I've been anxiously anticipating Lupo's story and it did not disappoint at all, all the contrary, it is exceptional! Ms. La Porta has truly gifted us with her Immortal series. It is superb and this one is no exception, so much, suffering, hope, joy, love and passion in all her books, proof that the Italian people are passionate in life and love.

In spite of what Lupo has suffered at birth ,at 20 years of age he has accomplished what might take most a life time to achieve.
When he finally finds love it is yanked right out of his life in a very short time. After having found his father and a family full of love for him, he suffers countless attacks on his person in prison for a crime he didn't commit and suffers the loss of his love.

When he is finally reunited with his family, he is once again yanked from them and forced to be judged a second time, with no jury of his peers this time, and condemned to death. Only now he has something to live for, he has been handed a non descript message with the scent of his loved one.
Can it be that he has a chance at happiness once again, or is it a cruel joke to prolong his agony?

This story will have you crying from sadness and happiness at the same time. It is a roller coaster of emotions!

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

In the wake of tragedy, Lupo picks up where the last book left off, The Lonely Wolf. Danger lurks around every corner even Lupo's own mind. He must not only learn how to survive but also how to live.
I enjoyed Lupo's story. The story was full of action and danger. Once the story picked up it took off and I couldn't put it down.
Lupo's character was intriguing and his story was a great addition to the series.
The cover itself speaks for Lupo's sexy character. I mean it's absolutely gorgeous and caught my eye. If I wasn't already going to read this, I would've picked it up based on the cover along.

I received this for an honest review. This is the first book I have read of Monica La Porta. She puts a different spin on the paranormal world. I love it when an author lets their imagination go wild. This book shows so much creativity.

Lupo had a hard life, all the way from the time he was born on up into adulthood. His mother died at child birth and he was put in foster care. His father had no idea he had a son. The only life Lupo knew was foster care, then gang, then prison. It truly seemed life was not giving him a break.

Lupo was in prison for the death of his true mate. He had mated with a purist which meant his heart would never belong to another. Lupo spent his time in prison feeling that he deserved where he was at. The one thing he did look forward to was his fathers’ visits I thought it was cool that Lupo who was a wolf shifter had a father that was an Archangel.

I just loved Lupo’s fathers. Yes fathers. They were both Archangels and loved him so dearly. I almost believe they would of done anything to get him out of prison. And even though Lupo’s mother was dead he had Camelia who was like a mother to him.

One thing that kept Lupo sane in prison was he got to talk to his dead mate Jasmine. He spoke to her mentally all the time.Though he knew she was dead he could not help but enjoy those times.

There are a few surprises after Lupo is released. He also finds himself in danger. While he was in prison he knew someone was wanting him beat up or killed, now he knows that the threat was coming from the outside.

I have to say this is a very heartfelt story. Trust me when I say you will want to know how it ends.

I was gifted an ARC of 'Lupo' from Monica La Porta, in exchange for an honest review.

There was absolutely NO confusion with just who this book was about, once I started I was sucked into Lupo's life once again. Starting right after book 7 'The Lonely Wolf', which I HIGHLY recommend you read first, maybe even read "The Immortals" series from the start... Lupo has been sentenced to a year in prison, what a fun filled year Lupo is stuck with (please note the sarcasm in this sentence). The canstant heartache after losing Jasmine, the black hole in Lupo's heart, the attacks because of WHO Lupo is & the vendetta against him... had me seriously aching. I can't say much more without giving away an entire plot, but I can say it left me gripping my seat, unable to stop reading. I had tears, crossed my fingers, wished with all my might.... that everything would be alright. OMG I couldn't stop, I had to find out just what was going to happen.... WOW. I can't wait to read what Monica La Porta comes up with next.

Lupo is the eighth book in author Monica La Porta’s The Immortal series. The majority of the books can be read as stand alones but If you haven’t read the Lonely Wolf, book 7, I think you may be a little lost, no, you WILL be. There are things you need to know before you read this.

Ok so with that being said, I absolutely ADORE Lupo. What an amazing young alpha he is. His love for his mate is like no other! Sadly he is in prison during the first half of this story, because of what happens in the previous book...see ya need to read that first!! lol. Ok well, prison, yeah it sucks and he gets all the attention for all the wrong reasons. His father is well known and Lupo also has enemies from his former associates. They like to pay him visits every now and then. His Mate’s father wants him dead and gone and will stop at nothing to achieve that.

I found this book to be very interesting, the storyline pulled me in and kept me interested from the beginning. Please be sure to read Lonely Wolf first!! Happy reading :)

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review,

I have not read any of the books in this series before now but I will be.
Monica is an amazing author, and this book is absolutely amazing, I fell
in love with Lupo, what he went through in prison and after is just heartbreaking.
Without giving anything away I have to say I cried at the end of the book, I kept forgetting how young Lupo
actually is I felt like I was reading about a soul that was as old as time. I Highly recommended this book to all even if shifter stories are not your genre this is a amazing love story. Thank you so much for allowing me the honor to have been chosen to read this book and review it I wish I was able to express in words better how the book touched my heart.

Werewolf Lupo has lost everything as his soulmate Jasmine died in a tragic accident which he feels responsible for. The paranormal court sentenced him to 12 months in the Roman prison Regina Coeli where past enemies plus his own regrets mean it is only his imaginary conversations with Jasmine that are keeping him sane. As he is released he is forced to deal with the real life and the thought that Jasmine is actually alive in his mind. Can he find the strength to fight for his life and have a happy ending?

This was a story that was both sweet and dramatic as Lupo had to deal with the worst that the prison and inmates there had to offer. Thankfully he wasn't going mad and Jasmine was, in fact, alive - however, he is going to need every bit of strength he can muster if he is going to find and save her. This was definitely a bit of a rollercoaster of a story which I really enjoyed. It was well written and very enjoyable as everything was unfolding. You don't need to have read the previous books in the series although it will give you extra context for the relationships between the othe characters in the story.

I have enjoyed this series and Lupo has had such a harsh start in life you just have to love him. This book continues where we left off in Quintilius' book and the love Lupo lost.

The author has clearly spent time getting to know the city of Rome and it's history. The world building and characters are well developed and believable. Enjoyable and emotional story of true love.

Why is it that everytime I read a book by Monica La Porta, my emotions are in hyperdrive? Because she is a brilliant author that's why! I have made it a habit , that there is nothing to disturb me whilst I am immersed in her Immortal's world. The need to be a part of it all is overwhelming and borderline obsessive. Lupo is the 8th in the series and continues where we left off in The Lonely Wolf. Brave and strong, both in body and in mind is not enough to describe this amazing young man. The transition from misguided criminal to outstanding son has been portrayed impressively. The author does not mess about with unnecessary chitchat. The book is about Lupo, his heartbreak, his unconditional love for Jasmine and his acceptance to a new existence, one that he is not familiar with. The majority of all her characters make an appearance, but only on the sidelines. That is the beauty of Monica La Porta's work, her focus is on Lupo and his inner circle. And that's how it should be. Quintilius and Ludwig are there to help him in this most important transition and so is Camelia. Raphael is friendship and loyalty personified. What a joy when my suspicions were confirmed, but I honestly did not see the last twist coming. The author graciously gave me an ARC in return for an honest review, as she had always done with every book in this series and I have come to not only look forward to the next one, but in all honesty say that they are the highlight of the year. Monica La Porta, you are amazing and I am positive that more readers will certainly give you the dues you so justly deserve.

If you follow Monica La Porta’s Immortals series, then you know where Lupo’s tragic story left off at the end of The Lonely Wolf. After running away with Jasmine, his Purist were-panther mate, a fatal police chase leaves Lupo devastated and set to spend a year sentence in Regina Coeli, the paranormal prison. Lupo’s grief nearly saps him of his will to live, and only the love and dedication of the father he’d only just been reunited with gives Lupo the strength to prevail. Even with prominent fathers pulling strings to ensure his stay at Regina Coeli is as comfortable as can be expected, Lupo endures harsh treatment, crooked guards, and attacks orchestrated by those he’s slighted on the outside, looking for revenge. Lupo has imaginary conversations with Jasmine to pass the time in prison, only questioning their merit when the conversations suddenly stop. Is it a sign from the Great Wolf that it’s time to move on? Or does it mean something more?

Without giving anything away, I think it’s at least safe to say that Lupo’s story gets the closure it deserves at the end of this book. There are some definite tense moments, and some really, wonderfully descriptive bits about the Roman setting. As always, La Porta delivered another thrilling, colorful tale of star-crossed love, danger, and mystery, all set in the secret paranormal world of the Immortals series.

Wow - I am loving this series!

Lupo Solis has been sentenced to a year in prison for the death/kidnapping of his girlfriend Jasmine. He is back in Regina Coeli, one of the most dangerous prisons where his father's connections are supposed to be keeping him safe - yet that's not happening. Someone there has lots of connections and money and there is definitely some dangerous drugs around the prison that are different than anything Lupo has seen before. Can Lupo survive in prison and if he does, can he survive on the outside without Jasmine? Hearing her voice is the only thing keeping him going.

This book was amazing and so full of surprises from start to finish. I love so much about Lupo, his fathers Quintilus and Ludwig and all of their friends that really rally together for them. Lupo definitely shows his weaknesses in the book with how distraught he is over losing Jasmine, yet her memory continues to give him strength.

I loved also how there were new things in this book - like the drugs - that took me by surprise in how they affected people. There are so many different links between people, yet there was a lot of goodness in certain people that helped Lupo.

I can't wait to read more of this series and I find it hard to write more without giving away anything!

ONE OF MY FAVORITES SO FAR.....

This book reminded me of the idiocy of prejudice. People are people. The same can be said of paranormals. This story shows us the seedier side of life along with prejudice out of control.

This is also a book of young love, everlasting love and how strong love can make people better together than apart. Immense suffering can make someone stronger but I wouldn't recommend suffering.

This series is one of my all time favorite series. Author, Monica LaPorta has managed to not follow the pack of authors that believe erotica is a plot. These books are a real story with interesting characters, plot lines within plot lines and every type of action, adventure, mystery, suspense and love all balanced together to be a work of art. Most younger authors take years and years to develop a signature style. I think Ms. LaPorta will be a favorite author of mine for years to come. I think any reader of paranormal romance will enjoy this series of books. While they can stand alone you will enjoy them more if you start with "Lost Centurion" the first book and read them in order, you will be glad you did.

On to book 9......see you at the end.

KUDOS Ms. LaPorta on a tale well told.

I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review . This is actually a new author, and series for me. I can tell you I will be obtaining and reading the whole series . I read this story in one sitting. I fell in love with Lupo from the first chapter. His strength and resolve is empowering . His father's are the best, who wouldn't want an archangel and alpha shifter for parents. Lupo is serving time in jail for the death of his mate. He blames himself for his soul mate jasmine s death, and feels that he deserves the sentence that was handed to him and the nightmares that come with it. The story is filled with twists and turns I never saw coming, and I read a lot. From an unwanted orphan , to a murderer , to a free man, Lupo has to find his own way and seek the truth that has been so long denied him if he ever hopes to find true love again . I really enjoyed how LaPorta integrated many of the world's prejudices into the story line . If you are a fan of paranormal , mystery, love and laughter this should be on your must read list. The copy I received had not finished final editing so I cannot comment on spelling, etc. Except to say what I came across was minor and in no way took from the reading experience .

I was given this as a Arc for a honest review, honestly this is the second story I read by this author the first one ever being the Lonely Wolf. This story is about a orphan named Lupo who is a werewolf that comes from a long line of Alphas. When he grows up he finally finds his father Quintilius and is starting to get to know him, he also has a fiancé and feels like everything in his world is going great till a car accident with him and his fiancé rips apart killing his fiancé in the process feeling it's his fault he doesn't fight it when he's sent to prison for a year.
Lupo finds himself being attacked by many in prison and has no friends till he meets a were puma who he opens up to and becomes very close friends. When Lupo is released he goes to work for his father as he does he comes to realize that the danger he was in while he was at prison he knew that someone wanted him beat up or dead now he knows that the orders came from the outside. so if you like story's with unconditional love, friendship, heartbreak, betrayal and are looking for a suspenseful paranormal story the immortals series is for you.

I am giving this review on behalf of Kats Book Promotions/ Katsindiebookblog. I’m getting at the point of not being able to write anymore reviews for Monica. Each and every time it gets harder and harder to come up with words to express my feelings towards her books. They get better each time with every story. The characters are just fantastic. The details are just amazing. They get more in depth with every one, and the best word I can seem to ever come up with is just… WOW…!
This story revolves around Lupo. Lupo was in jail for killing his true love. Not only that, he had a rough time growing up after the death of his mother. So saying he had an easy life would definitely be far from the truth. When he gets out of jail, he starts working with his father. It really is hard to tell you much more because there is too much to possibly give away in this story. The only thing I can say is you will never expect what is going to happen next. Keep writing Monica, your words are magic and we all love them!

Good book very easy to get absorbed in it as I read it in one seating, So many twist and turns that keep you engaged and wanting to find out what happens next. The author describes the scenes and emotions brilliantly that you can feel empathy with the characters.

Loved the book as it was about shifters living in the normal world and not the usual where they live in close proximity to a forest so that they can go running and another first for me reading a novel with angels in it.

I got this book as an ARC for an honest review.

Amazing

Lupos journey was filled with pain and heartache. He was imprisoned for the death is his soul mate only to learn once he's released that she is alive. He spent a year thinking the conversations with his beloved jasmine were a dream. He soon learns she is alive and well. He must go through trouble to be reunited with his one true love
