This didn’t have any of the information I was looking for. As someone without health insurance, I wanted some “recipes”, so to speak, to use to fight an infection. This told what herbs are good for what ailment, but not necessarily how to use it. I just want to treat my infection without paying astronomical prices to go to the doctor’s office and have to be put on antibiotics. I guess I’ll just live with it. It will go away eventually right? 😅💀

TIP: Did you know that you can use olive oil for snoring? Simply put 1 drop of olive oil in both nostrils before going to bed. To lower cholesterol levels, take one or two teaspoons of olive oil daily.

TIP: Clove is very effective in helping you to avoid premature ejaculation. For a few days, apply a few drops of clove oil topically with a carrier oil, such as sesame oil, by massaging the penis with it for around 15 minutes per day.

TIP: Aloe vera contains aloin, which eases the effects of hangover. It reduces problems like dry mouth, dehydration, and headache. It also relaxes the nerves and prevents the conversion of alcohol into harmful substances

TIP: Did you know that thyme stimulates and tones up the nervous system, such as neurasthenia, depression, nightmares, nervous exhaustion, insomnia, and melancholy?

Get a different Book

This is very basic, For more "scientific" text get a different book "Herbal antibiotics" by Buhner. He also wrote " Herbal Antivirals". Though I did like the pictures & listed counter indications for use of the herbs. I wish there were instructions how to make tincture & infusions for each of the 45 herbs not just some recipes later.

Bit of a misleading title. Did provide excellent information about a range of herbs, their uses and side effects and where you can buy online.
Wasn't exactly what I was looking for but it an enjoyable read non the less.

Beginning level book with few citations

This book might be a good resource for someone to look up an herb or two that might help their condition and then go do more intensive and dedicated research on that herb or those specific herbs. I wouldn't trust the information in this book by itself because, with the exception of the tables, there are no citations to any primary sources. The author does include a list of sources, but without citations to those sources the list is of little value. It comes down to whether you trust the author's personal knowledge with your health. I don't want to trust a name on the internet when I use potentially toxic herbs for my health conditions.

Great Resource!

Everyone should own a copy of this. I am not an anti-medicine person. What happened to me I s quite common, I became ill with more than 1 autoimmune condition and chronic pain, and traditional treatments were not enough alone. Plus I was getting recurrent infections and Doctors dont want you repeatedly on antibiotics if they can prevent it. My Dentist wouldn't give them to me anymore and wants me getting it from my PCP even though its a gum infection. Lets see how Garlic and oregano pills do. Copaiba, Tea Tree, and 4 Thieves blends essential oils have improved the infection and kept it from worsening, by "oil pulling" with a carrier oil. Coconut is most recommended but any will do.

Very good, simple, effective remedies.

This book is great for a beginner or intermediate user of natural remedies. I liked the top 45 herbs list. I felt that the warnings may be a bit offputting. While caution and care are necessary in use of any medicine, it seems that too low of a dosage is often a hurdle in the effectiveness of herbs. It is quite simple to check for reactions; give a small amount and wait awhile. How about a section on dealing with possible reactions? This can also be done naturally.

Good interesting book. Takes you through 45 herbs, explains their history briefly and their uses. At the end their is an overview of which to us for what ailment.

Bit unsure about some of the sources but seems valid enough to take with a pinch of salt.

I got the paperback for Christmas and so was expecting the pics to be in colour, they’re not. Making it harder to detect without google!

A nice simple read but could be improved with more scientific backing and a bit more reader-centric accessibility!

Maybe a few recipes or ideas to get integrated into life!

A book I was definitely looking for

I would recommend this book to everyone. Especially those against supporting the big pharma companies and government wanting to poison us with so many meds that have a huge irreversible side effect. That side effect is usually death. I use a lot of these remedies already. With normal antibiotics, remember, some of these must be taken more than once to be effective to help the body fight off whatever.

Herbal Antibiotics

I love knowing that a lot of the herbal remedy’s I grew up taking is found in this book. I also love that you get to learn more about the use, dosage, health and warning for each of the different types of herbs. Most of all I love this book because the herbed that are discussed is relatively cheap and easy to find or grow.

Easy to read and understand

The book is nicely written. Easy to read and understand. I like the idea of having knowledge about natural resources that are in most of our kitchens. I didn’t know that most of the foods that we consume have such of benefits and natural antibiotic properties.

Very informative reading

A great resource if you're looking for scientific, regional, and cultural information. It has only a handful of recipes, though it lists a huge variety if plants and herbs.
It does offer great dosage information, and a lot about side effects to be aware of.
It really should have had more recipes.

Lots of Information ~

There was a lot of information. It started out about the pharmaceutical side, with lots of pictures, graphs, making it read like a textbook. Then it explained the herbs and what they do. I liked the quick reference chart at the end.

Great book no fluff. Quick read, love the list of herbs for specific sickness. Wish it was more FAQ on other topics other than antibiotics.
