Hello, My Name Is Tiger is a cute, inspirational children's book that helps to show kids how to be social and that having friends is fun! The story is about a shy timid young boy named Toby who dressed up and pretends to be a cat so that he doesn't have to talk with people.
The book is filled with vibrant, colorful illustrations that will catch a child's attention and keep them interested in the story.
Toby is shy and scared at school until he meets another young boy who is just as shy and scared as he is. Together, Toby and his new friend Pete are able to overcome their fears and shyness to become instant friends.
I highly recommend this book to anyone with a young child who is shy or has difficulty making friend or just enjoys a cute inspirational story. I greatly enjoyed reading this adorable children's book and following Toby's story as he overcame his fears and became very happy with his new friends.

Young children who are very shy about trying new things and making new friends will certainly be able to relate to Toby. Toby spends most of his time pretending to be a cat. But when he starts school, he becomes a shy kitten. This would be a good book to share with young children at the beginning of the school year. As Toby changes the name on his name tag to Tiger and runs off to climb a tree when a little girl asks him if he wants to play, there could be good discussion about ways to make kids like Toby more comfortable at school.

Cute story with adorable illustrations. This book is perfect for the imaginative animal loving child. Adults will also laugh about the realities of living with a child that prefers to be an animal instead of a human. After reading this story, it is only appropriate to pretend to be animals for the rest of the day!

Themes: New experiences, comfort
My favorite thing about this book is that Tiger, Toby, never shies away from what he wants. He doesn't take off his tiger outfit just because the other students are not wearing the same thing. I would use this book to show students that there will always be someone they share an interest with. I would read this book and tell students that if they see someone by themself, to introduce themself and find something they both have in common.

Sweet book about being yourself and friendship. Would probably work better in a one-on-one or smaller group setting.

About a boy who likes to be a cat and his first day of school. How fellow students reached out to him (and it took multiple attempts) and how he learned to reach out to others.

Imagination abound! But being yourself is great, too.
