I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW AND THIS IS MY HONEST OPINION .... OVER 18
A GREAT FAST ACTING STORY
Jill Bowden a marathon runner on vacation going home, as she arrives at the airport she notices that each of the gates she came to said Delayed or Canceled but when she gets to her gate Sydney to London via Dubai - Delayed 10 minutes. So she sits down to wait and starts making up stories (in her head) about the people (strangers to her) she sees, who they could be...where they are going or coming from...ect. Then she sees a guy-A PERFECT GUY- and her story was a perfect wife..what he could be saying in a text. Then the plane loaded , she had the middle seat next to Erik, but while she kept to herself it seems that he was guessing about her and a few hours later her about his perfect life, and they hadn't even spoken. She hear 3 big men getting loud and ,angry since one was messing up the Russian language, so Jill offers to translate till she see gun and handcuffs and he tried to tell her something the ones with guns could not understand, she told them she couldn't get it and couldn't help. back in her seat she wonders why she had to talk to them. Then when time to leave after layover in Dubai flight canceled, it was on every flight out of there, something about a volcano in Iceland. What would that have to do with anything? Little by little she pieced it together.Jill and Erik got vouchers for a room (small, twin bed)and food,next to Erik has they both started to go into there room he turned and smiled so she smiled back. Not everyone got vouchers, a lot got a list of where they might find a room, abandoned on their own in Dubai. Like Jill and Erik many also had lost luggage. Jill spend the night having fantasies about Mr. Gorgeous next door,in the morning she was going to check at the airport for Clothes, flights, and if they are going to fly today-but knocked on Erik's to see if he wanted her to check his too canceled flights, found luggage, new flight out, he excepted letting her do it for him. At the airport she finds the mother sleeping on the floor with three kids, Jill tried to help get her vouchers but couldn't so she took them back with her and gave her her small room. Jill plan to go back to airport or look for something on her own. Now she surprises Erik with what she does-twice so he offered her the other bed in his suite, she ended up excepting. Now he thought she would be a bother but was surprised when she left each day doing different thing and reading when she gets back. so on the second day he ask her what she had done, she read the different coupons she had. One was a boat trip that night and he told her they could make the next one and grab something to eat, she excepted. over the week there attraction grew with lots of twist and turns to keep it exciting. Jill continued to help the young mother and kids, site seeing daily , checking the airport daily and telling Erik when he ask - as day by day the flights were canceled. As they started to learn more about each other, the attraction they had felt from the beginning,grew more intimate. Then she is kidnapped! Erik knows he must find her, the arms dealer from the plan that she had talk to had escaped from custody. Can he find her? Will she be safe? He knows he needs her. The police are coming after the dealer. will they get there in time? If everything works out and she safe, what happens to them? Does she want more then what they had, a week in a strange place?This has been a wonderful story, with so many changes but showing a person who wants to help others if she can. Will there be a HEA?

Erik and Jill are two lonely people that aren't living, they're just going through life. For Erik, his focus is on work, work, work, oh and did I mention work? Erik is alone by choice ever since the death of his brother years earlier. He's scared to let himself love anyone else on the off chance that he may lose them too. Due to that he's basically shut himself off to everything that isn't business related. He also has a skewed opinion of women. He assumes all women will react a certain way when confronted with his obsession, err dedication, to his job. But he's never met anyone like Jill before.
Jill is alone due to circumstances beyond her control. She moved to London to be with her boyfriend a year ago and quickly realized she came in second place to his work. She vowed to never let herself be put in that position again. Unfortunately, she hasn't found that one person yet that will love her as she yearns to be loved.
It seems fate has different plans for Erik and Jill though. Jill instantly noticed Erik, aka Mr. Perfect as she mentally refers to him, in the airport while waiting for her flight. While they're sitting next to each other on the flight, Jill is very aware of him and equally as unaware that Erik has been noticing her. *eye waggle*
When their next flight is cancelled, they end up needing to stay in Dubai for a little while. The next day, once they've established an acquaintance of sorts, Jill carries on with her mission to the airport regarding their flights being rescheduled. However, the news is not good...flights are still on hold for an undetermined amount of time. While there, being the sweetheart that she is, she spots the woman with three kids from her flight and gives her room to them. (Totally an aww moment.) Of course, now Jill needs a place to stay and Erik offers up the extra bed in his suite. Ooh, things are looking up for Jill all of a sudden.
As Erik and Jill develop an easy friendship, feelings start to change and their attraction to each other is too hot to be denied. But this is just a casual fling while they're stuck in Dubai, right? Or could this be the start of something beautiful, something they both yearn to have, yet never believed they'd find? What about Erik's obsession to working? Can he pry himself away from it long enough to see what he's missing out on? Read the story and find out. I'm not going to tell. :-p

Erik and Jill are both stranded in Dubai when all flights are cancelled due to a volcano erupting. They had sat next to each other during the flight. But neither talked to the other. Jill gets a voucher for a hotel room and heads to spend her time there until she can leave. Eric a workaholic has the room next to her. When Jill finds out a mother and her three children are left without a place to stay she offers them her room. Then Eric gives up his to the mother and takes a suite through he company and invited Jill to stay with him. Things star to change between them and then Jill is in trouble and Eric realizes he needs her.
You have to love Jill and the stories she makes up in her head about people she sees. She seems so fearless as she takes a bad situation and makes it an adventure. Eric just works. He doesn't live at her. After a tragedy in his life he closed himself off. As he watches Jill head out each day on her adventures in discovering Dubai he waits for her to return and start talking his ear off. Asking questions, demanding answers. When she does nothing that he expects her to do, he starts to get curious about her. He wants to enjoy life the way she does. Wonderful story. I have to say at the beginning it seemed like I was reading forever before anything even happens between Eric and Jill. But it all falls in together as you read on. I continue to eat up Ms. Lowe's books!! I especially love her Serendipity Adventure Romance series, and in some way this book could be compared to that. In Veiled Fantasies we meet Jill who has been given the short stick in luck with men. On her way home from a less than stellar vacation she eyes 'Mr. Perfect'. Fate may be in the works here when she is seated right next to him on the plane.... But, bad luck kicks in again with being stuck in Dubai for who knows how long! Erik (AKA Mr. Perfect) is kind of a workaholic who definitely does not have time for distractions. When he sees Jill his interest is piqued because it turns out she's not your typical girl, there's more to her under the surface. As fate pushes this unlikely pair together in unexpected ways the desert heats up. I instantly fell in love with these characters and couldn't put it down once I suck my proverbial teeth into it! I loved being in Jill's mind especially! She made the best of bad scenarios and kept looking up! I just loved the visual of Erik, once again Ms. Lowe writes male characters to be everything you could wish for! A great read, as expected, with lots of romance and just a dash of suspenseful danger.

A cute love story where Erik and Jill were on the same flight that was stranded in Dubai until the volcanic ash allowed flights out they happen to get vouchers to a hotel and food she is really into Erik who happens to a businessman and her was all business they happen to be in rooms next to each other still they have not met yet even though they sat by each other on the flight to Dubai she offers the next day to check the ticket counter for him at the airport he agrees she finds that a mother and her three children were stuck at the airport and they didn't have any more vouchers so Jill gave her room to Louise and the children now she was out in the street except while she was gone Erik's office found him a room at a better hotel and since he was leaving she could give the connecting room to the mother and her children he agreed and offered her a room in his hotel she didn't want to agree but she did and she had her own bed and he had his she and Erik seem to it hit off and things start to happen so good some really bad . This is a cute little page turner. Adult. I received a copy for an honest review.

Erik and Jill are two passengers sitting next to each other on a plane returning to their respective home countries. Neither speaking with the other. A volcano is erupting which has cancelled all flights around the world and their plane gets stranded in Dubai. Luckily they end up getting rooms in a hotel next door to each other. Erik is an incredibly hot workaholic with a painful past and Jill is a sweet woman overcoming a failed romance. She's so caring she ends up giving up her room to a woman with three kids who's been stranded in the airport. Erik gives up his room as well as he's been booked into a nicer hotel and offers to share his suite with her. Now that they're rooming together can they start talking and over come their pasts?
Jill loves to go out on daily adventures but one day gets kidnapped? Will Erik realize she's missing? Will he be able to get to her in time? Will they be able to get their happily ever after? Read this to find out! A truly enjoyable book! Another great read from one of my favorite authors!

Jill Bowen is returning from a horrible vacation in Australia. Erik Bergstrom is returning from a work trip from Australia. Both are stranded in Dubai for a week due to a volcanic eruption. From the start, Jill thinks of Erik as “MR. PERFECT”. He is handsome, polite…although somewhat uptight…but she can overlook that. When they decide to share a hotel room for the week, everything changes. Erik comes to realize that Jill is an independent, kind woman, who seems to want to help everyone. Not the usual kind of person he is used to. Both these people are damaged and really cannot the real person they are…or rather who they can be, if they just listen to their hearts. When they do just that, magic starts to happen for them. But just when it seems fate has stepped in and given them their fondest dream, Erik makes a huge misstep, which causes Jill to run…right into the arms of danger. Will Erik find her before it is too late? And if he does, will she ever be able to forgive him ?

This one put my emotions through the ringer. Jill and Erik are seat mates on a flight that gets grounded due to a natural disaster. Jill decides to make the most of this time by exploring, while Erik is almost all business with conference calls and meetings. He can't quite get Jill of of his mind though, and through a series of well-intentioned decisions they end up in close quarters at the hotel.
As idyllic as this stranded situation can be, reality intrudes when Jill is endangered because of an earlier encounter with another passenger.
Like I said, my emotions got a workout with this read. Desire, suspense, tension, betrayal, compassion, action... you name it and this story likely has it. It made me both want to never get on a plane and want to go adventuring immediately, especially if I could have a seat mate like Erik by my side. It was great to be able to really feel for the characters as they go through this unbelievable but totally plausible situation. Stranger things have happened.

When Jill Bowen gets stranded in Dubai all she wants to do is get home. Flight delays leaves her and the other passengers stranded in a foreign country. As there aren't enough hotels to accommodate all the travelers stranded, she ends up having to share a hotel with a handsome stranger, Erik Bergstrom. As they get to know each other, they begin to fall for each other. What starts off as a simple fling turns out too be much more complicated. Can two damaged souls dare to wish for more.
Loved this book. This was an amazing story and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the storyline, it was captivating and charming. The characters, Jill is a kind, daring and accepting woman, and Erik is a handsome, workaholic and troubled man. They make the sweetest couple, very affectionate and loving towards each other. My only little niggle is I would have liked an epilogue. But overall, I loved it!

Loved this book. This was an amazing story and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the storyline, it was captivating and charming. The characters, Jill is a kind, daring and accepting woman, and Erik is a handsome, workaholic and troubled man. They make the sweetest couple, very affectionate and loving towards each other. My only little niggle is I would have liked an epilogue. But overall, I loved it!

I've read other books by Anna Lowe before, so I couldn't wait to jump right in. I started & within the first chapter I was intrigued, then a few more chapters in... I was HOOKED. 'Veiled Fantasies' is different from Anna's other series "Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch" & "Serendipity Adventure Romance", but again I loved the journey your dragged along when reading this book. Being told the story through both Jill & Erik's POV's, getting to know how well they suit one-another from the start & then reading how they progress in their relationship. Jill's making up stories about other passengers, Erik's constant need to work & be numb, a prisoner being extradited, a Volcanic eruption stopping all plane travel in the Northern Hemisphere... So much happening whilst stuck in Dubai. Such a fantastic read, has me wishing it was longer, even if the story was fairly long.

A great story which is what you come to expect from this author. Jill and Erik are stuck in Dubai on their way to their destinations from Australia. They're 2 different types of people who are attracted to each other and because of circumstances beyond their control are stuck until flights can start again. When Jill gives up her room knowing no others are available to a stranded mother alone with her young children Erik invites her to share his room with him, no strings. What starts as him wanting to keep her at arms length because of his past and her not wanting to act be to forward changes and as they get to know each other feelings bloom. In addition to being a love story there's some danger when she goes missing. When Erik finds out he goes in search of her.
The author brings her readers with her characters to Dubai. She makes you feel like you're there with Jill and Erik. A great love story that is for everyone. I received this in exchange for a honest review

Anne Lowe writes both contemporary romance and paranormal romance stories. If you want a light-hearted contemporary romance, this is a great choice. You see someone and dream of what might be but it rarely happens. In this case, fantasy becomes reality.
It is a story of how one small thing can change your life. They accidentally meet and develop strong feelings for each other as those interactions continue. It is not what either expected but before long it is what they want more than anything.
The story moves at a steady pace and you get involved as you hear both of their thoughts about the situation. I prefer stories where do get alternate points of view. It makes me feel closer to the characters.

This is an awesome contemporary love story. Fate or chance throwing two people together and with it will come a love that will last a lifetime. The most unlikely pair and yet just right for each other. While stuck in Dubai due to a volcano eruption and ash in the skies all flights get grounded. Few rooms available and a warm hearted woman giving up her room to a mother and her kids is rewarded the kindness of another. Only the kindness comes in a very hot package, one she can only fantasies about or so she thinks. I could not but this book down once I started to read with some twists and turns that you don’t see coming. Well written and very entertaining to read.

I normally just read paranormal romance but I have read this author before and just had to see how this one was and I an so happy I did.
Stranded anywhere isn't fun but that's what happened in Dubai of all places when a volcano erupted. I should amend that it's not fun unless your Jill Bowen and you turn it into an adventure, it also helps if your neighbor in you seat also ends up your neighbor in your hotel rooms and he us a hunk of a man named Erik!
Jill and Erik are getting along so well until a slip of the tounge and Jill runs hurt right into danger,
Yea you got to read this one it's exciting and touching all at the same time. Romance with adventure and danger that's still ends up heart warming. It's a winner

TRULY ENJOYABLE READ

Jill gives up her hotel room to a mother and her children, and Erik offers her the extra bed in his suite. As Jill and Erik get to know each other, they develop an attraction for each other. This is a great story with great characters. I truly enjoyed it, and highly recommend it. I loved the dual points of view. It add so much to the story to know what each character is thinking. Jill Bowden is on her way home but when a volcano erupts her airplane must stay in Dubai. Well it wasn't so bad since the hot hunky seat mate was in the next room. When things change she ends up sharing his room and his bed but when he calls out his ex's name she flees the room and gets into trouble. Now Erik Bergstrom goes out to find Jill and ends up loosing his heart.
This is very well written contemporary romance story. Smooth flowing story line and awesome characters.

Anna Lowe has done it again. This book just like all of her others is great. It's well written, and suck she right in. I couldn't put the book down and I really did love reading about these two characters, Erik and Jill. We could only be so lucky to have some the spectacular happened to us if stranded in a foreign country. Anna makes me want to take a flight and hope I get stuck somewhere. I can't wait to read more stories from her travel romances.

Another good story from Ms. Lowe. I loved the characters. The plot was well written and full of mystery, surprises, desire, great chemistry, romance, betrayal, and action. I look forward to see what comes next in this series. I highly recommend all of Ms. Lowes books for reading.

Received the book for an honest review. Anna Lowe weaves a story of two lonely souls who find love, hope and romance when stranded in a foreign country for a short period of time. I really enjoyed reading Jill and Erik's story. There is adventure, passion and a happy ending. Great book to satisfy the romantic in all of us.

This is a great story with suspense intrigue, delays, sacrifice and romance. While returning home they are stuck in Dubai, because of a volcano. What the heck do you do there? Anna Lowe has created a great story about the horrors of traveling. I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a good book, but I dont think it was a good as the other books that I have read by this author. It has an interesting perspective with the canceled flight. I think it moved a little slow sometimes, but it was still enjoyable.

I am never surprised by how intense Anna Lowe's books are or how amazingly deep the characters are. This book is incredible!
