Horrible Histories Novelty

The Massive Millennium Quiz Book: 1000 Questions for 1000 Years

Rate this book
Terry Deary and Martin Brown have had enormous success with the Horrible Histories series, bringing their own particular brand of irreverence to the telling of historical facts and inviting their readers to delve into the deepest darkest recesses of history to discover the gory details behind the sanitised versions of events that they are perhaps more used to.

Here, in The Massive Millennium Quiz Book the pair take the plunge and raid 10 savage centuries for questions that will fascinate friends and puzzle parents for the next 1000 years.

If you want to know which medieval king married a man, how Queen Victoria created a scandal in her coffin, which disease was supposed to be cured by drinking cat's blood or whether Viking Chief Thorkell was tall, thin or thick as two short planks, then this is the ideal book.

Horrible Histories has a knack of making it all seem a bit more interesting, and this cracking book, designed to get tickle the braincells as well as the funny bone, is a welcome and timely edition to the set. (Age 8 and over) --Susan Harrison

Having stumbled on the series of humerous history books I decided to try one. I choose the Massive Millennium Quiz Book as a source of questions for a bi-monthly series of quizzes but when I received it I read it from start to finish and found it both informative and entertaining.
