Rate this book
Good will to all, and peace on Earth. Even to those trying to kill you. Adam Donahue lives in the perfect vacation place – Door County, Wisconsin. But his life isn't perfect. His wife was killed by a drunk driver three years ago, and his twelve-year-old daughter has type one diabetes. Now his daughter claims a mythical pooka, in the shape of a giant cat only she can see, is living in her bedroom. It scares him enough to do something he hates – ask for help from his late wife's best friend. Lauren Finney's insurance agent husband disappeared four and a half years ago. Good riddance. Her Irish wolfhound is better company than he ever was. And she misses her best friend more than the missing husband, though Adam – her best friend 's widower – makes her heart beat faster. Now it's time to initiate divorce proceedings against her husband, before the prenup restrictions expire and he comes back to claim half her considerable assets. As soon as she starts the proceedings, bad things happen. Very bad things. Then Adam asks her help with his daughter, and good things happen. Very good things. It might be their very best Christmas ... or it might be their very last.

Terrific..

I really like this book, especially the sayings from the pooka at the beginning of each chapter, chapter 19 was my favorite saying. I liked the “pooka” a lot, and I liked that once Tori told her father that there was a giant cat in her room that only she could see or speak with he didn’t go all crazy and start calling doctors, that he accepted it, or pretended to, and ask her to ask the pooka why she was there and what she wanted. And I liked it when he called Lauren, Tori’s godmother, over and she was just as accepting, especially when her dog, Falco, got scratched by the pooka and it bled. That was a little surprising, and it was just as surprising when the pooka scratched Adam’s hand, which bled then healed in seconds.

The sexual tension between Adam and Lauren was super, but also sad that she’d felt that way about Adam since she was 17 and she was in her mid-thirties now. That’s a long time to be crazy for someone. And their sex was fantastic, so don’t buy this book if sex offends you.

Then at around 70% it got real angsty on Adam’s part. First he wanted her in his life then he didn’t know what he wanted, again and again. It started getting real annoying. One minute he was happy that she was there then he’d do or say something really stupid that sent her running. They were both so afraid of getting hurt that it started affecting the entire story. I thought about skimming pages but I was afraid I’d miss something about who and why someone was trying to kill her.

And finally, the only thing I really, really, really hated about this book? The author used the words “penis and vagina,” and there’s nothing worse than those two words when it comes to sex in a romance novel.

And if swearing offends you the F-BOMB was used 5 times.

I am really enjoying this series by Edie Ramer, and A Love & Murder Christmas is no exception!

Well paced and very intriguing, Edie pulled me right into Lauren and Adam's lives. The Pooka that Adam's daughter sees is the catalyst to Lauren and Adam getting together, but it doesn't stop there! Lauren has always been attracted to Adam, but he was her best friend's husband. Little does she realize he's just as attracted to her, but guilt is a difficult thing to deal with. At this point in their lives, there just might be a chance for them. And they seem to just fit together. Yes, there is tension and inner conflict on both of their parts, but the road to happily ever after isn't always easy. As Lauren discovers when she starts divorce proceedings against her missing husband and suddenly someone seems out to get her...will she live to see a future with Adam? Will she find out what happened to her husband?

I loved the well blended mix of paranormal, romance, and suspense in A Love & Murder Christmas! I liked Adam and Lauren. Even with a mythological creature inhabiting Adam's daughter's room and someone out to get Lauren they felt like real people. Their struggles and feelings are believable.

The mystery in A Love & Murder Christmas was great and I couldn't wait to see where Edie took us on this part of the journey! I loved what she did, the twists, and the surprising outcome.

I felt entranced and hopeful as I read, and all the emotions Edie took me through left me very excited for her next book in this series. I would highly recommend A Love & Murder Christmas to any romance reader who likes a hint of paranormal and suspense.

A bit of romance, a bit of suspense, a bit of paranormal.

Adam is a widower with a tween daughter. He is not out there, he is not looking. But hey alone is not good either, and I liked him, and he so needed someone.

His daughter realises she wants that too, for him to find someone. But first there is the pooka in her room. What does a mythical beast want?

Then there is Lauren, Adan's wife's BFF. Duh, the love interest. That is obvious. She was perfect for him. But here the suspense comes in. Someone wants her dead. Why? And what is it about that missing husband of hers?

The pooka helps out. Lauren's dog helps out. Adam and her gets closer. The suspense builds ( I liked that part). I also liked how this guy was introduced, and I was all, I'd read about him, and tadaa, his book is up next.

Romance, paranormal and romance all in time for xmas

A Love & Murder Christmas by Edie Ramer
Love & Murder Series Book Three
Adam Donahue hasn't really been living since his wife died three years ago. He loves and worries over his diabetic daughter and he works. When Tori tells him she has a pooka in her room that only she sees and hears, he does something he hasn't done for three years. He calls his late wife's best friend for help.

Lauren Finney has learned in life that her dog Falco is the one steady thing in her life. She could trust him. People...not so much. When Adam calls for help after three years because her goddaughter needs help, she can't refuse.

I recommend reading the previous books in this series; Truth about Love and Murder and Rules of Love & Murder. The second book, Rules...has characters that are also in this book and a situation that you will understand better if you read that book first.

Great stories with suspense and romance. I loved the giant pooka in this story. For those old enough, Harvey the rabbit was a giant pooka in the movie “Harvey” starring James Stewart.

A Love & Murder Christmas
Love & Murder book 3
By: Author Edie Ramer

This book will hit you right in the feels!
Author Edie Ramer is amazing at writing stories that from the beginning have you feeling so many profound emotions that give us as a reader the feeling the we are riding on one heck of an epic emotional rollercoaster!
But no matter what at the end of the story you feel as if you had also been given a gift, something profoundly beautiful and genuine.
From Adam and Lauren to Tori, Pooka and Falco their story is about the past, present and the future. It's about healing, real life, dreams and wishes and with a Pooka in the mix there is bound to be a little bit of mischief, sprinkled with magic dipped in just the right amount of Christmas spirit!! And of course we can't forget about murder...... This book was a joy to read, I fully recommend this five star read!
18+up due to adult situations.
