Who doesn't immediately think of Adam Sandler's "Lunch Lady Land?"

The kids just LOVE the humor and gross noises of Scott Nickel's books. This one has a good message at the end that reflects the current trend in school cafeterias. LOL

Attack of the Mutant Lunch Lady is a story about a school cafeteria where things like “mystery meat” and “deep fried green stuff” are daily choices. The woman who cooks and serves lunch is referred to as “lunch lady,” and she is not very kind or clean. One day as she is mixing up the day’s lunch she falls into the vat, and comes out as a giant monster who eats everything in the school. One of the boys saves the day when he throws apples into the monster’s mouth. The lunch lady turns back into a person, but she is magically changed and only serves healthy food. She is also clean and happy now. The kids, however, decide that they liked things better before--nothing is as bad as healthy food!
This book would be entertaining for kids, but I don’t think cafeteria workers would appreciate the stereotypes. I am not sure that kids really would prefer the food in the beginning of the story over healthy food either. In the end I think this book would be good for young reluctant readers who might think the story is funny.

Attack of the Mutant Lunch Lady
by Scott Nickel
I loved this book, because it is hilarious the main character is Buzz Beaker. He is a scientist that forgot his lunch one day and had to get school lunch. Let's just say it it was, well a special experience.the principle's hair is special when it comes to laughing, but I don't want to spoil it.The lunch lady has a, well lets just say that she has a vary big role as well. and you will easily want to read it 100,000,000 times as well.

very simplistic kids graphic novel, but includes discussion questions and writing topics...which I think is cool to do.
