Dear Cosmic Diary,
It's been a while.
I have no idea how or why but somehow I finished the workbook before the student book.
2 years ago I tried my hand at one of the creative writing exercises in this book, and when I showed what I wrote to a French friend and my sister who is better than me at French I couldn't express well, or I expressed more like English than French so my work received bad reviews, and so I never braved writing stuff again.
This year when I gave it another whirl, I kept to copying the possible answers to creative writing and dialogue questions, so that I could get a hang on the vocabulary and the structuring and sentence building, and by the end I just read them without copying them.
And so due to lack of written work and speaking work, I sadly can't give a review in French.
It would be cool but I am not there yet.
This workbook was good; it gave more vocabulary and helped further explain some topics in the student book.
The corrected answers I received with my book unfortunately seem to have belonged to a former edition, but it was not bad to read the extra answers to unknown questions.
It's not a big book, but somehow it took me a lot of hours to cover each unit, when most of what I did was copying and translating, not much brain was involved.
Regardless, I am a tad proud of myself for finally getting it out of the way.
Yet another example of "Just because it's short, does not mean it won't require decent work."
And it was the first book I finish as 23, so it feels like part of a phase in my life is finally over.
Of course, the student book is a bigger phase.
It's where you meet stuff.
