It should be the perfect wedding day . . . But has Gwen’s groom got cold feet and will he make it through the snow in time?

Well, apparently this is the sequel of 'The Green Hills of Home', and honestly I had no idea of this when I downloaded. But despite not reading the first part, Ms Bennet introduces us to her characters at the very beginning and explains the plot of 'The Green Hills of Home' which I assume contains lots of spoilers.

The good thing about this read was that it was rather short and quick, very light and tiny bit festive

Really enjoyed this story and the suspense of wondering if the wedding would go ahead. some great characters and great descriptions of snowy Wales.

You’ll probably remember that I quickly became a fan of Emma Bennet on reading I Need A Hero. I have recently devoured His Secret Daughter (review to come) and so when I saw this FREE on Amazon I was tres excited! I’m afraid one book I haven’t got to is The Green Hills of Home, which comes before this but it’s a given that I’ll be heading there very soon (it worked fine as a standalone but once you read this you’ll be wanting to head back to it so maybe get that first!).

From the start I was take

I found the writing clunky - all 'telling' rather than 'showing' but the thing that irked me the most was the utter selfishness and sheer idiocy of having a wedding in a tiny Welsh village at 5 pm on Christmas Eve! Yes, very romantic for the bride and groom but a logistical nightmare for anyone who had any distance to travel! The ending was way too predictable. ...more

Having only recently discovered Emma Bennet's books I jumped at the chance to read a Christmas novella not realising that it was a follow on to The Green Hills of Home, however it works well enough as a stand alone and there is a summary of the novel at the beginning if you want a bit of history before reading. This is a lovely little novella which is perfect for Christmas time or even winter as the snow is a significant feature in the story (obviously!). Gwen is determined to get married on Chr ...more

I really liked this book. Snowed in for her Wedding is a sequel to The Green Hills of Home. I have not read that book, but I found that I was not lost reading this book, therefore I would state that this book could be read as a stand-a-lone.
Ms. Bennett provided well developed characters, Gwen and John, whom are getting married on Christmas Eve. John spend part of the week in London for work and Gwen lives in Wales. The stress of being apart and p

Snowed In For her Wedding a feel good Christmas romance by Emma Bennett was a fun to read novella. This book is a sequel to The Green Hills of Home, I have not read that book yet. But I plan on reading it soon.
I really liked this book because it is themed around Christmas, and a wedding on Christmas Eve. The characters Gwen and John can’t wait to get married, but John lives and works in London and Gwen lives in Wales. The wedding is to take place in Wales and they don’t normally get much snow t

Christmas is coming to the little Welsh town of Tonnadulais, and the much-loved characters from ‘The Green Hills of Home.’ But this year it’s somewhat overshadowed by a rather special wedding taking place on Christmas Eve.
Local girl Gwen Jones is finally marrying her man, London publisher John Thatcher, and she couldn’t be happier. Though as her friends and beloved mother help her prepare for the big day, Gwen can’t suppress the little nagging doubt that John shouldn’t still be stuck working in

Thank you Netgalley for providing the book
When I downloaded it, I didn't know it was a sequel, but the author was kind enough to give a synopsis at the beginning. It made be able to follow the story without any problems. Maybe it was a bit too simple and adding an extra element could have made it more interesting.
It was nice, but I think it would have meant more if I had known it was the sequel and I had read the first book first.

I just loved this. It shows it doesn't matter how, when or where you are married, just that you are marrying the right one.....

The continuation of The Green Hills of home. The perfect ending to a wonderful story. Miss Bennett certainly knows how to write a wonderful love story. Great read.

Very short book but easy to read when you have an hour or so spare. A bit predictable but still enjoyed it.

Review originally posted on my blog:

I have never read anything by Emma Bennet before but when I was offered the chance to read and review Snowed in for Wedding, I couldn’t refuse. I love a Christmas story and when Christmas is combined with a wedding I tend to find them irresistible!

Snowed in for her Wedding is a sequel to Green hills of home but Emma gives a recap at start, which makes this novella work as a standalone.

Gwen is due to marry John on Christmas Eve

Though Snowed in for Her Wedding is a sequel story for The Green Hills of Home, you most definitely can enjoy it as a stand alone story. Though getting snowed in on your wedding day could be truly disastrous, Gwen and John are still able to have their special day, even though it was much different than what they had planned. And though it may not have been the point- I appreciate that the couple clearly cared more about their upcoming marriage rather than their wedding. I don't want to give anyt ...more

Winter Wonderland Wedding

Having not read the first book I was a little lose but the readers note does help get you caught up. I enjoyed this book with all the trials and bumps on trying to plan a Christmas Eve Wedding. Gwen has all the pre-wedding jitters and she trays to not let them show. John is the secretive one that doesn't realize he is feeding into Gwen's fears. He wants to be a fulltime husband and if he just says one thing then all would be well. Their trials make for a beautiful white

I want to thank NetGalley, EMMA BENNET, and
Joffe Books for an advance copy.

This is a cute fun short story. There is a book before this-which I think would be in your best interest to read first. There seemed to be no trust-or maybe it was pre marriage jitters. They hide things from each other instead of getting them out in the open. Since it is a short story there is not much character development but I think you are supposed to already know the characters from the previous book. It has a nice
Received from NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

This would have been a very satisfying book, if I had read the first one in the series. It's definitely NOT a standalone, which I wasn't aware of when I requested the book. That being said, it's the payoff to what seems like a sweet romance, with a good dose of small town Welsh life thrown in for good measure. I say "seems like," because there's not a lot of characterization or exploration of the h and H's love story in this book.

This was a short read, however I could not help but feel like I was walking into the middle of a story.

Gwen Jones and John Thatcher are getting married, but between last minute emergencies at work and a snowstorm things are looking crazy.

The whole story takes place in the space of 24-hours with pre-wedding jitters and catastrophes popping up at every corner to the point where it was amusing, just not "awww".

Rating 3 out of 5
Unfortunately, I didn't care for this at all. I didn't like the writing style and the story just didn't get me interested enough to finish it. The writing was over the top with telling and explaining, rather than showing and leading us to an understanding. The excessive use of exclamation points started to get a bit annoying because it didn't make for a smooth, non stop read.
Snowed in For Her Wedding wasn't for me. I dnf and I really hate to dnf anything. 1 star.

this is a quick read about a couple who is excited for their wedding but has a nasty turn when the weather turns south. however the cute little town they live in pictures together and pulled the wedding off. There's really not a lot of back story you don't know pretty much anything about the characters because it is such a short story. However it is a cute romance read. ...more

This is a short novella, therefore I read it very, very quickly. The story is a continuation of 'The Green Hills of Home'. It continues the love story of Gwen Jones, author and John Thatcher, publisher. Telling the story of the problems, uncertainty and mishaps in the run up to their Christmas day wedding. It would have been a lot better to have added this book to the end of the original. ...more

"Snowed In For Her Wedding" by Emma Bennet is the sequel to "The Green Hills of Home". This is a quick and simple read about Gwen and John's wedding. I recommend reading "The Green Hills of Home" first. I did enjoy the scenery descriptions in the book. It was just okay for me.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley/Joffe Books, for an honest review.
