Munitz traces the history of this school of thought from Charles S Pierce, to Frege and Russell, a large section on Wittgenstein, and a conclusion with Quine and Kripke. His explications are typically quite clear and easily readable (although I think that he failed properly explicate the Tractatus, and would have personally liked to have seen more time on Carnap, particularly the Aufbau), making this one of the best introductions to the subject.
