First off let me say that all “Chicken Soup for the Soul” books are awesome ! Reading these books are a great way to lift your spirits and remind you that life isn’t so hard .

For this book, EVERYONE needs to read it . Especially with all the racial wars we have been having lately . It’s a great reminder of what it really means to be an American and to have American spirit . From something simple such as appreciating the rights and freedoms we have here in America versus other countries ... especially third world countries to something more complex such as what brings us together ( 9/11, baseball etc) where we don’t care about race, religion , class etc .

Everyone needs to read this book and get a good reminder of what it means to be American .

Andother Chicken Soup book. I love the stories -- have to wonder if they are all authentic and if anyone actually verifies them. Great morale boosters!

First Person glimpses that Capture the Heart of America

This charming addition to the CSFTS family does not disappoint, as many people share their memories or observations of what it means to be an American—born here, naturalized or the country as viewed abroad. Grouped in nine sections the topics cover everything familiar--all aspects of Americana: baseball, hot dogs, 9/11, group humanitarianism, wounded warriors, Service families, July 4th and much more. There is much in these pages which will touch the heart and stimulate the mind of thoughtful readers. Just what is it about our country and our diverse citizens that people from all around the globe are willing to give up all they knew to become an American? Despite our serious and obvious problems, freely broadcast to all the world, we be doing something right. These pages give hints of what that is—of which we can be truly proud!

These positive, heart-touching stories cover a plethora of topics, from everyday American life to wounded warriors, 9/11, and much more.
As the 2016 election draws near, these stories remind us of the great things about our nation, and give us hope.
As usual, I enjoyed reading the other contributors stories more than my own.
