Logic was doing his best to stay focused on just living. After the death of his brother, he made the decision to leave the streets alone. He couldn’t imagine his mother have to bury another son or visit him in jail, but the idea of letting his brother's killer go free was really weighing heavily on him. Especially considering the fact that his brother’s killer was the one person he used to trust the most.
Joy had been watching Logic for months and knew that she had to have him. This man was everything. There was a certain mystery about him that really had her wanting more. She could tell that there was a reason why he walked around her local café like he owned the world, and thanks to her best friend Karma, Joy would soon find out.
Once Logic and Joy meet, things immediately take off and the two seem destined to be together. But, Logic’s past has resurfaced, causing him to make a decision that might force Joy to walk away. What’s more important, revenge or love? Maybe they can handle both, only time with tell.

Hmmmm I know that I like author K.C Mills, I have read a few of her books and really enjoyed them, I would go on to say that she is becoming one of my faves... However
For some reason, I am not clicking with these characters. I am not sure why but normally within the first 5 chapters I have connected and I am in there like swimwear... but not this time.
Logic, his character is cool, down to earth but for some reason he doesn't come off as a "Boss" to me, I am not sure why but he seems like a worker and not a boss and it could simple be because we were introduced when he was simply working at the bar. (well more than that but I am not a spoiler lol) so I guess in book 2 we will get to see more of who he is as Logic to the boss.
Joy.... she is cool I didn't dislike her but I didn't connect with her either.... maybe it will click book 2.
Sigh... I am seriously trying to decide if I should continue or throw in the towel.
Man!!!! I don't even know where to start. This book was good from page one. I loved Logic and Joy relationship. Joy mother was something else and I can see that she going to be a problem. That ending was something else. K.C. Mills defiantly have a way of making her character come to life.
Not a bad read, but Joy seemed a bit thirsty to me throughout the story. Logic was laid back but the situation with why he left the game made him look weak. Seemed like he needed Gotti and Lil Chris to hold his pants up for him to make a decision. For Donte to be so easily touched by his supposed team why/how could Logic trust any of them? For the most part they betrayed him first with staying with Donte after what happened with Nard. The next one should be interesting though, hopefully Joy will have to put on some big girl panties and deal with some drama.
Yass this is the type of book I love, when you can play out the book like a movie in your head!!! This is definitely a 5 star read. Very well developed and easy to follow. I recommend read this entire series!!!
I'm loving joy and logic as a couple. I also love karma crazy self. She really has her girl's back. I think logic was really trying to stay out of the streets but it just kept calling him. I glad donte and fez where handled, and Joy's mom know she was dirty for that. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Never read a ebook with so many errors.. wanted to be a reader not an editor. If a book is over 300 pages it should not have this many errors. I did enjoy the story but I don’t think I will read a more ebooks on KU by this author. Maybe just stick to audiobooks.
Poor Joy going over to Logics mother house for dinner has turned into a stand off, now Nova and Logic is both upset with her but for different reasons...
This was a pretty solid read for me. It was interesting enough to hold my attention and really well written. There was underlying conflict that built in such a subtle way, I was not bombarded with inauthentic or "over the top" drama. Everything was really believable and for me that's always a plus. The characters were so relatable that I became sucked in and just wanted to learn more about them. It really gets boring for someone who reads daily, to read about the same plots and subplots in this genre. K.C. Mills finds a way to reinvent the "typical" urban novel involving drugs, d-boys and sex in a way that's never boring. Over the past few months I have found myself reading more of this author's work and she has become one of my "go to authors". What does that mean? It simply means that I'm now on the look out for her new releases and I purchase or download them immediately without reading the synopsis or reading a sample(I no longer need to). I have yet to be disappointed, so not only would I recommend this novel, I'd recommend all of her others works as well.
It took me a minute to warm up to Logic and Joy's relationship. I'm not sure why because normally I fall completely in love with KC Mills characters. However once I jumped all the way in I was good. As always the writing was stellar and the fact that Logic genuinely tried to give up the street life to appease his family and friends was commendable. I see that we are in store for a juicy part 2. I love Karma as Joys best friend. Every girl needs a friend like this when you take life too seriously and become afraid to love like Joy. I can't wait to see what's next for this cast of characters. All I can say is Joys mama has an old fashioned butt whooping with her name on it and it will be well deserved. Kudos Ms. Mills please don't make us wait too long for part 2.
I was immediately drawn into the story. It had me from page one. Joy will be the character to annoy me. She's the type to over analyze and keep secrets. Karma seems like the fun one. I like Logic but he needs to clean out his closet before he starts a relationship with Joy. He's real though. I like how he handled her parents. I'm feeling the story and looks like it'll be a good one. I'm about to get into part 2 right now.
I mean K.C. never disappoints me! That Logic is Everything I hope he and Joy make it through the bs bc I know it's coming...Also how trifling can your mother be to sleep with you dude WOW!...I don't like Rah already and now he knows where Logic mother stays isn't good...I'm so ready for party 2
OMG! This was like whoa!!!! I knew all the dots would connect but KC Mills threw some surprising twists at us. So Logic is the man to see for real in part 2! Rah who? Cedric who? Myesha who? Keisha who? Yes, all those "whos" need to know that it's all about Logic and Joy
Things got really interesting at the end. The beginning and middle were ok. I liked Logic, Nova, Najah and Karma. Joy though. The whole cat got her tongue and she couldn't speak to him had me rolling my eyes. Stop acting like a darn mute and talk.
Any story that makes you want to deal with a thug is a good story. Lol. I pray he makes better decisions for him and Joy but this was very well written and the characters were strong. Can't wait for part 2.
I love me some LOGIC!!!! He is definitely bae! I love the relationship that Logic is building with Joy. When I read that Rah was his problem, I knew the storm was coming especially with Nova missing with him!!! Great Read!!! On to part 2!!!
I just love me some Logic. He and Joy have some powerful chemistry. Myesia is about to be problem. Especially since Donte is gone. Rah is about to a problem too. Joys mom is just plain NASTY!
I like the way this storyline coming along seems like more secrets will be revealed but the errors were messing my vibe up but I'm gonna continue the series
