This book of self-healing can set you on your way to increased feelings of well-being and a renewed way of connecting with life.
Let me preface my review of Carolyn S. Barnes’ RETURN TO EASE: GENTLY RECONNECT WITH YOUR BODY’S NATURAL MOBILITY & JOY (read the book’s Introduction at https://snooze2awaken.wordpress.com/2...) by stating that I was given a review copy of the book by the author, who also graciously provided me with the foam roller and ball I needed to assess whether her suggestions for self-myofascial release were helpful.
That said, I would have gladly purchased RETURN TO EASE anyway. For starters, it’s beautiful, featuring a gorgeous layout and selection of photographs to rival any softcover coffee table book.
RETURN TO EASE is also beautifully written, with an elegant simplicity in form that mirrors its graceful essence in content. As a fellow nonfiction writer of books on health and wellness, I was impressed by the author’s ability to convey powerful, potentially life-changing information in ways that most readers can easily understand and implement.
The experience of “returning to ease” with this important new self-healing aid begins with simply appreciating the words and images in the book itself—even before one progresses to the various stretches and techniques for relaxation and release that are clearly pictured and explained.
Throughout, the author shines as a master teacher of strategies and techniques that transcend theory and actually produce lasting results—at least in my case—while also promoting empowerment through experimentation and discovery of what works for the individual.
I was a fan of bodywork, therapeutic massage and myofascial release before I read RETURN TO EASE—and now I’m an even bigger fan, and far more equipped to work on myself than ever before. Highly, enthusiastically recommended.
I purchased this book directly from the Author, Carolyn Barnes, who I am blessed to have as my Myofascial Release Therapist. Everything about this book is magical.
