2.5 stars. I found myself struggling with the dialogue throughout the book. It feels choppy with stifled flow. Nick has a very dry personality. I didn't really like him until the end and even that was negligible. The plot did not hook me. Lizzie's reactions were probably what I had a hard time with the most. Before the mid point of the book she uses her safe word 3 times. 3. I don't know if that's a reflection on Nick, Lizzie, or what but reading it made me roll my eyes to settle on this expression -.- The sex scenes were decent but when you don't connect with the characters, it loses significant impact. The story has its moments. Safety: No OW/OM, No rape, abuse mentioned but not described, condoms until they decide otherwise, neither are virgins.

I liked it a little better than the first book. Nick was a BDSM master wanna-be and jerky alpha. I really disliked him until we find out want happened in his past, and then he was a little likeable. Lizzy was just as strong as her sister, but I really wish she hadn't made that phone call at the wedding. The two of them sure know how to make use a bed, a couch, a kitchen or an office...repeat. But how many times does the author need to say 'the rubber tugs for a moment and then he's inside.' (it was in the first book also)

I'm curious how his brother, Shepard, will be in the next book cause he was a jerk in this book. Jasmine, Nick's assistant, better not put up with any of it.

I really liked this story!

I met Lizzy in the previous book in the series, and I liked her immediately. Sassy, sarcastic, albeit damaged. I was SO happy to learn that she had her own story!

Her personality came through in this book as well, and I loved reading her "you don't scare me" attitude, especially when it came to Nick.

I really liked Nick too. He's one of those guys who doesn't let people in easily, but once he does, he gives all of himself. And he chose to let Lizzy in, and everything surrounding that leap of faith was very emotional.

Similar to the previous book, this couple leaned a titch towards the sadist side of BDSM, deriving pleasure from intense pain, and while that isn't really my cup of tea, I did enjoy reading the emotions that came through!

Lizzy is wanting to stay in New York with her sister but she needs to get a intern job too. She finds that she is brought back in contact with a one night stand that she never thought to see again. It turns out that he is Nick Marlowe and he is the CEO of the company she wants to intern for. At first Nick thinks she is there for other reason like spying on his company.. they have some things to get over before they can move on to a real relationship. This was a easy, Hot read that I enjoyed having the change to read.

Wow I loved this story where we're seeing & hearing Lizzie, Kat's younger Sister (from The Billionaire's Deal)
Whilst she's still in college in San Francisco she's out one night feeling alone & indecisive about what to do as she misses Kat so much, when she comes across Nick who also looks like he's got the weight of the world on his shoulders.
They start talking and he invited her for dinner but she doesn't want that she just wants a night of sex with a stranger she'll never see again. Though they seen tí be able to open up to each other telling each other their secrets and how they really feel as they'll never see each other again. Or well that's what they thought as she's decided to move to NY to be nearer to Kat and do an internship so she can learn more about AI and ODYSSEY is the best one to learn from. When she goes to the CEO who's standing there, no other than Nick who she had the one night stand months before hand and he thinks she's come into do some spying for Blake as he's offered to buy it out.
She convinces him that's not the case and add he loves her piece she wrote about he decides to give her the chance. Add the weeks go on the start becoming closer and he's starting to entrust her about things that he didn't speak about. Including how that ONE NIGHT which starts to change things.
So it's really lovely to see how their interaction with each other are making them stronger as they're there for each other without relishing. Including when Nick's ex-drunk of a brother & business partner Sheperd turns up wanting to sell and gives Lizzie an ultimatum stop seeing (bf/gf) Nick or he'll sell the company and she knows how much Nick loves his work and company, so see's no other choice but break up with him NO matter how much it kills her. She just puts all her emotion and concentration on finishing the organisation on Kat's and Blake's wedding. Whilst she gives her speech she admits to EVERYONE there that she also had fallen in love. Without realising that Nick was at the back and heard her words. Is this going to go right or wrong for her....as she's so desperate for Nick to be love with her..... I TOTALLY Recommend to read this as it's one amazing book as there's loads of emotion and how you're able to feel both of their hurt whilst growing up ........

Lizzy and Nick share a night of passion, sharing secrets and being completely honest with each other because they believe they will never see each other again. Months pass until they come face to face with each other again. So, what happens when your one night stand turns out to be your new boss and you can't get him out of your head? You try to ignore your feeling because your internship is more important, and you want to learn from the best but you can't fight attraction for too long. Nick and Lizzy begin a strictly sexual relationship that turns into something more but nothing is ever easy. Feeling develope, and people test their relationship. Everything is perfect until Shepard, Nick's brother, tries to sell the company Nick loves so much and gives Lizzy and ultimatum to save it. You don't realize you love someone until you are willing to sacrifice your happiness to see the man you love happy by saving his company and AI program, the only thing he loves in life or so you think....

Crystal does a really good job at sucking you in with her words, we see the development of the character and their willingness to put the others needs before their own. We get more of Blake and Kat for the first book in the series, we see their happily ever after. I loved Nick and Lizzy's story, I felt Lizzy pain, fear and struggle throughout the book. Nick is an alpha with a troubled past, you will love him, swoon at his naughtiness, and sometimes just want to hug him.

I received this ARC for an honest review.

Lizzy Wilder is a college student that wants an internship at this amazing company. This company is back in her hometown and she would be closer to her sister if she got it which is a big plus in her mind. Nick Marlowe is the CEO of the company Lizzy wants to do her internship at. What neither knows is that they have met a few months prior to the interview. They had a hot one night stand. The night they met the both divulged some things about their life that you wouldn't normally share which made their night more than either counted on. Upon seeing her Nick immediately recognizes her and doesn't want to hire her because of their history. Upset over the interview Lizzy goes out with a friend and that's when Nick tracks her down to give her the job with conditions. One of the conditions is that they forget their night together and remain professional towards each other. I loved this book I couldn't put it down once I started it. The story draws you in and you become involved with the characters and their struggles. Lizzy is a strong woman that has had to be strong because of circumstances in her life. Nick is a total alpha. He wants thing done his way and that's that. This story has it all amazing characters, well written storyline and hot sex. You couldn't ask for anything better. I would recommend this to any book lover. Another 5 star read for me.

I was provided with a complimentary ARC of this book by the author, through netgalley.com, in exchange for honest feedback.

A funny and entertaining story of Nich and Lizzy. This is the read every romance lover should put on their to-be read list.

Nick's lips curl into a smile. "Men will find you appealing, Lizzy. Boys will be scared."

What I liked the most in this book was Lizzy's bravery and the fact she was ready to risk everything to get Nick to admit his feelings. She got the opportunity of a lifetime with a great business firm, but she stayed focused on the one thing she really wanted- a man of her dreams. To us readers, it may seem foolish to risk a future over a love affair, but that's exactly where her bravery lies, she was ready to take a leap of faith and fight that man.

I enjoyed this novel so very much and I recommend it to all of you!

I was introduced to Lizzy in her sister Kat's story. In The Billionaire's Deal the writing didn't always flow very well but I liked the story enough to try out Lizzy's story. I'm very pleased to say the writing has improved significantly. There was much better flow and I was able to enjoy the story more. I really liked Nick's character, he was what I would a assume a rich techy man would be like. Lizzy, however, did come off a little desperate in the beginning but once they started their relationship, I did like how they interacted with each other. Overall, this was a good story and I would read more from Crystal Kaswell.

I enjoyed this book and finished this in one sitting! Nick is in control of Everything in his life and that includes women! Alpha male lol seriously what's not to love?? The scenes were really good. The story line was good. Good amount of angst! Good writing by the author she knows how to pull you along...keep you involved! I really would have liked some of his POV.

I couldn't figure out Nick at times, I loved when he was passionate, but he could be cold as well. It took awhile for me to like him, "you keep wearing the lingerie I bought you." His touch hardens. "Is this what you were hoping would happen?" He brings his lips to my neck." Overall I liked this book.

I was torn between giving this 3 or 4 stars, so maybe a 3.5 star rating? I enjoyed the storyline; however, I found Lizzy to be really annoying. She has one night with Nick and is completely infatuated with him. It came across as desperate to me. It was like her sole purpose in the life was to have sex with Nick ALL THE TIME. And if she said “h*ll yes” or “f*ck yes” one more time I was going to scream. I would have liked a deeper dive into the plot, for example more details about her accident, the outcome of Nick pressing charges against his stepdad, did his brother ever win Jasmine back, his brother’s reaction to Nick selling his portion of the company, and did they ever make up? And what was the point of bring his brother into the plot? I really didn’t understand that. Lastly, there were several typos in the book that I found distracting. I can get past one or two, but when there’s so many I start highlighting them, there’s a problem.

I wanted to like it more

I really enjoyed the characters in this book. I felt like they had depth and emotion that I could experience right along with them. Honestly I felt the storyline was secondary to the sex in this book. I'm all for the intimacy and physicality but found myself wanting to skim over sections just to get back to the story itself. There were also a decent amount of grammatical errors, me instead of my, bard instead of hard, things like that. I think with a good editing this could be a 5 star read

Nick and Lizzie

This is a new adult book that is a stand alone issue with little angst and ends with a HEA but it is also full of typos, lots of the same dom/sub sex scenes that resembles "Mr. Gray" and a story line that involves a far to pushy 19 year old and 27 year old billionaire, who owns his own company, this plot is just not believable IMO.
I found this book lacking and it just wasn't for me but it could have potential...

Title: The Billionaire's Control
Author: Crystal Kaswell
Publisher/Year: 3/28/16
Length: 214 pages
Series: The Billionaire's Control

Overview

She needs this job. He needs her tied to his bed and screaming his name.

Lizzy Wilder is desperate to stay in New York City with her sister Kat, the one person she trusts. Lizzy's only hope is a programming internship at hot tech startup Odyssey. But there's a problem: the company's CEO is enigmatic billionaire Nick Marlowe--the impossibly sexy one night stand she never expected to see again.

Nick stays in control of his life. He doesn't f*** interns. Period. If Lizzy wants to work at Odyssey, she needs to keep things platonic.

She tries. Hard. But the connection they shared, the way he captivated her-- there's no way her body or her heart will allow her to forget him. There's no way she can work under him without working underhim.

Can she risk the job she needs for the man she wants? And can she really handle being under his control if he wants her too?

My Thoughts

Thank you NetGalley for getting me a copy of this, and of course that also means thank you so that i got into the previous bit of this story with Kat and Blake. Provided for a great set up and lead in for this story!

So in this semi 2nd installment in the series, we get to see more into the life and mind of Lizzy - Kat's younger sister now that she's in college and trying to make her way in the world. We know that she chose to go to Stamford to study STEM and programming and where we are now is in the break between semesters where she's trying to get an internship to learn more about AI and to also find a way to fund her education.

The nice thing about this second story is that we learn that there's more to present day than we knew - as these two, Lizzy and Nick met previously and what they thought was a one night thing has brought up problems as their connection is amazing and they don't know what to do about it in this situation with professional and personal.

What we spend a lot of time thinking about in this story is how to get past what terrifies us, and understanding what it is that will make us happy and be best for everyone. With Lizzy, it's getting over a lot of the pain that she's had since the car accident that she was in that killed her parents and left her with a horrible injury. She's terrified of cars and that's something that continues to come up here.

then there's the fact that neither Lizzy nor Nick seem to be able to love, to be open to love and even have faith that it's something that they're worthy of, and i think that we clearly see this uphill battle and i can't wait to see how it plays out.

What's supposed to be a casual sexual relationship, or as casual as it can be when you have an alpha male who's a dominant and into control and BDSM, but casual is where they try to let this play out. Lizzy tries to improve upon her skills while also throwing caution to the wind in how she's trying to seduce him.

Our author does a great job of keeping the story moving - of giving us what we want in terms of anxiety and tension, and then delivering on the need for chemistry, heat and passion - and just dirty scening. That's something that Ms Kaswell has done very nicely.

We have to assume that something's going to happen between these two to cause of rift as it can never be smooth sailing all the time, and i think that it's interesting to see what comes between them. There are so many secrets being kept that it's no wonder that more have to come towards the end to get us to the finale. I feel like the characters that we begin to meet in the latter third of the story are going to be essential not just to the ending but to the next installment, and i can't wait to see how THAT plays out.

This was the first book by Crystal Kaswell that I've read and it did not disappoint! This book hooks you right from the beginning, even if you haven't read the precursor to it--The Billionaire's Deal. This is a stand alone book, but you can tell that some of the charters in this one are in the Billionaire's Deal.

This book is about Lizzy--spunky tech girl trying to get an internship in New York so she can stay close to her sister. As she sits in the office to do a programming test, she hears a voice that she hasn't hear in about four months, from a night she'll never forget. When she looks up and their eyes lock, Nick's reaction isn't what she was expecting. He's furious that she's there and he's not afraid to voice his opinion. Even though she is the ideal candidate for the internship since she's very adept with artificial intelligence, the fact that they shared a night together seems to mean nothing to him. Not seeing the same man she spent a passionate night with, she saves him the trouble of deciding her fate and leaves. If their banter back and forth doesn't reel you in, I don't know what will. From the second page I was hooked. Once you get their back story in the second chapter, you will for sure be hooked because you're going to want to see how this story plays out.

Even though Lizzy is young, she's had to live through a lot in a short amount of time, and that seems to have made her wise beyond her years. She's head strong, mouthy, and very smart. There are not many girls in her tech classes, but she's too determined to care what a bunch of guys think about her. Her determination to succeed is evident as the story progresses. The only thing that may hinder any sort of progress is Nick. She's not sure what to think of him seeing him in his element--he's not at all like the man she remembers, but that underlining attraction is right there at the surface. When it comes apparent that he wants more from her, he offers a strictly sexual relationship which she is all too happy to accept. We know why she doesn't do relationships, but you have to read on to find out why Nick doesn't either.

As the story progresses, not only is the sex between them hotter than hot, but the drama that unfolds will have you saying "I didn't see that one coming!" There is a lot going on in this story besides just steamy sex scenes. Nick and Lizzy have their own drama to work out, but then there is Lizzy and her sister, as well as Nick and his company. When push comes to shove, will either of them be able to admit what they truly want, or will they do what they think they should? Couldn't put the book down and I will definitely be going back to read Kat and Blake's story.

I am so happy this was not a cliffhanger/part of a series like Kat and Blake's story!!! The Billionaire's Intern is the full novel with a HEA.

This was a hot read. There is no slow work up here, it gets hot and heavy from page one and doesn’t let up until the end. When these two are in the same room its damn explosive. Although the H plays hard to get, it was fun seeing Lizzy pick and prod at him until he admitted that they both wanted each other. I loved that Lizzy embraced her need for Nick. From early on she was devoted to him and each time she gained more of his trust, you knew it wasn’t undeserved. She was a great h for Nick. Typically when reading I almost always like the H more the h and I'm way more forgiving when it comes to him. So it was a nice surprise to find myself liking the h in this one so much.

The story is told from Lizzy's point of view, so we get her thoughts, emotions, and reasons behind her actions (maybe that's why it took me a while to connect with the H?) At first Nick was described as controlling and hard to read. He was too emotionally detached and in the beginning it felt like Lizzy was maybe just assuming or imagining these brief glimpses of affection from him. When Lizzy compares him to a robot I found myself agreeing because he was so damn good at hiding behind this mask of indifference. It drove me crazy! I wanted to get inside his head and found out what was really going on with him.

That being said, I did eventually warm up to Nick. When the reasons behind his need for control are revealed, it helped explain why he was the way he was. I loved that even when he was pushing her away, he would give himself away with his actions. These two really brought out the best in each other. When he finally opens up to Lizzy about his past I loved that it wasn’t made into this huge barrier between them. Lizzy really steps up and I loved watching her get through to Nick. She was perfect for him. She showed him at every opportunity that she loved him, accepted him and that in the end all she wanted was to see him happy.

This is a D/s & BDSM themed erotica (), insta-love on the h's part and a tortured H (.) No OW/OM drama and no cheating.

oh, what did I think of this book?
well, I was interested enough to finish it ... sometimes (often), that interest was more "seriously? what is wrong with these characters?"
like, what kind of intern gets to work directly with the CEO?
how small is this company that's supposedly worth billions?
why did she keep repeating that it was an important opportunity that she couldn't throw away, yet all she did was jeopardize it? why was everyone so immature and clueless? (so insistent that he not patronize her, but she was often acting childish. then again, he often asked a lot of stupid questions that probably didn't help the childish behavior)
separately, where's the editor? there were enough errors throughout the book to be distracting
there is an over-the-top preoccupation with sex in this book, which was only a disappointing because it could've been more than that, but I guess some things are just as they seem
I didn't realize Kat and Blake had their own book because I was slightly confused at the familiarity without much background. kinda felt like I was missing out on an inside joke, turns out I was just missing out on the previous story! and, actually, I think that's fine, if I'd read K&B's story first, I wouldn't want everything rehashed in this.
I liked the funny banter and text messages

Fazit:
4 von 5 Sterne. Wer erotische Geschichte mag, ist hier richtig. Es lohnt sich!

The Billionaire's Control by Crystal Kaswell.
3 out of 5 stars.
Lizzie Wilder goes for an interview for an internship at Odyssey Industries, she needs it to be able to stay in a New York University rather than have to go back to Stanford. She gets a bit anxious when she's told that Phoenix Marlowe, the company CEO, and Billionaire Programming Genius is going to ask her a few questions after her programming test.
Lizzie gets on with the test, despite her mind still being preoccupied with a man she met in San Francisco on a one night stand. A man called Nick. So imagine her surprise when that same man walks into the room as her new potential boss? Phoenix Marlowe aka Nick to his friends!
Nick is shocked to find that the girl he had a one night stand with four months ago, a girl called Marie, is actually his new intern he's interviewing. He hasn't been able to get her out of his mind since that night. And now, now he's angry at having been lied to. Her name isn't Marie at all, it's Lizzie. And she isn't from San Francisco, she's from New York. Just like him.
So when the words "I'd like to hire you but... there are unresolved issues" come out of his mouth, Lizzie tells him that she'll spare him having to inform HR and just walks out before she bursts into tears.
That night she goes out to a club with her friends to find that Nick has come to find her there, he's phoned her three times without a reply and he wants to tell her that she's got the job. But he doesn't want anyone knowing about them and she's to keep it totally professional.
That would be easy if neither of them wanted each other as much as they do! So while Lizzie gets down to teasing him and trying to get Nick to take it further, he obstinately refuses every move she makes and tells her that nothing will happen unless he wants it to because he's in control!
But every man has his breaking point! And Nick breaks his in spectacular fashion. And then his brother returns and turns the world upside down for all of them....

This story is a about Kats sister Lizzy. She wants to stay in New York with her sister because she didn't really fit in at her school. Once a New Yorker always a New Yorker.

Nick is the hot CEO of the company she applies to intern to. Little does Nick and Lizzy know that when they meet it's a blast from the past of a one night stand. Can they work together and let the past lie or will they give into temptation again. Great start to the series.

Nick and Lizzy start secretly dating. Can they continue this or will them working together get in the way. Great continue of this series.

In this third installment you see how Nick and Lizzy take care of each other. When Lizzy has back trouble Nick is there and when Nick gets wrapped up in his work Lizzy is there to bring him back in tract. Love this series can't wait to read the last book in this series.

Elizabeth (Lizzy) Wilder desperately wants to stay in New York with her sister so it’s extremely important to get the internship she applied for. The problem is the incredibly sexy CEO of the company Phoenix (Nick) Marlowe is her one night stand she never thought she would see again. Will these two be able to work together or will he send her packing?

I was gifted this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Lizzy is a young woman who has an old soul. She’s not like most people her age as she’s super smart and wise beyond her years. Losing her parents at a young age forced her to grow up but her older sister sacrificed a lot to keep them together. Getting the internship with Nick would give her everything she needs to stay in New York but she can’t forget her night with him.

Nick Marlowe is a CEO who is trying to hold onto a company he is watching slip away thanks to his vengeful brother. His focus is on work. His night with Lizzy was supposed to be just that but she isn’t like most woman, she is everything he wants but he feels she is too young for him.

Crystal wrote two remarkable characters who are very relatable. Once you get to know Lizzy and Nick and how they work so well together as a team, can’t help but want them to take it one step further and become a couple. After Lizzy finally gets through to Nick, the attraction between them goes from simmering to outright explosive. Just when you think you know where Crystal is going to take this couple she throws a twist in the story leaving you questioning what you thought you knew.
This is the first book I’ve read that was written by Crystal and she did a marvelous job pulling in her readers and keeping the interested. This story pulls in characters from The Billionaire’s Deal which for me enhanced the story line. I would recommend this incredibly sexy love story to my fellow readers.

After reading THE BILLIONAIRE’S DEAL, I looked forward to the BILLIONAIRE’S CONTROL. I wasn’t disappointed. Lizzy was a little sarcastic and distrusting, but she had her reasons. It wasn’t a complete surprise, either, considering her earlier appearance in THE BILLIONAIRE’S DEAL. Nick was more of an enigma, which I both liked and made me curious. Having read Crystal Kaswell’s other books, I knew he’d have a good reason—and he did.

Nick and Lizzy were more than one-dimensional characters, which made them realistic for me. Her fear of cars and his efforts to help her through that were sweet. When they really needed the other, they were there for each other, and that's a hallmark of a good romance, IMO.

There was a lot of sex in this book, which I understood completely. Again, it was these characters’ way of dealing with emotion, especially where Nick was concerned. It was the ONE WAY he could have control. Lizzy understood that and never judged him for it, even when she didn’t know his secrets. I really liked that about her.

The book was well-written, and the sex was hot. The only disappointment I had was that we didn’t get to find out what happened with Shep and Jasmine. Not because I liked them (or him) so much—I didn’t—but it was a big plot point at the end. I would have liked knowing whether he won or lost—or maybe we were supposed to assume he lost because of things Jasmine had said earlier. It was just a little too open-ended for me.

Even with that hiccup, I felt like this book deserved a 5 for the writing and consistent characterization.

If you liked The Billionaire's Deal: The Complete Story: An Alpha Billionaire Romance, the first book in this series, then you’ll probably like this one. Very similar story line. Nick is a brilliant tech nerd billionaire who likes control in his relationships, just like Blake form the first book. Kat, from the first book, is delighted to have her sister Lizzy back home. Lizzy is more assertive than Kat was and knows what she wants. And that doesn’t include the full ride Stanford scholarship she earned, claiming that her classes are boring and she’s not learning anything. She finds an internship at Nick’s company and finagles her way into him personally training her.

From here, it’s a pretty routine BDSM-light story. Again, many parallels to Fifty Shades of Grey. Especially, when Lizzy breaks up with Nick because he won’t be open and truthful with her. A few twists and turns along the way. A wonderful end that includes Blake & Kat’s wedding.
As usual with Crystal Kaswell’s books, there are many typos. Not enough to take away from the story this time, but annoying.

This book is absolutely hot. Before I talk more about the book, I just wanted to add this is the first book from Crystal Kaswell I have read and it certainly won’t be the last.

The Billionaire’s Control is the second book in the Billionaire’s series featuring Lizzy Wilder and Nick Marlowe. I didn’t feel I missed out on anything from not reading the previous books, but I will say, I will be reading the previous books to get a better understanding of some of the characters.

Lizzy is a tech student who wants to stay in New York to be closer to her sister. To stay in New York, she has applied for an internship, as she is completing a pre-test, in walks the man she has never forgotten from several months ago (her first and only one night stand). Nick is the CEO of the company Lizzy has applied at and is angry with her deception. In spite of their simmering heat and past, he decides to hire her.

As the story progresses, so does the hotness between them and the drama you won’t see coming. I won’t give to much more detail, you will need to read it.

Crystal has done outstanding job and I for one am looking forward to reading more books by her.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley for review.
