Still as brutally honest today as when I first read it 35 years ago.

Statements like "The only kind of football I'm interested in is the kind that brings me financial reward. I wouldn't walk to the bottom of the garden to play for nothing" left a 12 year old feeling extremely disillusioned with his hero's views at the time.
