How can someone so smokin’ hot be so bad in bed? I mean, Sean Cassidy is absolute rubbish. RUBBISH. He is the epitome of walking, talking false advertising and I want a refund! Plus he’s an arsehole. So… what is wrong with me that I can’t stop thinking about him?

Lucy Fitzpatrick doesn’t like rugby.

It's like the author completely undid the couple's HEA which is sad and annoying. No mention of the dog they adopted, the fact they got engaged and that he was moving to the US.

It feels like the epilogue was ignored in order to write book 3 and have Sean in Ireland and involved in his cousin's life.

This was my favorite book and couple in the series and I'm completely bummed that the HEA was taken away.(less)

I started this one in spring of 2016...and just now finished it last night.
Don't ask me why it took so long, I have not a clue.

Regardless, I didn't love this nearly as much as I loved Hooker...but, then again, they can't all be top shelf.

Already started Co-ed though (finally!) and liking it well enough so far...

It's official: LH Cosway and Penny Reid are a perfect writing team. Everyone knows I'm a huge fan of both writers' books, but what some might not know is I first discovered them when I picked up "The Hooker and the Hermit". Once I read that, I knew I had to read more from them and I started to devour everything they've written as individual authors. The second book in the Rugby Series "The Player and the Pixie" lives up to its predecessor. It's funny, it's emotional, it's sexy and it has my favo ...more

I couldn't have possibly enjoyed this book more, even if I tried. Reading this story was the equivalent of book heaven for me. It was as good as if I had been on the beaches of Bora-Bora, drinking pink champagne and strawberries, while Brad Pitt (Legends of The Falls, version) was feeding me Nutella, YES! THAT GOOD!!!!

Once again, Penny Reid and L.H. Cosway co-wrote a book and they KILLED IT! I thought The Hooker and the Hermit was a great book, I really did- but this book? This book was PERFECT for me. When I started it the other night, I had every intention of reading a few chapters then going to bed and finishing it the next night. It was a work night, so I knew I shouldn’t stay up too late. Once I started reading, that flew out the window because I couldn’t put it down! It brings me so much jo

I am sitting here trying to figure out how to review this delight...Do I go deep and address the humanity of it all and how these two characters had these things to overcome... and by the grace of Lucy's goodness she was able to see clearly the little boy lost in Sean...and with her grace... he was able to see clearly the beauty of her and fight to make her see it herself...

So, I’ve had a hard time trying to write a review for this book. Not because I didn’t like it, in fact it’s the complete opposite. I am flabbergasted by how much I loved this book. I’m a fan of both authors of this book, and I enjoyed The Hooker and the Hermit, so when I fell in love with this book, it hit me harder than expected.

The Player and the Pixie is the story of Lucy, Ronan’s sister, and Sean the wretched member of Ronan’s rugby team. Lucy is a fre

Penny Reid and L.H. Cosway are the ultimate dream team when it comes to co-writing romance. They showed their excellence in The Hooker and the Hermit, their first collaboration and the first in this Rugby series. With this next installment, they've proven again that their writing compliments each other flawlessly. Both with a quirky fla
The Player and the Pixie was utterly and completely swoon worthy. It’s a wonderful blend of sweet, sass and sexiness. Lucy and Sean are perfect together and the story of how the meet, help each other and fall in love is delightful.

Was quite bored for most of this. Didn't really care for either character. Even the "Irish" theme did nothing for me.

The rugby players were portrayed as millionaires. Don't think Irish rugby is that profitable. I could be wrong.

Pity really, as I enjoyed the first book in the series. Ah, well, our tastes change and evolve over time. I think I need my characters in books to be slightly older.

I love assholes. Not actual assholes. Asshole men. But only in books. Asshole men in real life trigger my 'junk punch' reflex. Anyway, fictional male assholes - I love them. And thus, I loved Sean. Even though he was a fumbling, pre-ejaculating, brute.

Imagined my surprise when this book came out! I never expected to see Ronan's sister, Lucy Fitzpatrick got her own story. Another surprise was Sean Cassidy. Yes, he will be the 'hero' for Lucy. A bit recap from previous book, Ronan's ex-fiancee cheated on Sean and I couldn't see anything to redeem this bastard until this book proved me wrong.

Once again L.H Cosway and Penny Reid deliver a book that I, simply just could not put down. The Player and the Pixie is everything that I want my romantic reading to be in that it offered, likeable characters (even the un-likeable ones), a unique story-line, and some really unforgettable moments along the way.

If you read The Hooker and the Hermit then you know exactly who Sean Cassidy and Lucy Fitzpatrick are, and you’ll know exactly why their pot

Penny Reid and L. H. Cosway have blown me away, again! 'The Player and the Pixie' is the second book in the Rugby series and I never thought I could love the follow-up as much as I loved the first, but much to my surprise, I did.

We’d been in each other’s orbit for a week, so why did it feel like the end of something vital? Why did my bones ache at the thought of not being able to speak with her, touch her, or see her? Why did I become absurdly furious whenever I thought of her with someone else?

The dynamic duo that is L.H. Cosway & Penny Reid are back at it again with the hilariously-sweet and sexy, The Player and the Pixie.

Sean Cassidy is the cold and uninviting rugby playing team mate to Lucy Fitzpatrick's brother. His brutish reputation precedes him and she is more than happy to avoid him, that is, until their paths cross and she's left confused by how much she is drawn to him.

I am in between 3 and 4 stars actually. I do love the banter. The push and pull between Sean and Luci is just..... fun, cute and slaying! It sets the tone for their chemistry. However it does not followed up by deeper/vulnerable connection between those two.

The smutty part, I feel it can be execited more better and not just one sided where Sean insisting on making move toward Luci. I want Luci to make more active moves toward Sean too.

The plot and story is good. I overall, enjoy this book very

This was a refreshing read for me. The H in this story, Sean Cassidy, had an unexpected and interesting storyline. Imagine a male lead in a romance story being RUBBISH in the sheets! Whaaaaat?! Maybe a turn off in real life, but on the pages of The Player and the Pixie, I really enjoyed him! He's stuffy and snobby and could use a swift kick in his perfect bubble butt.

Alright ya'll this was not what I expected (in a good way). After The Hooker and The Hermit I pretty much resigned myself to thinking Sean was an irredeemable jerk. After reading this, some of the things he did made a lot more sense to me. Not to say that it excuses his actions back then, but dude has a lot more going on that meets the eye. As they say, we are a product of a combinations of things that include environment and experiences. Lucy is the sister to Sean's enemy and the cute pixie end ...more

It is no secret that I have always enjoyed reading books by Penny Reid and L.H. Cosway either independently or collectively. Penny’s writing gives me a certain sense of comfort along with her trademark wit and creativity and L.H. Cosway's writing gives me a sense of genuineness and warmth. They complement each other in a way that provides for something unique.

The whole time I was reading this book, one word came to mind... sweet ! Sean and Lucy are just really sweet together, Sean especially with regards to how he went after Lucy!

And I really liked how Lucy "changed" him...not just sexually (OMG those scenes were sooo hilarious) but how she affected him and made him see things a different way. It really helped that she took the time to really get to know him.

The narrators do a fantastic job, but I'll be honest, I think the female narrator was the better of the two. Her voice is very easy to listen to and quite soothing. Her American accent wasn't fantastic (I'll laugh myself silly if I find out she's American) but her Irish accent was beautiful. I could easily listen to her narrations ov

This book defies all logic and beats all sensible thoughts out of me.
I mean a sexy hunk of a hero with vulnerability of a child? That shouldn't be a turn on? Right? Wrong? It is the sexiest thing when he's vulnerable because he cares and he voices out his vulnerability and asks for help. Asks to be taught! That there, has to be the sexiest thing ever!

This series is a ton of fun! I love the writing duo of L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid. In the last book, The Hooker and The Hermit, I could tell which author wrote what, but here, I was scratching my head...hmmm? I love this series, hot ruggers with issues and big hearts= perfect reading fun for this girl. So there is a girl who has issues with her family, and there is this man who has issues with his family, they meet, the tumble, and rumble in the sheets.
