I know I was born with D/s in my blood. It wasn’t nurture; it was nature – embedded in my DNA since day one. During my formative years there was no internet (for the masses, anyway). I scoured magazines like Penthouse or Playboy, searching for any article I could find on BDSM. Later, I got my hands on ‘The Story of O’, and a smattering of other kinky novels. I began to understand the difference between consensual and non-consensual, the eroticism of bondage and discipline, the necessity of limits and a safeword, etc. There’s a great quote from Paul Valery, “I write half the poem; the reader writes the other half”. These early novels including the Beauty series by Anne Rice spurred my own imagination in ways that movies (such as 9 and a ½ Weeks) could not. Reading lets you add your own interpretive spin on the story or fantasy, imagining it your own unique way. Times have changed, and now there are hundreds of kinky novels out there – and a great number of educational websites, etc. I hope my work moves others in the same way that previous BDSM books moved me.

A 5 Star story we can all relate to!
We all experience Pleasure Pain or Purpose.
From page one this book drew me in to the lives of three best friends as they navigate life, loss and love. It's clear from the start these women are strong and as devoted to one another as best friends can possibly be. The opening lines made me laugh and think back on my own conversations with my female friends. The author captured their banter perfectly!
I fell in love with all three women and the way their stories unfold each taking over a chapter and seamlessly rotating between their intertwined lives. The way it was written is a fresh approach to developing the story line.
Billie has recently lost her life partner and the love of her life, David. Throughout her journey she often bounces between feeling normal and happy to overwhelming sadness and despair, much like anyone in real life would feel if they have lost their love. Her path the healing is well underway by the close of Pleasure and I can only hope she finds happiness again in the remaining installments of Pain and Purpose.
Jasmin, a tough cop with a love of adrenaline filled thrills finds herself mixed up with a known criminal. With her handsome boss, Gladstone always keeping an eye out for her I can only wonder what will come of this triangle. She bends rules and lives on the edge. An edge I fear is bound to catch up with her eventually!
Vicky is struggling in a stale marriage. Her husband, Andrew, has always been supportive but they live more like roommates than lovers. When a huge fight and infidelity threatens to rip them apart, a spark is ignited that cannot be denied. Will this catapult them into a more passionate relationship or push them further apart?
I am left with many unanswered questions that peek my curiosity as to what will come next in Pain and Purpose! These three beautiful ladies could just as easily be best friends of mine as I can relate to so many things they are experiencing. I love that in a book.
Well done Al. I cannot wait to see what happens next!

Pleasure Pain or Purpose: Book One- Pleasure is the story of three best friends. This book focuses on Pleasure.
To be honest, I don’t know what I was getting into when I started reading this, just that the title and the cover was so entrancing for me, I wanted to get my hands on it. And of course, Al Daltrey was one of the Authors in our #ShhMaleAuthorEvent and chatting with him was an eye opener.
I usually start my review with a quote, as it helps me with where I wanted to take this review or the flow but when I checked my annotations, fully expecting of highlights, I realized I had none. Not because there was nothing that jump out for me, mind you, but because I was just enjoying reading this book and self analyzing if it does applies to me, or who I know of, that I’ve got nothing. Yep, face palm to myself.
As the title suggest, this book was about pleasure. But don’t let it misguide you. What I love about the book is that it focuses on you as a person, or of individual female of what fantasies or act will give them the most pleasure or what they desire sexually.
The book has three main characters, and it’s like I had a taste of everything. And when I say everything, I mean everything. It encompass everything. No holds barred. Also, it explores relationships of us with our friends, or with partners. Of how females usually are.
What surprises me the most is that while reading, I was actually thinking a woman is writing this book. Because how can a male write that sounds like he’s a female, and do it so effortlessly? Seriously. And how can that male author just know how it is how a female, or different females, act in situations? I mean. Yeah, it boggles my mind.
Sexuality is my favorite topic in non-fiction books especially when it’s about exploring what you like sexually, owning it, making that desires yours. I like how it brings someone’s confidence, especially of a female. And how she is able to express it literally. But explaining your kink, your desires to your friends that isn’t in the lifestyle nor who enjoys kink, well, this definitely was the answer to that question I had in my mind.
Seriously, this is by far the best book I’ve read that explores that idea. This was just so beautiful it took me days to find words to express how this book has just touched me.
The writing style of the Author was also new to me and it took me less time getting used to with it, but when I had, it just made me want to devour the pages as fast as I can.
I can’t wait to read what’s next. This is a serious must read.

Loved, loved, loved this book! This story is very different than any erotica romance I read before.Three best friends share their cheeky banter, and their own personal shit going on.They each have personal struggles and different approaches in how to deal with their struggles. Their banter was delicious, and their friendship was refreshing to read as they supported each other through thick and thin. As each reveals their own personal issues they came clean admitting they each enjoy being subs and enjoy BDSM lifestyle...
Well, the result was a fun, hot, sexy and very steamy story.

This book covers the lives of three best friends. Biljana Stevens - better known to her friends as Billie - is still suffering from the loss of her lover and isn’t sure she’s going ever get over it. Jasmin Stallworth is in the Special Investigations department and loves her job as a police officer. Vicky Knox is the only friend who is married and she works in the medical research field and is mostly happy with her life -- outside of the bedroom at least.
This is my first book by Mr Daltrey and I loved his writing style. I am usually a fan of the first person point of view, but in this third person novel I was able to gain a better understanding of all the friends and what they were really thinking at all times and get a better grasp on the situations. I felt the emotions in this book and enjoyed reading about their feelings and their emotions rather than just about their bedroom life.
Billie is stuck in the past with David, her lover who died in a freak work accident. She can’t get over the fact that she has always felt like she was his and that they were to spend the rest of their lives together fighting the world together. She doesn’t know how to cope alone...or she doesn’t think she does anyway.
Jasmin puts herself in a crazy-ass situation and finds herself being submissive to a criminal guilty of killing cops. She finds that she is stimulated by his control over her and they definitely have some hot and heavy scenes.
Vicky thinks she needs to heat things up in the bedroom with her husband and finds herself in a predicament she doesn’t know what to do with.
I loved that the three friends relied so heavily on each other and found solace in their friendship...even when they had a fight, they managed to make up. I wish I had a group of girlfriends like them!!
Mr Daltrey did a great job of putting me into this story and his imagination made my imagination go crazy, too. I can’t wait to read the other two books in the series, Pain & Purpose, and I highly recommend that you try this one, too.

This is the second book of Al Daltrey's that I've read and I must admit this is even better than the first. The story of three female friends each one has her own issues. There's Biljana a widow and still can't move on from her husband's death, Vicki who is having doubts about her husband Andrew and then there's Jasmine who is passionate about her work she will give her all and risk it all. I love that in this book the author has made his characters more emotional, the engagingly funny banter amongst the besties made me laugh at times, there's more action involved and as expected there's also BDSM. I thoroughly enjoyed reading these women's stories and the ending is a cliffhanger but not that type of a cliffy that will make you throw your kindle on the wall. I am so looking forward to the next installment. Hmmmm, I wonder how that will turn out? Who is going to save the day???

Pleasure, book one in the Pleasure Pain or Purpose series, introduces readers to three unique friends. Though very different, Biljana, Vicky and Jasmin share everything with one another, or almost everything. As they reflect on their changing lives we get a glimpse into each woman's individual story. Though their careers and relationships have taken different paths, Pleasure focuses on the different sexual experiences the women have had in their lives, with current and other partners. From vanilla sex to kinky BDSM sex, together they rely on one another for advice and support as they maneuver the confusing direction their lives have taken.
Pleasure was a very unique reading experience for me, as I had yet to read a novel that combined the elements of vanilla sex with kinkier sex, as well as included personal stories for each character. Al Daltrey wrote PPP1 out of the box, giving readers female characters they could relate to on a number of levels and providing a setting that women from all walks could read and enjoy. The women are relatable, not just due to their friendship and relationship with one another, but also from their heartbreaks, their sexuality, and their lump sum of experiences. I easily became invested in Jasmin's story, saw myself in Vickie, and had a bit of a love/hate problem with Billie. The character development that went into each woman was astounding and really made the changing POV enjoyable for me. I loved getting to know the women as separate individuals, as well as getting to experience their interactions together.
This is absolutely an emotional read though, with both the character's stories and how close to real life much of it resembled. I smiled when they smiled, grew angry when the girls grew angry, and absolutely shed tears when my heart hurt for the characters and a bit of myself. The smut was also very well written, in a way that allowed the readers to visualize it, but also understand what those sexual experiences meant for the character. It was so easy to get lost in the women's lives that when I finally came to the end I might have been a little mad at the cliffhanger.
Pleasure is a fantastic release from Al Daltrey and I recommend it to readers from all walks of life. If you are a fan of romance novels in general, especially with some delicious smut, this is for you. Though it does end on a cliffhanger, Pain, is available now.

My 5 star review for Book 1- Pleasure.
After reading Testing the Submissive and A Condo With Two Views I had a taste for Al Daltrey's writing, so I was eager to dive into this little gem. I must say, Pleasure book 1 is very different to his other work but also a breath of fresh air. Mind you, it still has his erotic kink to it, as I like to say " His trademark".
A story which is based on three friends with a unique bond between them. Single handenly they are all going through some sort of life changes but together they can conquer anything...
There were times when I did say to myself...I'm going through this or I know somebody who is going through this, so clearly these things do happen to us.
Al Daltrey be proud of your work, your writng and creativity has grown immensly. Bring on Book 2!

Something new from the pen of Al Daltrey was sitting in my Kindle. And I can't tell you how excited I was to read it. Pleasure is a story that features three lovely ladies. Each one with their own individuality, style and way of living. Biljana, Vicky and Jasmin. Childhood best friends who have remained close throughout the years.
Biljana: Devastated by the loss of her lover in a tragic accident. Coming to terms with the grief that she was experiencing, she shut herself off from the world. Gradually with time, the pain eased but the loss was still very much alive and nothing was making it better. Through financial gain she decides to take herself off. Change her surroundings and try to find the peace that she so desperately craved. A new country leads to new adventures which slowly brings her back to life. Mentally, physically and sexually.
Vicky: Happily married to Andrew or was she? Their physical relationship had dwindled down to next to nothing and things were becoming boring. After one heated argument, the passion between the two escalated and both were overcome by their feelings. What happened next made her toes curl! Fearing that something was terribly wrong, Vicky did the one thing I shouted at my kindle for her not to do. “Never read someone else's emails.” There will always be something you don't want to see; needless to say, she didn't listen and what she finds will change her life.
Jasmin: An undercover cop who always went that extra mile for it and seemed to enjoyed it at the same time. A close encounter with a criminal awakens feelings in her that she cannot deny, and she didn’t. Even though she knew it was wrong she couldn't resist. She was irrevocably drawn to him, he knew it and played on it. What was it that he wanted from her?
I loved the layout of this story. Getting to know each of these ladies separately helped me understand where their personal journey was taking them. Every chapter was dedicated to each of them and I was hooked. As one chapter ended, another would begin leaving me wondering what was going to happen next. The talented Al Daltrey brought insight into the workings of a woman’s mind. Love, lust and pleasure were the three main ingredients that these ladies shared. This book was well written, well thought out and well presented. Definitely a pleasure to read. Thank you Al Daltrey. I look forward to you next instalment. Five pleasurable stars!

What ROCKED:
I loved how Al Daltrey explored each element of the title for each character. Billie found Pleasure after loss, Jasmin found it during an intense situation in a jail, and Vicky briefly found it in anger.
Pain was evident for Billie during her grief cycle. Jasmin had secrets. And secrets are usually to hide from something that can hurt you. Vicky’s marriage was not where she wanted it to be.
Each of the girls had Purpose. Billie showed us what unconditional love is. Jasmin shows us that it is ok to be a sexual being and still be great at your job, even if the two mixed at times. Vicky shows us the the importance of communication in a relationship and how quickly it deteriorates when not nurtured.

The friendships, love, and the ability for these strong women to stand strong, has me itching for book 2.

What ROCKED:
I loved how Al Daltrey explored each element of the title for each character. Billie found Pleasure after loss, Jasmin found it during an intense situation in a jail, and Vicky briefly found it in anger.
Pain was evident for Billie during her grief cycle. Jasmin had secrets. And secrets are usually to hide from something that can hurt you. Vicky’s marriage was not where she wanted it to be.
Each of the girls had Purpose. Billie showed us what unconditional love is. Jasmin shows us that it is ok to be a sexual being and still be great at your job, even if the two mixed at times. Vicky shows us the the importance of communication in a relationship and how quickly it deteriorates when not nurtured.

When I heard Mr. Daltrey was writing a trilogy, I did a mini dance. Finally, Mr. Daltrey was going to feed the addicted in me and give more. I’ve always wanted more once I finished each of his previous novels.
It is no secret that I love Mr. Daltrey’s writing style. I love getting lost in his stories and seeing where they will lead me. My curiosity ran wild with what this story might be like with the little teasers he would give us. I mean would this story be hot (this should’ve been a no brainer), would it be a mystery, how many characters would I end up needing more of. Well… It is uber HOT! Has some mystery to it! And I ended up needing more of all three women! HAHA.
When I read, I need to be completely consumed by a character or characters. I need to get lost in them and forget all reality. That is just how I read. For some reason, I could not connect with these ladies as individuals as much as I could as I could as a collective group. When they were together, I was sucked in and could not get enough of them. The problem for me was I wanted to get lost in each character individually just as much. Right when I was getting comfy in one's head we would switch gears to another person.
This story had so many layers to dive into and try to figure out. We got not only one but three leading ladies who lives interlock. The way Mr. Daltrey teases us with Biljana, Jasmin and Vicky’s stories both drove me mad and kept me captivated as I read. Mr. Daltrey gave us a glimpse of how their lives were alone and how the group was doing in each segment of the book.
Hands down though, my favorite part of this story was the strong bond these ladies had. Even if their lives were an absolute shamble, they always had time to be there for their best friends. That bond had me smiling more than once as I read the story. I loved how more than once Jasmin and Vicky slowly nudge Biljana towards the truths she needed to see herself. And let her discover what they had seen all along.
The same happened with Biljana and Jasmin when they wanted to defend Vicky and light into her husband, but they didn’t. They knew she needed to figure out what she ultimately wanted and did not want to sway her to what they wanted for her.
Each one of these ladies at one point or another think they are not strong enough to handle a particular situation but after working it out, they ended up being stronger than they ever imagined.
For Biljana Stevens she does not realize how incredibly strong she is when she set off to one foreign country after another to find herself. The other two could have never did that the way she did.
Jasmin Stallworth hides behind her badge. On the outside she is fierce and a force to be reckoned with, but on the inside she wants someone to take the reins from her and lead her. The one person she thinks she wants she is scared doesn't want her back, so she turns to an unlikely source to give over the control until it could bite her in the tush.
Vicky Knox is lost in her marriage, she wants more from her husband, but does not know how to vocalize it. She doesn’t want her husband to look at her differently and is afraid to tell him what she truly needs from him. What she doesn’t realize is that the one thing she is scared to tell him she needs could save her marriage. When she finally gets the nerves to discuss it, will it be too late?
Trust me, you want to know. This is a book I’d recommend if you’re seeking female characters with flaws, but find the strength within themselves to overcome adversity and triumph in their lives.

Another amazing read from Al Daltrey
This is the first in a trilogy from Al about three women who have been best friends since school.
Biljana (Billie) who lost her soul mate and dom husband David three years earlier. She has decided she can no longer be with another man as she feels she would be betraying David.Finding herself travelling around the world trying to find somewhere to settle and lay her roots since "home no longer feels like "home" with no David there and too many memories.
Jasmine is an undercover cop who loves some kink and goes to dangerous lengths at times to fulfill her role in her job.
Vicki who thought she was happily married to her husband Andrew until she discovers a secret he's been hiding. During a fight with Andrew, she discovers a secret side to herself that she never knew existed and secretly wants to explore more.
Wow! Another fascinating captivating read from Al! Once I started, I didn't want to stop I was enjoying it so much and was thoroughly captivated.I had to put it down when I could no longer keep my eyes open, and I had to pick up again as soon as I could the next day to finish. Each book from Al is better than the last and this one is the best yet. I found it a bit hard sometimes, in the beginning, switching between the characters in separate chapters as we meet the characters and find out their back story but once I got into the swing of the things it didn't worry me. Love how these three women despite all their differences in personal life and tragedies that have happened, they have all remained strong friends. Like all Al's other books, there's a strong BDSM theme throughout so if you don't like BDSM this is not a book for you.Unfortunately, Al leaves us hanging with a massive cliffhanger so I hope Book Two is not too far away as I can't wait to see what happens next.

I was given Pleasure Pain or Purpose Book One by Al Daltrey for my honest review. Most know im a huge fan of Al's work, this book just proves why Al is such an amazing talented author.

Vicky who is married to the love of her life finds her marriage is at a stand still. When she finds out a shocking revelation, will Vicky be able to move on from it?
Jasmin is Special Investigator. When she is summoned by what they think is a cop killer she experience situations she never thought she would do.
I love the relationship these women have with one another even through thick and thin they stick together.
One of my favorite part of this book was when Billie was writing the girls an email she told them about a time with David She and another women were to be initiated in an official ceremony for an exclusive BDSM club, it was intense but very arousing ..

This is book 1 in a 3 book series by Al Daltrey. Billie,Jasmin and Vicky are 3 best friends who have known each other since they were in school. They're all in different personal situations, however when it comes to sex, they're each having some drama.
I love the friendship between the 3 women. They're very close and are always there for one another. I really like the characters and their individual storyline promises to entertain the reader over the next 2 books.
Al Daltrey provides a lot of kinky scenes as well as some tense moments. Looking forward to the next book in the series as this ends in a cliffhanger

As emotionally charged as Al Daltrey wrote his novel, I simply can't get over how well he wrote the other aspects in his novel; and by that, I do mean the *ahem* kinky aspects. They were, as explicitly described, well written, which is still something rare that I've so far seen in male authors, and that is only because of their style of describing certain body parts of the human anatomy (and truly, there has been some really horrible ones) are very different than the ones used by women. Each character, friend, compliments one another - the love, support and their journey brings them closer to one another, and their experiences come in handy when they need reassurances. Both the author and the novel came as a surprise: I had expected some BDSM aspects, however, I was caught completely off guard by the depth of emotions, an extended knowledge of the BDSM lifestyle and especially the carefully chosen words by the author. They say you can't judge a book by its cover, but you sure as heck can judge it by its content, and the only thing I can truly say is that if I could give it more than 5 stars, I would do so without a second thought: not only should Al Daltrey be on every readers to be watched list, but the Pleasure Pain Or Purpose series should absolutely be on your to be read list as well.

Pleasure is the first book in a series of three. This was also my first book by the author. If this book is any indication of Mr. Daltrey's other work, I think I've found another favorite author to add to my list.
Biljana Stevens, Jasmin Stallworth, and Vicky Knox have been best friends since childhood. As close as sisters, the three friends lean on each other for support and strength as well as help build each other up. Their interaction and closeness was wonderful, one of the best parts of the book for me.
We follow through each woman's personal situations as well as a few combined moments. Even with as close as they all are, it was awesome to see that they're also very different. We are able to see as each of them deals with different issues in life. They each had something I could relate to or recognize going on with them. That just made them more real for me, another plus for the book.
The book is written in third person from each woman's POV. I love the multiple POV style. I think it gives me a more clearer view of an entire situation. Plus, reading in third, as opposed to first person, seemed to give me a better understanding of what was going on. It really added to the element of the story.
As for the hotness factor, Mr. Daltrey sure can bring it. Definitely steamy reading here. Well done, sir!
I totally loved this book and can't wait to read the rest of the series. I'm going crazy wanting to know what happens. It's a need-to-know kind of thing and I absolutely need to know.

I loved this book. I loved the friendship between these women. We all have friends, and even though they are close, they don't always know everything. But no matter what happens, they are always there to help each other. Lets not leave out the supper hot sex. At points in the story, I had to sit in front of a fan just to make it.
I do want to warn you, it has a major cliffhanger, but this is a definite one click. I am waiting not so patiently for book two.

So this book about 3 very different women; that are at a very pivotal time in their lives.
Billie lost her husband in a freak accident while at work. He wasn’t just her husband though, David was her master. After getting a large pay out from the company David worked for, Billie takes off for place she always wanted to visit, but never had the money for, but does all of this travel make her happy?
Vickie is married to Andrew and is not happy. There is a spark missing and their sex life is all but dead. After goading Andrew into a fight, they finally have sex, but something is not right. So Vickie is on a mission and ends up getting into Andrews email to find out that he was emotionally unfaithful. But the Dom in Vickie is disappointed and you end up wondering what will become of their marriage.
Jasmin is a hardworking cop, who was undercover, but now a criminal is interested in her and seems to know absolutely everything about her! But Jasmin has a huge crush on her boss Gladstone, but in order to get information out of Diego, Jasmin has to enter sexual games with him…but what happens when Diego get out of jail?
So I am going to start off by saying that this is a dreaded cliffhanger! But I honestly didn’t mind it so much. Maybe it’s because I wasn’t so heavily invested yet or maybe the multiple main characters, either way, I am eager to read the next installment.
I will also be brutally honest in saying I didn’t like the character Billie at all! I sympathized with her over the loss of her husband, but other than that, I really didn’t care for her character. Where it came to Vickie; I actually sympathized with Andrew more than Vickie. There were times I actually wanted to skip her sections, but thought I would miss out of the book. But everything was different when it comes to Jasmin! I simply LOVED her character, and could actually read a book all about her!
The writing and plot made this book a great read, I totally enjoyed the book, even when it came to the characters I didn’t care for!
I give Pleasure, Pain or Purpose a well-deserved 8 out of 10!

Pleasure, Pain or Purpose was such a totally different book from the ones I'm used to reading. It's mostly written in 3rd person POV, which made it quite interesting. Albeit there are necessary parts that are written in 1st person.
As the blurb says, this book is about three best friends who are dealing with different life changes. Biljana (Billie) has to try and come to the terms of losing her soulmate, Jasmine deals with the interesting undercover work for the police force and Vicky's marriage has lost it's steam. Throughout the story, the girls get a chance to talk about their situations, hoping it helps in someway. There are times they get quite detailed and the stories get very steamy. OMG the kinky sex! Whoa! Talk about HOT! Some parts may leave you panting and wanting a fan or your significant other. LOL! There's BDSM, rough sex, fun sex, M/F, F/F, and just flat out kinky sex. This book is not for you if you don't like reading about that kind of sex. I, for one, was fanning myself.
All in all, this book had me not wanting to put it down at times throughout. There was one part where Mr Daltrey had me in tears. I was so hurt for the character and I felt every emotion that was being displayed. I love when that happens.
I was so excited to get to the end to see what was happening with the girls, but I was hit with a bombshell. My mouth dropped open and my heart rate picked up. NO! NO! NO! How could he do this! How could he make me go from smiling to my heart sinking? Yeah, that really happened.
So if you don't mind details and kinky sex, check out PPP. I'm looking forward to reading the next book. Thanks Al Daltrey! I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Well what can I begin with? Maybe by thanking being part of this release blitz of Pleasure Pain or Purpose by the most talented Al Daltrey. It is always hard to come by good or even great authors that hook you to their writing style and their storytelling capabilities, well with Al and this first part he has proven again he has both style and capabilities. With Billie, Vicky and Jazz's story we can witness there's something beside the kinky stuff that always accompanies it and that is life itself. Taken directly from the book and what I think represents the core subject in this first part is "...They came to realize that, while life is many things, one thing it's not -it's easy". It shows how from three different points of views we get to experience in a very easy and steady rhythm, thoughts, ideas and sentiments from three people struck by real life in different aspects. I love reading romance novels and when in accordance with erotica I love it even more. And I must confess that when written by this rockstar that is Al Daltrey is even much more of a rewarding experience. It may be a story told by many authors around the globe but this first part called Pleasure is sure to tie you up by every word written. It gets right on the spot with what to leave unsolved but not overtly left behind and what to cover right on. I must say I love the ending for this first part and that it was totally unexpected. Hope time passes at the speed of light because for me this part got me from beginning to end.

Truth be told, my go to genre is usually New Adult. I don't normally pick up books in the Erotica category. I find that sometimes you get a lot of sex, without a lot of emotion or character development. That changed when I read Pleasure, Pain or Purpose by Al Daltrey.
This is the story of three friends navigating through life. Billie has lost the love of her life, Vicky learns secrets about her husband and Jasmin is put into a situation that could cost her a career and so much more. You get snapshots of life for all 3 women, in alternating chapters from their point of view. Although each woman goes through very different scenarios, you can't help but appreciate the bond they have.

Whenever I see a synopsis caution of kinky sex, I wonder if that's a warning that the scenes that don't contain sex will fall flat. I worry that the story is just filler and the main part of the story is... well... the kinky sex. That is NOT the case here. Sure, it contains BDSM but the story holds up on its own. We are given background on each character setting each scene up to weave 3 separate stories together. Each story is different, yet each working part contributes in a way that holds your attention until the very end.
This is part of a series. It does end in a cliffhanger. You are left with unanswered questions. But does that really matter? It gives the story time to sink in as well as gives you something to look forward to.
To Al Daltrey, Thanks for proving me wrong. And I'm glad I picked this one up.

I could not put this book down!!! OMG what an emotional rollercoaster!! Al Daltrey in this book took me from heartbreaking moments to scenes that had me laughing out loud then finally but far from least those sexual encounters perfectly described that had me heading for a cold shower!!!
Billie, Vicky and Jasmin are three close and kinky best friends, this book describes their three separate life's journey and issues they are dealing with but the undercurrent of this book is their strength of bond and support they give each other. Al Daltrey's Pleasure, book one in his Pleasure, Pain and Purpose series is a wonderful and brilliant start to this must read series. It is a story that revolves around three best friends, Billie, Jasmine, and Vicki as they navigate life, love, and heartache. What I love about this book is how each chapter focuses on one of these strong female characters. You get to delve into their individual stories and see their dynamic when they are together. Each piece you learn about them just makes you more eager to learn more and see what happens next. These are three woman you'll undoubtedly love and want to hangout with on your next girls' night.
There is a reason why I eagerly await a new book from Al Daltrey, he knows how to write a story that you want to get lost in. He had me wishing these ladies were real and I could spend time with them. He also is knows how to write an incredible erotica story that will leave you fanning yourself. Al Daltrey has a hit with Pleasure Pain or Purpose: Book One-Purpose. He takes us into the minds and lives of three best friends, Billie, Jasmin, and Vicky. Each woman is facing her own crisis of strength, and Mr. Daltrey allows us to follow their journey.
From the beginning of this book, I fell in love with these three friends. Clearly, the author understands women, simply because the relationships between them were real and believable. I also felt he allowed us to delve into a true submissive's thoughts and emotions. Instead of portraying them as "robot sluts", we could feel and understand the dilemma of being a woman of respect, who physically and mentally, can't ignore the call of a Dom/Domme. This author gets it!
I loved the book, it's that simple. If there is anything to be critical about, it would be the fact we're left hanging at the end of Book One. However, the author's ploy worked. I want more...I want to know what is next, and I fully intend to read the next book. So Mr. Daltrey, bring it on!

This is a fantastic story about 3 best friends (Billie, Jasmin, and Vicky) who are each going through their own struggle in life.
Each chapter focuses on a different friend, which allowed us to get to really know each of thee women. The main characters were well-developed and each had a unique personality. This was such a great way to write the story – I kept getting sucked into each of their lives
As mentioned, each character was dealing with her own hardship and the author was able to switch the feel for each character in every chapter without causing confusion to the reader. It was so well written that it was easy to jump from one character’s story to the next.
Each character had a great story line with a sexy side mixed in. The sexy scenes flowed with the story as opposed to being added, just to get some sex in the book. I loved it!
I am so excited there is a second book because in addition to needing to have the storylines tied up (no pun intended) I am not ready to let these characters go just yet.

When I first started this book I didn't realize it was a series. That being said I will be continuing this series. I enjoyed the emotions explored in this book. Each character had a pivotal change in their lives where they discover the depth of their being. I usually don't read this genre but I loved the depth of the story. At first the dialog between the girls felt off to me until I got to know them and then the pieces fell into place. Especially since the depth of grief and change Billie experienced caught me off guard, however she had to adjust her life in so many ways after David. That being said there were very few errors and only a few moments where the sentence structure threw me, which is even more of a plus.
I cant wait to read the next installment and see if Jazz gets them out of there!!
