Reuben Nelms has worked hard all his life. First to escape the West Texas town where he grew up, then to negate the legacy of his family. One of his worst regrets was failing to protect a young woman from evil dealt by his blood brother. For years afterwards, he watched and protected her from the shadows, most comfortable in that faceless role.

Now known by his road name, D

"Looking forward, not back."

I'm a huge fan of the Rebel Wayfarers MC Series. It's better than chocolate. I hope I never have to choose between a new Rebel book and a cup of coffee, because if I did, I'd be the grouchiest happy reader ever. I can't get enough of those incredible men that were created in the mind of an amazing author. They have so many layers, and she takes me through each one of them, until I'm so invested it would take a natural disaster to pry my hands from my kindle.

Duck is no

I have been staring at this screen and contemplating my review for days. Not because I don't know what to write, but more because I have so much to say about this book. Duck, along with all of the other books in Rebel Wayfarers MC Series give me an overwhelming sense of belonging. Like walking into your favorite neighborhood pub and seeing the friendly faces of the regulars. No matter what, those regulars will be there to welcome you back. You can trust these books and they're amazing creator to ...more

Sweet sweet broken Duck.... so glad you have found your way!

Ms. deMora has told a very poignant tale with regards too Duck. He is such a tortured soul. His devil of a father and wicked brother were evil incarnate. They inflicted pain on women that no one should ever experience just for their kinks and shortcomings... they almost destroyed Duck, but in the end love finds a way and always wins.

Reuben Nelms was born on a ranch with horses in his DNA. His family has been into rodeos and breeding for

This is book eight in the Rebel Wayfarers Series and the previous books should be read before reading this one as there are so many references to past events and of course all the MC brothers are recurring throughout this book as they are in previous books.

JOSIE'S REVIEW 4.5 STARS

MariaLisa deMora has done it again! This author never ceases to amaze me. She is able to bring out so much emotion from me through her writing and some very emotional characters. Duck’s book felt so right, natural and was a story I have never read before. Unlike the other books in this series, Duck’s story takes place in his home town of Texas and not in Chicago or Fort Worth. If you follow this series than you know that some of the stories overlap, but each one feels dif

I can't ever get enough of the Rebel Wayfarer men. They're such a perfect mix of simple and complicated, gruff yet tender, strong but vulnerable. Duck was no exception to this and finally getting to know him on such a deep level has been a pleasure.

We meet Duck early on in the series but we only get small glimpses of him. He was one of those guys that hung around the background but

MdM does it again! Not only delivers an awesome book but a freaking tear jerker at that! Dammit!

Duck certainly did come full circle eh? I'm so happy for him, because he really did deserve some good and happy in his life. Being related to something so evil and vile, I have no idea how the hell he turned out so fucking pure hearted like he did, he may think he was a coward but I think years of being so scared and disgusted with his brother were so naturally ingrained in him,he had no choice but t

Duck is the 8th book in the Rebel Wayfarers series and for me it just keeps getting better and better. You have to read the series in order to follow what is going on because things get referenced from other books, different perspectives and if you haven't read them, you will not get the full effect.
This story follows Duck at a time in his life when he is still trying to overcome what Ray had done to him and his friends. As you know Ray and their dad are psycho, sick people that get off on hurt

Review for Duck (RWMC #8) by MariaLisa deMora

How?!
How does she do it?
Every. Single. Time.
I keep waiting for that one character that I just don’t connect with … but it hasn’t happened. MariaLisa deMora has created a world full of strong characters. Each is completely individual from the others and likable for totally different reasons. I’ve read dozens and dozens of series. And at least seventy-five percent of the time it feels like the author is keeping it up just because it’s what the readers

I absolutely love this series and couldn't wait to read Duck's story.

Duck goes home to sort out some family issues at the request of the love of his life. Someone he left behind years ago, but has never let go of all this time. I so loved that about him. Then Brenda has something to share that will rock his world to the core. I really loved Brenda. She is his heart and soul mate. Theirs is quite the love story and I so enjoyed it.

I give Duck 5 hearts!

This story was incredible. I am a huge fan of this series. Love all of the characters. I love the storylines and all the wonderful relationships that are in each book. This woman knows how to write a story that will pull you in and make you feel every emotion as if you are the one living the story. Duck and Bee are amazing characters. I cried throughout the book, as I usually do with this series. I cried for everything that was lost. Love, time, innocence. Duck is a remarkabl

WOW Duck/Reuben's story starts off with a BANG. The way he grew up , the childhood he endured , I was horrified at the things he saw and had to do. It is obvious why his brother Ray - who we know from before and very much dislike - became the way he was. Their father was a despicable man and it is ironic how he came to his end. But anyhow - moving on with Duck's story. Much like the rest of the series we are filled with many many different things going on. We get pre-Rebel days/childhood , we ge ...more

Duck (Rebel Wayfarers MC, #8) by MariaLisa deMora is the next installment in the Rebel saga. Duck aka Rueben is the brother of Ray who we know as the abusive guy and in this story we find out how the guys ended up being the people they are. We learn a lot about Duck aka Reuben’s younger years plus his time once he decided to join the Rebel’s. Part of his past is the love of his life Brenda. He left her after a night of lovemaking. Now she is calling him up trying to get him to come home to the f ...more

It's the eighth book in the Rebel Wayfarer MC series. A series that should be read in order to fully understand the intricacies of the RWMC. Are the characters well developed and complex? You, betcha! Other Rebels make appearances and move in and out of Ruben's book but in no way detract from his story, instead they make it richer. MariaLisa touched on the very dark past and dysfunction of Ruben's childhood but that scene helps the reader understand what drives Ruben to become the man known as D ...more

Duck finds his way home

Duck has been so trapped in his mind with the horrors that his father and brother wrought, especially against people who became family to him. Needing to deal with that, it's no surprise why Mason is the club president as he permits him the time needed.

This book gave me all the feels - from laughter to tears - and I am thrilled to see Duck get his HEA after years in the shadow!

WOW! It was such a great read. I just love this series. Each book has such a different story to tell. You get such a great view into the characters that it makes you feel like you know them personally. The book just flows so nicely that you don't realize you've been reading for hours. You won't want to put it down once you start. I am so glad Duck got his HEA he really did deserve it. There was a bump or two on the road to happiness but he over came them with class. Rated Great

Raised in the south, MariaLisa learned about the magic of books at an early age. Every summer, she would spend hours in the local library, devouring books of every genre. Self-described as a book-a-holic, she says “I’ve always loved to read, but then I discovered writing, and found I adored that, too. For reading … if nothing else is available, I’ve been known to read the back of the cereal box.” ...more
