Sydney Lake has a secret. She has no idea who she is, where she is from, or what caused her to lose her memory in the first place. Four months ago she woke up alone and injured with a message written on her arm.
DON’T LET THEM FIND YOU
Not knowing who “they” were, she took the warning seriously. Sydney ran. For months she lived in hiding—always afraid of being found by Them. When Sydney wakes from a strange dream with a bleeding nose she chalks it up to just another bizarre turn of events. However, when she discovers she is just one of many who have had the same dream she realizes something worse is happening.
The dream sets into motion events that convince Sydney They have finally found her. At first Sydney is determined to run again—to save her friends as much as herself. But, to survive, she has to stop running. To keep her friends safe, she has to save herself.
I was born and raised in Lexington, KY, but I've moved around a bit since then. Currently, I live outside of Chicago and write when I'm not working to make the world a better place (my day job is at a nonprofit).
If one person enjoys the stories in my head, I'm happy. And inspired to keep going. If you keep reading, I'll keep writing. Who am I kidding--I'm gonna write even if no one is reading.
The plot is a unique and different idea which I enjoyed. However, I felt the beginning could have used some organization. In a way, the confusion almost makes sense because the main character is confused about herself as well. It just makes it hard to follow for the reader, in my opinion. Normally, I wouldn't read a book that's as morbid and carelessly violent like parts of this book. However, it became easy to get gripped into the plot and eventually come back for more. The ending could be a great spin-off for a sequel.
Don't Let Them Find You A great book. From the start it piques our curiosity and maintains till the end. Starts slowly and picks up tempo as the story progresses and you become caught in the story of Sydney Lake. And every think you think you shall unravel the mystery of her and her stalkers identity and whats her problem. Loved it
