The first time Jayson Reece saw Chloe Schaeffer, he knew she would be his forever. He promised her then that he would show her how to live rather than just letting life pass her by. Now, 9 years later, they’ve had the storybook romance, a picture perfect wedding, and two twin boys to complete the family they always wanted.

But something is missing…

With two rambunctious boys

I just had the opportunity to read and review To Live Again (The Living Series #1) and This is Living (The Living Series #1.5) by Melody Dawn Back to Back. Both books are about the same Persons. Only “This is Living” takes places several years after the first Book “To Live Again”. And I can not advice to read “This is Living” without reading “To Live Again” first.

It was a well written, fast and easy read even if the plotline was hard to digest at times.

If I would have to sum up the content of th

Make sure you have your tissues close to you when reading this story. I do not usually cry when reading books but this story definitely brought out the tears (some may even ugly cry, so be ready!) This is the continuation of Jayson and Chloe’s story. Jayson is working in the ER trying to finish his residency and as a result is not able to spend as much time as he would like at home with his family. Chloe stays at home to take care of their twin boys and starts to feel like there is a strain in t ...more

I do not think I had enough tissues.
This book takes you a journey, not just through heartbreak but through family, relationships, work, and how a family is to function. Sure we are all humans, and in this book… the humans have flaws.

Chloe and Jayson’s story continues with this follow-up from To Live Again.
Chloe, a stay at home mom, who has twins.. learning to cope while her husband works.
Jayson, a working husband, in residency working to better himself for his family.

Heart warming & emotional. Tears of happiness and sadness will be shed.
Hardest review I've ever had to write. Urgh where do I start?.
I laughed, I cried, I laughed some more and I cried even more. Word of warning you will need a few boxes of tissues whilst reading this book. The author has put her heart and sole into this and it is an amazing read.

It's 9 years later Chloe and Jayson are married with their twin boys, but not everything is a bed of roses.

I know how hard it is to write a book and when I started to beta read I thought I'd be more helpful to the author about what she needed from me. But I just...I couldn't give the author the words she was looking for. Because I don't have them.

This was a book that makes you feel. It literally makes you stop and stare at the words, hoping to God you haven't just read the heartbreaking stuff. I cried. I laughed. I wanted to erase the hard times and rewrite them to a much happier ones. But, sometime

I'm not going to lie it took me a few days after reading this book to post up my review. This book hit kinda close to home. This book is incredibly moving on so many levels its kind of insane. But don't fret its not like your gonna bawl like a baby the entire time, there aremany times where you will laugh out right. It is a perfect balance of heart warming and heart wrenching. I cannot wait to see what's next from this amazing author.

I have so many things to say but the words aren't coming. This novella had me caught up in my feelings since the get. So, I'll start with what comes to mind:
1. I'd like to say that this story was the perfect length for a Novella. It wasn't too long or too short. It was perfect. The author managed the details and fact just right. It takes place 10 years after the first book and like a movie I saw it all play out.
2. Jayson and Chloe *sigh* THEY ARE IMPERFECTLY PERFECT!

Crystal Snyder, thank you for introducing me to this promising, young writer.

"This is Living", is Melody's second published book, and I have to say she doesn't shy away from difficult or taboo subjects.

Jayson and Chloe's story may seem all too familiar a young married couple trying to make a go of things, working hard, building a family, a life together. When having dreams, career, and being able to support and protect your family is your goal in life. Family can and often does become last on

Melody Dawn does it again. She continues Chloe and Jayson's story and I could not be any happier. I love that she was able to add more to these characters and tell us more about their future. This book is a lot more serious than "To Live Again." This novella goes in depth into their adult lives and issues on how to keep a marriage strong and to learn how to come back to one another no matter what happens. Chloe and Jayson have changed since the first book and we see how they are handling their a ...more

Incredibly moving! Chloe and Jayson have settled into married life. Unfortunately, Jayson's coworker is looking to start trouble. Will Chloe trust the bond she has with her sexy husband? Or will the claws come out?

Chloe is a survivor. Her past has helped shape who she is today...strong, in control and yet, still a girly girl. But can Chloe break those barriers down and let others in when the going gets tough? Is Jayson's love for her strong enough to weather one of the most difficult times in h

Real life and love

This book paints the picture of what really happens after the HEA. Its called life. Ms. Dawn has won me over with her writing style. Her characters are people who anyone can relate to. The past is always a part of the present and future which affects those around us. This book is a quick read that will suck you in to the lives of this wonderfully dynamic family. Jayson and Chloe have struggles but always use the struggle to grow as a couple. There is an emotional issue that man

Omg, I loved Jayson and Chloe in To Live Again (recommend to read first), and to see how thier lives have developed in This Is Living was amazing. Melody did a great job writing real characters that experience real problems that married couples experience. I recommend this continuing series to everyone! The author, Melody Dawn tells the story from different povs, so we know how all the characters are feeling and what their thoughts are. I'm so glad she does this! The main characters in this book are still Jayson and Chloe, just like the first book, To Live Again. I highly suggest reading book one to get all the background on everyone, but if you don't you will still enjoy book two. They first meet nine years ago, during a class at Rice University. ...more

What a GREAT continuation of these two characters from the first book where Jayson and Chloe first met 9 years earlier. This book does a fantastic job of being real and showcasing what many of us want to read about... life.

The two characters had a great marriage, a great life, two great kids, everything they could have ever wanted, or so they thought. The two deal with the ups and down of marriage and life, and learn what is truly important to have forever. I was hooked from the very beginning

I loved this book. It evoked every emotion possible. As a continuation of the first novel "To Live Again", we are brought into the life struggles of Jaysen and Chloe. I have not read a book in recent memory where the characters were so relatable as these. They have all the failings and emotional honesty of every day life. Chloe is still dealing with her tragic past and unfortunately the present for her and Jaysen isn't as smooth sailing as the readers hope it will be. Jasen is trying to finish h ...more

I was so excited see a novella from this author featuring the characters that I fell in love with in her first book To Live Again. Jayson and Chloe are going through things similar to what many of us have or will. Their story is so real. You feel their love. You feel their happiness and when they have heartbreaking moments, you feel their pain. I can’t say enough about how much I enjoy reading this authors books.

An everlasting love ? Or not ?

After a fairy tale romance we enter back into Chloe and Jayson's lives when life is about to throw them a few curve balls.
Can love conquer all ?

This is at times an extremely emotional read ! But hold on for the ride !
Another great dip into the Reece family, can't wait for Connors book.

The growth in the author's abilities between these two books is astounding. The writing was much more fluid and better developed in this novel, which made it much more enjoyable to read. The timeline was better paced and the focus on was more on relationships and emotions in this one than on physicality. All of these factors made the story infinitely more successful than the first (in my mind, at least). In fact, I found myself disappointed that this story was not longer. Because the characters' ...more

Heart and emotions to spare!

Jayson and Chloe are back in another emotion-filled, drama-fueled story that dropped right back into their intense relationship. After all the tribulations of their rocky courtship I’d hoped the really hard part was behind them. I know marriage is hard work but mistrust was going to break doubt and deeply buried uncertainty wide open…

It is nine years and twin boys later that Jayson and Chloe realize their history is not all in the past. Things are good, really good. S

I really enjoyed this peak into Jayson & Chloe's life 9 years later. The author had a way of making you FEEL the story from painful loss to deep felt joy, shows you that there is strength to make it through; especially with the support of GREAT family. Life is real, there are choices that have to be made for our careers and family, not all of them are fun or easy ~ we see that this holds true for Jayson in this story. It was awesome to catch up with Jayson and Chloe. They have two kids and have been together 9 years and are struggling. They are real and have to try to re-spark their relationship. They both work on themselves and I loved that everything wasn't perfect. Chloe still has issues to work on, and she does. There was also great comedic relief. Many scenes made me laugh and smile. I greatly enjoyed reading Jayson and Chloe's ever after. I can't wait for more in the series!!
