The basic story is the same as that of all Chinese martial cultivation novels. A person starts off weak and increases his strength until he stands at the peak of the world. This particular novel is notable for using the same basic story again and again. Basically, the core character keeps going to higher levelled worlds, starts off weak and while weak gets powerful enemies who try to kill him. He finds a backer who sees his potential and tides over untill he becomes strong enough to exterminate his enemies. Rinse, change names and worlds and repeat. Starts off sexist initially, then thankfully grows up. Overall, a good way to spend time if you like the genre. Just dont expect anything extraordinary.

The author has no moral compass, no ethical values, and suffers from deep psychopathic tendencies. I do not understand how competitive progression-series-like-this-one becomes cannibalism of rival's cultivation materials, to complete genocide/extermination/carnage of everybody (women, children, elderly, everybody)??? It's as if, the author's personal experience and knowledge is all about organized crime, plunder, and carnage-extreme-violence. The author promotes continued-sexual-assaults and even the use of date-rape-drugs to consume the sexual assaults which should never be promoted or tolerated. Especially if they are all minors and this series "targets" minors.
This series has popularity, in the web novel forums, and I do not understand why??? I find the the author's pseudonym absurd. There is nothing honest, kind or good that can come from mass-murder and plunder. The main character is constantly at or attending martial academies, tournaments and training and never ever attends any classes, has any type of formal education or progression system-education. The author does not have a rule of equivalent exchange, or Golden Rule, or consequences for the main character's agressive-irresponsible-immature-nature. Everybody dies around the main character (friends-family-town-school) and the main character (and author) never learn anything from it. As if they are ignorant of the consequences or already so convinced of the fatalism, that they do not longer care (signs of deep psychopathy and delusion/disconnection from reality/ from the emotional consequences of all the violence, carnage and loss). That and I feel that the author and main character prioritize leveling over anything else. Like they are "addicted". Because main character prioritizes plundering and cultivation, he lets eveybody around him die (by the hand of his rivals and enemies). It is a negative synergistic cycle-vicious-cycle-death-cycle over and over again and again and again...

Best one of this type I have read so far

The translation wasn't too bad, and the grammatical errors did not take away anything from the story. My only problem is that everyone of these books seem to have the same plot line. This one is probably the best so I will focus on any sequels in this series.

Worst piece of fiction i've read (up to c920), trash power system, trash battles, infinite filler of reactions, full of plot armor and conveniencies, all the characters have no brain and no development. Literally nothing good came out of this and that's an achievement.

I like it. I fill it is a good start to a series. I understand this is just the first part of the first volume. The bad thing s the official publication stopped here. The ebook format is so much better and easier to read. However this will not stop people read it since it is on a WW. I will be continuing this series.

I'm not reading this book anymore. It is too damn long and the author keeps repeating scenes just with different names. The story could have finished long ago but I suspect the author is intentionally delaying the progress. Lost interest in it

Classic and good

I am reading it Alain, and for the second time I'm enjoying it! Would recommend for anyone who is fond of classical cultivation (with a hint of selfmockery) and innocent romance.

The rating given is not a correct portrayal of the individual book's rating but as a general rating of the series as a whole.

Needs a better translator I think - there were a lot of awkward phrasings that a native English speaker would not have used.

Protagonist was never in any danger, which kind of killed the momentum.

When I read this I was new to the genre and so it was a unique experience, it really lets you in to the hot-blooded your wuxia that is o so common in this genre.

Entertaining story, but the translation makes it hard to enjoy.
I wonder why most of these translations are so consistently bad. Maybe a literal translation of concepts strung together without regard for English sentence construction. Irregular verbs are mostly treated as if they were regular and simple past is normally used for past participles. ("had went" is driving me crazy.) Also a lot of obscure words which forces me to check if for example "admirative" is a word or just a wild ass guess.

Alright I'm gonna assume you read my review of CD, I like MGA more but if you hate harem which is in this book (though not to the extent of Japanese Light Novels).

If you liked CD and want a more ruthless and unforgiving lead, Chu Feng is way better as a main character; smarter and more ruthless, devious. There's an excerpt from the latest chapters I'll post on the comment later on.

Warning: this light/web novel has a few adult scenes.

To good to put down

This is an excellent book. one that I was totally unprepared for, I couldn't put it down until I had read the entire book... which made work the next day a bit rough seeing as I didn't get any sleep haha. I highly recommend reading this book, you won't be disappointed.

A Great Start

This tale is well written and keeps one attention till the end. Like many tales from. China's history it is rich in tradition and spirit fro a rich culture. The harsh actions may turn many away but this was normal. Like the journey to the west this is a well thought out plot and great enjoyment to read

Fun read

Very different type of world but quite interesting. Character development isn't amazing and the main character faces unbelievable obstacles. That said, there is constant action and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Awesome book

This book was good I really enjoyed the story. I did want to note that there are a few misspelling or incorrect translations. The story was worthy of the money I spent
