Describes how the electoral process works, discussing voters; candidates; parties; role of the media; finances; and such stages in the process as primaries, caucuses, conventions, the general election campaign, and Election Day.
I'm reading this book to refresh my memory. I took an American Government class in high school about 20 years ago, and have been wanting to dust the cobwebs off my knowledge of politics now that my 9 year old son is showing an interest in this year's elections. I saw this book in the local library and picked it up on impulse. Good, straightford information and easy to read.
While a bit dry, I found this book to be informative. I'll admit that before I read this book, I was confused about the definition of a superdelegate. Now, I have a bit more insight. A nice book to have under my belt before the up coming election.
