"A gripping tale of pirate adventure off the coast of 19th Century Florida!"
From Bestselling author Steven Becker comes a great new series
A fortune in gold and the future of a nation are at stake. King Henri is dead leaving Haiti in disorder and his treasury empty.
A mysterious crewman is able to interpret a series of cryptic clues leading the crew on a chase through the mountains and fortresses of Haiti. With his own goal of taking over the nation, the political intrigue builds, but nothing is as easy as it seems.
Follow Nick and the crew of the Panther in this stand-alone installment of the best-selling Tides of Fortune series.
Captain Nick is trying to go legal as a treasure hunter and runs into all kinds of corruption in the government of Haiti while looking for a pile of gold. Hang on for another swashbuckling adventure!
If you are looking for thoughtful theology or grass-roots geology then move on. But for some light entertainment this is for you. There is some technical jargon that will appeal to sailing enthusiasts and he seems to know what he is talking about. Other than that is a high-adventure "paperback novel" that you can just sit back and enjoy in an hour.
I enjoyed the book, a bit swift pacing and elements of the story seem rushed and not fully fleshed out, such as crew diplomacy and cave drama. Every time there is conflict it is a near immediate resolution which kills the suspense. I also wish there was more detail in fight scenes. Overall a good book, a fun adventure but it could have been even better.
Really enjoy going in sequence with these books. Great Marine story with a slight touch of Pirate. Thinking back though only three books there has been a lot of well written adventure. These boys get in it bad but they ate slippery. Liking the author more each character I discover.
This series of books was very well written and was a very fast read. I have enjoyed every book that I have read that was written by Mr. Becker, his books move at a fast pace and he keeps you guessing.
I am thoroughly enjoying this series. I love the conflict of trying to overcome the pirate label while constantly being screwed over by corrupt politicians
