I have mixed feelings about all of's books. They have lots of best practices baked in for writing Swift the "right" way but so often I feel like they move towards teaching things that no one will ever use.

Biggest criticism of this book in particular is that they have a finished app and simply walk you through different parts of it. The coverage is not extensive, mostly likely since the app's codebase is relatively large for a book, and it is not necessarily sequential. You will not be ab

This book provides a solid overview of the Core Data framework and is a must read. But I found some of the examples confusing, mainly the proposed Syncing Architecture, where (in my view) a three-module separation is overkill (considering the book's main purpose). I believe the book would benefit greatly (or it would make the book more "approchable") from using a more common scenario, e.g.: an app that retrieves data from a server as JSON, parses given response into models, persist it. The book is a little advanced for the beginner, albeit author present us with many good practices. The code is definitely worth reading, the reading experience sometimes feels like out of context.
