The first person was confusing for my five year old.

It was too short.

One of the pictures was a close up of a sewing machine.

Nice beginning biography for younger children (around 1st grade level) on Rosa Parks. Although the cartoon depiction of Ms. Parks is on the cover, the book contains actual pictures (which I always prefer for non-fiction), simple questions to get children to think more deeply about Ms. Parks and her life, a timeline, glossary, and index.

I liked this book as an option for students who are struggling but don't want to read "Hop on Pop". I give this book 4 stars.

Grade Equivalent: K
Lexile: BR-70
This book is a very low level but is talking about the topic of racism and segregation so it may be geared toward an older audience.
