The author has taken a novel approach to learn the alphabet. Bacotti proceeds through the alphabet using a term from microbiology for each letter of the alphabet. The illustrations are attractive, and the text is large and easy to read.

Not many preschoolers and kindergarten children will be familiar with the microbiological terms. I dare say most adults will be unfamiliar with some of them. While children won’t understand the scientific terms, this book exposes them to science at an early age and can become a scaffold to future learning.
Highly recommended to parents and teachers as a read-aloud book or bedtime story.
