Almost everyone remembers their first love. And so, we take a peek back at the D'Artigo sisters' first loves in three short stories. Because long before Smoky, Morio, and Trillian came into her life, Camille's heart belonged to her cousin Shamas. And before Shade, Delilah was learning what love meant from her all-too human detective. And Menolly wasn't always a vampire...at one time, she had dreams of creating a family with a man who taught her to respect herself and never settle for anyone who tore her down.

Forbidden Love: Camille and Shamas secretly plan their future together, until his envy over her connection to the Moon Mother, and an attempt at an arranged marriage get in the way.

Im-Purrfect Match: Delilah never expected to fall for Chase Johnson. But one night, while searching for information on a man named Tom Lane, the werecat and the detective discover an unexpected attraction.

Shadows of Love: Menolly wasn't always a vampire. And once, long ago in Otherworld, a gentleman farmer taught her that she should never settle in matters of the heart.

Camille and Menolly's stories of first love broke my heart. Camille due to how she was betrayed, Menolly's because it seems like this was the last time she was "normal" and happy, before the horrible event that would change her so much. Delilah's story was just cute, nice to have that for one of the girls.

Camille's story was sad. Delilah's story was lovely it reminded me of teen love. Menolly's was sad to have all that happiness taken away from her. Damn.

I loved reading about the sister's first loves. Camille and Shamas's love is put in danger by choices the couple has to make. Delilah' s story is when her and Chase first realized they had feelings for each other. And Menolly's story is of a love and life before she Dredge. All three were great stories and gives you insights to the sisters and their hearts.

Three short stories detailing the first loves of Camille, Delilah, and Menolly. We've seen that before Trillian, there was Camille's cousin Shamus but now we see why it really didn't work out and it wasn't just their family's disapproval. Next we get to read more about the start of Delilah and Chase's relationship since that happened during one of Camille's turns at narration. Lastly, we get a glimpse of what Menolly's life could have been like before she was turned into a vampire as she becomes friendly with the neighboring farmer.

It was nice to see what their relationships were before we saw them with their current, lasting partners.

Short but sweet look at the first loves of the three D'artigo sisters. Three stories, one for each sister. Camille fell in love with their cousin Shamus. Find out how Delilah and Chase first got together. Before she was turned, Menolly was in love with a neighbour. As always Yasmine Galenorn gives you tantalising glimpses into this world, leaving you wanting more.

Foreboding

These stories are the best insight into what makes the characters who they turned out to be. I especially liked the glimpse into Menolly's past. She lost the most when she was turned and sent Earthside.

Good history story

Good short stories of the sisters past loves and the tragedy that was there for one. There was happiness for a short time before tragedy struck.

It was nice to finally get a bit more of a glimpse into the lives of these characters when they aren't just fighting a battle as in the regular books of this series.

I think I love everything this woman writes. I love how these short stories help to round out the picture of the lives of the Otherworld characters. It adds to understanding of the OW books.
