After the world was ravaged by a viral apocalypse, Blackwater is one of the only colonies that remains. The survivors came together to create this safe haven. Nestled between a fierce river and a city’s flood wall, the well-being of its residents hangs on a long-established treaty with the night-walkers. Sounds simple enough, but lately, the people of Blackwater have been ...more

Vampires and infected humans that seem to be not much more than zombies. This was different and pretty good. I won't be reading the next book right now because I'm too upset about what happened to the heroine at the end. If I had a mother like this heroines mom, it would have been bye bye moms, you ain't worth a hill of beans. ...more

A viral catastrophe leaves Blackwater Colony in peril. Humans must watch out for the Infected roaming around town waiting to sink their teeth to eat them. A Rotation is held weekly to get enough food ration to starving families.

I had trepidation beginning this book. I'm not a fan of vampire books but a huge fan of "zombie" books and I have read a lot of both. I am so glad I did read this! Casey did such an amazing job of twisting the zombie and vampire genre into a smooth, seamless and imagination filled story. ...more

This book is one of my absolute favorites! I devoured it in one evening and now I am going insane waiting to know what happens next.

I have read quite a few books by author Casey Bond. I love the originality of her stories and the fact that I never know where she will go with each character or the plot. I have many times slammed my kindle shut and wanted to pull my hair out at some of the craziness that comes from her mind. LOL That's what makes her work so exciting to read and the fact that her

Good but not great

This book didn't hold my attention as thoroughly as I would have liked. While it had a different concept to other vampire/human/other books I've read, something just didn't grab me.
3.5 Stars

Holy mother of cliffhangers Batman. Fuck this blows. But apart from that, I loved it.

**Mild Spoilers**

There are a couple things I don't understand, however:

How does a colony of about 200 residents not know everyone fairly well? Especially since it is an "island" without new people coming and the old leaving?

Why don't they raise the kids to hunt so that it becomes a common skill? It would give those who are chosen for the rotation a better chance of bring food home.

Why don't they also ra

The hype around this book is what pulled me in and then constantly seeing it everywhere in my feeds is what pushed me to finally buy my own copy. With that being said I’m sad to say that I wasn’t head over heels about it. Yes, the story pulled me in and kept me interested but it just wasn’t quite what I had in mind. I think one of the big reasons why I feel kind of meh about this book is because of certain things not being told to us like, how did night-walkers reveal themselves to the world? Ho ...more

First off I have to say that I couldn't put this book down! The story pulled me in from the start. The characters had depth and the story line flowed beautifully. The book sent me on an emotional roller coaster and the twists and turns in the plot always surprised me.

I have to say that Casey L. Bond not only is an extremely well story teller, but is incredible in her way of bringing the story to life. You can actually feel as if you are there in the story with the characters and you can feel all

I think my heart is still beating out of my chest. Frenzy is an exhilarating thrill-ride in a unique post-apocalyptic world filled with dangerous beings. Some are unable to control themselves and others barely keep themselves from helping themselves because they have a treaty with the humans.

The world Porschia lives in is harsh, cold, and difficult to live in. Even her own mother despises her. I can't even fathom having my mom hate hurt my heart for poor Porschia!

I finished reading Frenzy 2 days ago and I can't get it out of my mind.. I NEED to know what happens next!! Frenzy is an Amazing start to what I'm sure will be an EPIC series by Casey Bond. How can you go wrong with a story that has both Vampires and the Infected in it.

The Colony has a treaty with the Vampires who have sworn to protect the humans from the infected in exchange for allowing the vamps to feed off of them.. The treaty is in jeopa

I was going to give this 2 stars, but it ended a solid three. It had the potential to be so much more, but it fell flat in a few ways.

First, the book is based post zombie apocalypse...with vampires. Hell yea, amirite? People in a horrible world, just trying to survive with the help of a treaty with Vampires to protect them on their hunts in return allowing the vamps to feed on them.

The storyline was good, rather enjoyable actually. But at times the writing felt juvenile...I was certain it was th

Mama's Thoughts:

Just when you think you've got it all figured don't. Casey L. Bond wields words like a weapon, though a bit more delicate at times than others, drawing you in to her world so completely that you can barely breathe by the time you're finished. You'll come up for air and be begging for the next book once you've finished Frenzy. I certainly can not wait to find out what happens next and to have some questions answered. Part post apocalyptic nightmare, and part blood curd

Frenzy is the first book I have read by this author and I really loved it. This book had plenty of action and excitement but it's best part is the character building. The author is very good at creating captivating characters that I cared about. The combination of zombies and vampires was well done though I hope there will be more zombies in the future books. The pace of the book was well done and the book never dragged. The book was short and left me wanting more in a good way. The ending was a ...more

After finishing RICHES TO RAGS I was in the mood for more of Bond’s great writing and fantastic storytelling. So when I remembered I had FRENZY on my kindle I quickly tracked it down and started on a marvelous adventure. I mean, it has not only vampires...but zombies as well. My favorites!!

I quickly and ravenously took in this book. I was reading at any spare moment I could find. When I finished I was kicking myself for not renewing my KU subscription late last night. I would have loved to have

What's not to love.....vampires, zombies, dystopian society.....this book has all of that and more!

I won't bother to restate the blurb on this book since you can read that for yourself. Porschia is a young woman, rejected by her B of a mother through no fault of her own. Porschia's sister, Mercedes has died (or maybe not) while in The Rotation, hunting food for the Colony. Porschia is blamed because it was her turn for the Rotation but was too anemic to go.

For a book with "Zombies" it was not like that at all.

This book held so many emotions.
The MFC was amazing. She didn't let the grieve get to her.

How the Vampires in this series was plotted is amazing, and mysterious, and intriguing!

I can't believe how the book ended! I have to know more about all of these characters, Roman, Tage, Saul, Ford, MC's mother and father. I have to know it all!

This easily has become my next binge-read, and that is saying something because I haven’t binge-read a story in ages! I love the delicate balance between the unaffected humans, night walkers, and infected people. There are so few unaffected humans that walk a tightrope of survival. The people are starving and barely survive on limited resources. There is a treaty in place with the night walkers to keep them safe when they hunt, yet they offer themselves up as the night walkers’ dinner. This trea ...more

“Her pearly white teeth would yellow and chip off as she gnawed on blood and bone, sometimes animal, sometimes human, but always anything she could grab a hold off.”

This is a short dystopian book that see’s a survivor colony of humans partnering with vampires to fight the zombies that infect their friends and family, steal any available food and live just the other side of the river protecting Porschia and her family. To get extra rations for her family, Porschia enters the hunt, where she gives

My Thoughts:

As anyone who follows this blog will well know, I am a huge Casey L. Bond fan. Admittedly, I haven't read her entire backlog and just recently jumped on board the Bond Bandwagon, but even based on the few works I have devoured, I can say with confidence that she's one of the most talented writers I've worked with as of late. Her stories are full of gripping emotion and such vivid plots and settings that r

Frenzy has been on my kindle for a criminally long time, I'd heard great things about the series but I wasn't really in a vampire mood; for a pretty long time I have to say. Having read and enjoyed a couple of vampire based stories of late I thought I would jump in.

I'm glad to say that it wasn't vampiretastic and there was a really great balance between humans, vampires, and infected that worked well. Vampires in an apocalypse is not a new scenario but as it's not done often it felt fresh as a s

Zombies and vampires in the same story—priceless!

The more I read by Casey L. Bond, the more I love her writing. “Frenzy” has to be one of my favorites, so far. I got a smash up of dystopian and paranormal all in one book and loved it!

The characters in “Frenzy” were splendid. Porschia (I love the different spelling) was strong, brave, and utterly determined. Her circumstances should have evoked pity in the reader. Instead, her willingness to stand up for herself made me applaud her. Shame on a pa

Frenzy by Casey L. Bond is a 4 star start to the apocalypse series involving a mix of zombies and vampires. The blend of the two worlds ends up amazing in this book.

In Frenzy, we are taken to of the only places that humans are left to safety because of their location. While the rest of the world has fallen to a virus, this community is left u touched and protected by not only their natural surrounds, but vampires. They are called night-walkers in the story and have a treaty in

Recommends it for: Those looking for a new twist on a couple of old genres.
I'm a long-time fan of Casey L. Bond, and when I heard she had a zombie/vampire mashup novel, I was intrigued as hell. I knew that if anyone could pull off something of this magnitude, it would be Casey. Not only did I get to beta-read this book, I also bought it when it hit the shelves so I could read it after it was edited. Enough of my gabbing. Let's get to the good stuff.

This was a very good book. I read it in one day; couldn't put it down. The characters were well developed. I felt for the main character and what she was going through. You could literally feel the despair as the town tries to survive from day to day. The world and characters were so easy to imagine. I can't wait for the next book in this series!
