This was my first trashy romance read, when I was about 12 or 13...7th grade. During a King Blizzard. I got it from the Browse section of my dumpy old local Library. <3

Love doesn't come easy in this book. The couple must work through not only their mixed feelings, but many stressful situations. I especially liked the way Susan became friends with the Creek Indians, and the understanding of their situation of not being treated fairly, caught between two cultures and the land they owned taken from them. I wasn't sure I liked the heroine falling in love with her widowed brother-in-law instead of someone else, but they did suit each other. I liked the way they became a family which included Coonie.

Logan and Susan
This is a loving and unusual love story about Logan. Young widower and his two precocious young children. Susan is the younger sister of his late wife and she fancied her self in love with him since her teenage years. She travels from Missouri with him to Oklahoma Indian Territory and the youngsters under the pretense of helping him care for her nephew and niece. You will enjoy their journey discovering both hardships and loving enjoyment as a family and how they discover their happily ever after.

So much passion but shared history, mistrust & only partial disclosure continually sparks conflict. Doesn't help when your father's loopy.
