Wynter Greene, newly minted Muse at the Mt. Olympus Employment Agency, is on loan for six weeks to Hades, CEO of Underworld, LLC. Not a bad gig, if she doesn’t mind running errands across the River Styx. She hardly ever has to clean up after the three-headed dogs that guard the front gates. But she could do without so many people eager to fix her up on what literally amoun ...more

Ce n’est pas sans défaut, il y a des baisses de régimes mais tous les matins j’avais envie de reprendre mes deux chapitres ! J’avais oublié à quel point j’aimais l’écriture de l’auteur et son côté farfelu !!

I've been eagerly awaiting book two in the Mt. Olympus Employment Agency series by R. L. Naquin. I was so happy to see it released, and started reading it immediately. The series is about a girl named Wynter Greene who hits bottom and then winds up working at Mt. Olympus Employment Agency as a Muse. At the end of book one, Wynter Greene is sent to Hades for six weeks and I knew there would be shenanigans there.

Wynter is filling in for a gal on maternity leave and is basically a personal assistan

Holy Smokes! I meant to just start this book. You know, read a couple chapters and then head to bed. So, that didn't totally didn't happen. I stayed up entirely too late finishing this book because AWESOMENESS!!! I couldn't put it down, it was like a magic portal that just sucked me in and made me forget the time. I totally consumed this in one reading! And the twisty, turny, totally unexpected plot bombs? I never saw them coming. Of course, now I'm like, damn, I want more. No, correct that, I n ...more

Loved it!

I liked it just as much as the first one. The only disappointment is that the third book isn't out yet and it's not available to pre-order!

The thing I have noticed about this series is that there seems to be a lack of direction or any sort of overarching plot. The MC simply bumbles around trying to make her way in the world while dealing with some very odd circumstances. In a way I find this writing style to be refreshing. It's almost just like reading about what someone is going through in their daily life as opposed to nothing but non stop action/adventure scenes. It's quite nice!

At the same time it can feel a little boring, but

Due to circumstances beyond her control,Wynter has been transferred to the Underworld. If she can make it through 6 weeks there, she'll be able to go back to Mt. Olympus and continue on Asa muse... but there is more going on than meets the eye and Wynter may learn more about herself than she ever could have imagined

It was cute. I am more a 3.5 rating, but 3 is too low. I still like the main character, and it was nice to see her explore the family relationships. This book focused much less on the 'job' aspect, so I look forward to future books having her bumble along.

I'm predicting my future will be highlighted by a plot twist in the next book... ;)

Really good

This continuation was enjoyable. We finally get some answers about Wynter's heritage. And is that a cool name or what? And the tale leaves room for potential romance.

R.L. Naquin ups the ante with Unamused Muse. Wynter is in the Underworld for six weeks acting as a fill-in personal assistant. One of my favorite things about Naquin's story-telling is how true-to-life her stories are. A personal assistant in the Underworld has the same types of responsibilities you would see anywhere else, just more fantastical. More importantly we finally get the answers we've been waiting for. And thought I thought I had it all figured out by the time of the big reveal... I w ...more

Quite an amusing and interesting book

I chose this book because it looked interesting and was available in the Kindle Unlimited list of books. I'm really glad to that I did. I did have to buy the first of the series and read it first, but each book does stand alone.

The best part of this story was the main character, Wynter's growth and how funny and clueless she is about, well, everything! I really enjoyed watching her make her way thru the Underworld and getting lost on the way at first. I also

"Unamused Muse" is the second novel in the Mt Olympus Employment Agency Series by R.L. Naquin. Wynter just started her new job in the Underworld and she's already off to a rough start. Between being given bad directions, a golf cart that needs to be charged all of the time, and a number of other slightly alarming events on her first day, she wonders if she'll survive the six weeks or die trying. Overall, this was a fun read. I really enjoyed this novel and can't wait to find out what's next for ...more

Light and frothy fantasy, a quick read. Muse Wynter Greene is temping in the Underworld for six weeks. Lots of amusing characters and, of course, Wynter gets herself into several scrapes. I enjoyed the author's reimagining of Hades and am looking forward to further books.
