This stunning and original British travel guide charts lesser known gardens, spectacular meadows, the best kitchen garden food, plus wild places to camp and stay.
The concept of the book is great.....gardens, meadows, places to stay and places to eat around each county. I'd love to take this travelling next time we're in another part of the country.
However, looking at the suggestions for our area, two of the choices for food are ones we've gone to once and never returned as either the food itself, service or both were not fantastic. There are other places much better around. I suppose that's the disadvantage of one person having to try all of these spots instead of local knowledge in each area.
A few oddities in editing that should have been picked up, particularly the key which is missing the symbol which eventually I figured out meant a location which also sells plants.
