"for me, it's always the people around me who give me the strength to go on."
𓄹⠀𓈒⠀rly loved the themes explored in this set of volumes. so so sad, but the exploration of self-hatred, depression, lonelines - and most importantly, courage in the face of it all - was beautiful to read about. it really did make me feel less alone in my struggles. one can learn so much from this series~ㅤׄ 𓄼

I'm all for faithful translations but I'm having a really hard time keeping all the honorifics straight, and all the characters have 4 different names, and god their are so many Sohmas.

Once again the humour and emotion in this series and in each volume so far do not fail to keep me intrigued.
Yuki seemed to have some subtle yet heavy emotional parts and I hope to see eventually what he keeps hidden about himself and his past that had affected him so deeply.
I liked new character Kisa. My heart went out to her for what she's been through. She's both adorable in the way she is fond of Tohru and her relationship with Hatsuharu. I also admire her strength and determination to overcome her fears.
I love Ayame and his highly flamboyant personality! xD I also hope that Yuki and him can develop the relationship that Ayame is trying to create with his brother again.
And my goodness. I did not expect the revelation of Kyo's true form or the intensity of that whole part; it was a deep look into his past and his feelings and it was so heartfelt and heartbreaking. I loved it and I'm so glad that
I immensely love how this series touches on topics in such heartfelt ways; such as friendship, loyalty, love, romantic relationships, what some people will do for those they love, the effect of kindness, etcetera. This series has woven a place very deep in my heart already.
And to conclude, considering how this volume ended with an intimate moment between Yuki and Tohru, I find myself once again conflicted on who I like her with more. Kyo or Yuki.. they're both so wonderful and special in their differing unique ways. All the members of this family and Tohru deserve happiness and I really hope by the end of this series that they all get that somehow. I'm both scared and excited to see what happens in the next volumes as there's still a long way to go and so much happens in just one volume! I love it :D

I did not expect this volume to hit me right in the feelings??? The depictions of depression here and finding the strength to move forward and believing in yourself were so!!!! I almost cried. I also very much enjoyed the continued development of all the characters and their relationships.

A MUCH better volume in my opinion!
Granted, I feel it didn't really pick up until that moment with Kyo later on, but I feel for the first time I saw the glimpse of the love for Fruits Basket. After reading that, I think that's when I realized that is what I have been expecting all along and felt I have not gotten in the first two volumes.
Usually I would not stick with a series for this long that I'm not super loving, but I am curious to see what will happen next! I can't say I'm on the "hype train," but I have really enjoyed the cast of characters. They are quite the lively bunch!
Also, I think my favoritism for Yuki is shifting over slightly to Kyo. *nervous laughter*
Overall, I felt a lot more happened in this volume, with my favorite being Kyo's Master! The mangaka mentions that things from here on out could get depressing, so I'm hesitantly optimistic that I could start to enjoy this series outside of the few moments I have so far.

we get a lot more of kyo's backstory in this book, which was super sad but also a good insight into why he's tries to be so aggressively distant from everyone.

Once again, this world enraptures me so much. I loved the fact that kyo’s background story, and just his character in general, is given more of a spotlight in this volume. It’s so amazing to be rereading this series and I highly recommend it to everyone!

I really wanted to rate this 5 starts because it was definitely better than the previous ones. It hit all the good emotional beats, the story flowed nicely, and the art looked cleaner. But there are still full pages where I'm only 45% sure I know who is speaking and other pages where I am just guessing who is speaking. I am a big fan of the animes, but I don't know how much more of this I can read before I chuck one of the books out of a window!

Review : This volume was good lots of stuff happened kyo , Yuki Ttohru , shaguri and Hatori go to this lake and Tohru was worried about Kyo and Yuki cause they were acting weird so she was worried she did something tohur ends up falling and Kyo and Yuki end up trying to catch her but they end up transforming . Haru comes to the soma house with a tiger which is a soma Kisa who is depressed and won't speak cause she was being bullied at school cause of her looks and Tohru ends up talking to Kisa and kisa ends up fallowing her around . Haru and Yuki tell kisa they love her and care for her she ends up talking again and goes back to school. The yuki fanclub are trying to get Tohru to stop talking to Yuki so they end up talking with Hana and we meet Hana's younger brother who could be her twin . They end up running out of her place and Hana admits she was Jealous of Yuki for spending all that time with Tohru.
Tohru ends up failing her assignment and has to take a re take and shes upset cause Yuki helped her study and she ends up getting a cold Kyo cooks for her and she takes her retest .
Kyo is in a bad mood cause it's raining and his Master who took Kyo in as a kid came for a visit he doesn't have the curse but he's still part of the soma family . He ends up taking off Kyo's bracelet and we see Kyo's true form Tohru ends up talking to him and tells him she wants him to come back home and it works he changes back to his regular form but he hugs Tohru which was sweet . Tohru notices that Yuki has been depressed and Haru noticed to so they end up talking and Haru goes to the soma's for dinner but Ayma ends up showing up and Yuki wants to visit his brothers shop he makes custom outfits and Ayama and Yuki end up having a talk which was good loved this volume onto the next one .

My. Heart.
I am not okay. I mean, I am, but holy shit does this series send my heart through the ringer. I laughed. I swooned. I cried. And cried and cried and cried--like UGLY cried.
I just love this series and these characters so much. This has everything I want in a shojo, and I honestly can't wait to continue with this story. I could go on and on about everything I love, but suffice it to say that I love how much heart this story has.
I especially loved meeting Kisa in this volume, and her interaction with Tohru & Yuki. I obviously sobbed over Kyo in this one, and I find it interesting how this reveal differs from the anime. It makes me so curious to see where the story goes. Plus, I still love the Yuki-Tohru-Kyo thing--although I will say that Kyo has my heart!

Nach ihrer Rückkehr lernt sie ein weiteres Mitglied der Zwölf kennen: Die kleine Kisa, die vom Geist des Tigers besessen ist...
Cover: Ich liebe das Cover so sehr genauso wie bei den anderen. Ich finde es so toll, dass die Charaktere dazu verwendet werden und es so schlicht ist.
Zeichenstil: Der Zeichenstil ist Top und ich fühle so mit den Charakteren. Ich finde es einfach so toll, dass es wie in Anime ist. Ich kriege die Emotionen mit von allen und es ist alles so gut getroffen. Ich hab alle ins Herz geschlossen und es ist einfach so gut.
Storyline: Es geht auch spannend weiter und ich liebe es einfach. Es nochmal zu erleben ist einfach, ach ich kann nicht genug davon bekommen. Es kommen krasse Dinge raus und nichts kommt zu kurz. Es ist wirklich amüsant aber auch emotional. Alles ist so gut getroffen und ich kann es gar nicht aus der Hand legen. Ich fühle mit jeden mit und es ist wirklich toll. Ich mag einfach die Welt so gerne. Man erfährt neue Dinge und lernt neue Charaktere kennen. Ich kann es nur empfehlen.
Meinung: Ein toller Band 3 und der Cliffhanger ist echt gut gemacht. Man will sofort weiterlesen. Ich kann euch den Manga nur empfehlen oder den Anime. Auf jeden Fall bin ich so gespannt was noch auf einen zukommt im nächsten Band.

Vol. 5 - Tohru and the Sohmas spend time at the Sohma vacation cottage and the atmosphere with some of them is very emotional. The next Sohma she meets is Kisa, the Tiger 🐅, who is a young runaway struggling with personal issues in school and home yet Tohru slowly has her come out of her shell. Back at school, the merciless junior student Motoko Minagawa sees her as an enemy to her obsessive attraction to Yuki. She and her accomplices try to get some knowledge on her by visiting her friend Hana-chan and we also meet her equally emotionless younger brother Megumi who claims he can put curses on others. Finally, the Sohma men take care of a sick Tohru.
Vol. 6 - During their rainy summer, the Sohma house gets a visit from Kazuma-Dono, a martial arts master who’s taught some of the Sohmas and is Kyo’s master. It all takes a shocking turn when Kyo’s other form, a grotesque creature with a rotten smell, is revealed and Tohru is the only one who can calm him and show that she cares about him. We also learn a lot about Kyo’s past with him living with an unstable mom and being seen as inferior for having the cat curse, as well as Kazuma being an amazing father figure to him. Finally, Yuki and Tohru visit his brother Ayame’s costume where she meets his assistant Mine, see the brothers in their average tussling and we even see her in a beautiful dress.

And the plot darkens...
I saw most of the original Fruits Basket anime almost twenty years ago and I'm enjoying the darker and more serious elements to the manga.
There are a lot of characters to keep track of, and thanks to what I assume is faithful translation from Japanese, each of them have up to four different names (more if shortened "nicknames" are considered) and this can make keeping track of everyone a little tricky. Fortunately I'm able to read them in fairly close succession to try to minimise this challenge.
I saw most of the original Fruits Basket anime almost twenty years ago and I'm enjoying the darker and more serious elements to the manga.
There are a lot of characters to keep track of, and thanks to what I assume is faithful translation from Japanese, each of them have up to four different names (more if shortened "nicknames" are considered) and this can make keeping track of everyone a little tricky. Fortunately I'm able to read them in fairly close succession to try to minimise this challenge.

Cada vez me gustan más los personajes, aunque tengo que reconocer que disfruto sobre todo las partes divertidas y libres de problemas, en las que todos son felices o se pelean. Siguen siendo mayoría, pero últimamente cada vez hay más momentos de drama, en los que conocemos más acerca del pasado de los protagonistas, y no voy a negar que también me hacen falta, pues de esa manera se comprende mucho mejor el comportamiento y la personalidad de cada uno.
¡Estoy enganchadísima, y no puedo esperar a comenzar el siguiente volumen!
