel you fall in love with their love. They were adorable and fun together, they seemed just about as perfect as two people can ...more

"Some days, I don't even try to stop the bleeding. I embrace the pain. I deserve it."

When I received the arc of this one, it came with no indication as to what it was. It had no author, title, synopsis.... all I knew was the genre. I took a chance and I'm glad I did.

This novel is a something completely different than Leighton Riley's previous ones. I love that she took a risk on this one and gave us something slightly outside the norm.

I felt like the first third of the book moved

When we signed up to review this one all we got was the synopsis. We didn't know the title or author. I thought it was a different but neat idea. I'm not sure if knowing the title and author would had made a different because the synopsis alone makes it look like a good story.

I was hooked right from the beginning. We meet Tinsley at a low point in her life. She has just lost her boyfriend, Liam, who was the love of her life. Tinsley even though she is facing tough times is a strong character. S

This was an exciting sign up !! We didn't know the author , title and we couldn't even see the full cover. The blurb was enticing and the mystery of it all was what pushed me to sign on. Once I found out who the author was I wasn't surprised that I was interested. I have enjoyed her work before and again the blurb was full of suspense. This story moves at a fast pace and although we do get a bit of backstory I would have enjoyed more of Noah and Tinsley's past because I love that whole best frie ...more

When we got the email about this book, I was intrigued. We had nothing to go on and it was a complete mystery, and that is why I had to read the book. The absence of information was almost impossible to resist. I guess that’s why the gang in Scooby Doo always jumps in when a mystery is presented to them. I started reading this book with an open mind and zero expectations, but as I delved into the story, I started to build up expectations and I have to say…I was a little disappointed in the end. ...more

I was given the ARC for this book without a synopsis or an author’s name. I got to see the cover right after I received it, and I have to say, I really liked it. Even with all that right after i jumped into it, I was captured. I stayed involved in the story more than half way through – it had everything I like in a romantic suspense – it had mystery, intrigue and a great heroine. But after about the 50% mark I felt it was rushed and quite predictable.

Catalyst is told mainly in 1st person POV an

Catalyst by Leighton Riley

This is a different read than I thought it would be. Tinsley has lost her boyfriend, the man that she was building a life with, it was a shock when he was murdered. His father then sells the house that he owned. She has one last request when she sees the house, just to go inside one more time before the new owner takes the house.

She is in the house when the new owner comes to measure up. Maguire is a different character and at first it is hard to work out what his motiv

A little back story...I was asked to read a book. No synopsis, no author name, no nothin'! And I jumped on it.
I usually read mainly romance novels with HEA's but I was willing to jump in and try it out!

So glad I did.

This book had the what I love (romance) but a little bit of suspense and angst.

This poor woman, Tinsley, has to endure the tragic loss of her boyfriend, her home and she can't even go to work because that is where he was murdered. It really couldn't get much worse.

Thankfully she reco

Well this book was literally presented to us as a mystery, no name, no author name, no synopsis just going in blind as ever... but that really did intrigue me to the highest degree. So when I found out the name and the author I was surprised and should have known who it was by the way the story went. Leighton Riley you seriously destroyed me in Regretfully and Catalyst had the same type of ending so needless to say I was a little upset towards the end of this story. Sunny's Review:

This book was really good. I was sucked in from the very beginning. The author did a great job of making you feel everything that Tinsley was feeling. You feel really bad for her because she is so sad messed up over Liam's death. Understandable, obviously, but you still just feel so bad for her. I was pretty happy when Tinsley started to try to move on. I didn't really like Maguire from the beginning but I was happy that he was bringing her back around. I LOVED Noah. He is the bes

Received an ARC for review

This was a different story for me. I am usually more of an “erotic” reader, but it was a nice change.

You have Tinsley. She is a woman who is mourning the loss of the love of her life, Liam. She owns three restaurants and he was murdered in one of her restaurants and she found him.

She runs into someone she knew from back in college, Maguire. He knows about what has happened to Tinsley and knows what

A mystery ARC, no author, no title and no synopsis had us going in totally blind, reading a book that I had no idea what to expect, no idea what type of story it would be and no idea who the author was to gauge the writing style was how this book was presented to our blog and how the ARC was delivered. Catalyst is my first book by this author. I will definitely be checking out more of her work.

When I started reading I thought it was a tragic story of loss and a second chance at love. Well, it is that, but so much more. Riley gave me some great twist and page turning chapters as the story progressed.

Don't want to give anything away so won't go into detail about the story. The synopsis is all you need to know going in.

3.5 stars for this book

So at first i started reading this book and it was very emotional and i was enjoying it and worried it was going to be all hearts and flowers, with unicorns roaming about. Do not get me wrong i can occasionally read these books but they generally are few and far between. But then BAM!!! the book shifts on it axis and becomes grittier and full of secrets and surprises. So i really began to get along with it. the reason i am giving this book 3.5 not the full 4 stars is there

I received the book knowing it would be a surprise with no title and author to link it with. Which made it even more exciting. The book was non stop. It kept my interest from the beginning of the story to the last page of the book. I liked Tinsley. She was believable and was down to earth. Not whiny and is reasonable. She is mourning the death of her past lover. Now trying to move on, she has to get back to real life and try to start to date.
Maguire is interested in Tinsley from the beginning.

OMG "Catalyst"!!! This is such a dark read and I'm still trying to wrap my head around the story itself. It's complicated and twisted in it's perfection.

When Tinsley's boyfriend is murdered in her bars storeroom she struggles to move on to a new future, when he was her future and all she ever wanted. Soon after Liam's death his father sells the home and kicks her out, but the home happens to get bought by a former college classmate of hers. He's obviously interested in her, and she eventually r

This book hooked me by the synopsis. Normally I like to see the cover first then the read the synopsis and then I'll decided if I want to go ahead and read the book. I didn't have the choice to see the cover before reading this book. It was kind fun going in without knowing who the author was or what the cover looked like, It was like a blind date; kinda nerve-wracking, scary but usually a good time. This was a fun and exciting little experiment.

The sign up for receiving an ARC of this book was intriguing to say the least. It was a mystery author, mystery storyline, we would only be given the details just before release. Reading a book without knowing the background was a little strange at first, but the story grabbed me very quickly.

I plan on having Sinfully be the first of three in its series. I would like to do a standalone after, but we’ll see! I love sweet tea (made right!), cookie cake, and anything with chocolate and peanut butter. I have a few guys at my gym that are my TDF’s ...more
