Very informative and helpful!

So much more logical and helpful another popular curly girl method book. Ms. Taylor’s book does not assume that every person with type 2B curls has a particular group of hair traits, and that a type 4A’s hair has completely different characteristics. Her categorization, which is much less rigid and allows for possible overlap, is for hair properties. We know how our hair behaves, so this method is much more likely to be accurate, if we are realistic.
No products are promoted. Good and bad ingredients are discussed, as are the reasons for those categorization.
A very good, very useful book.

Curly hair praise!

I am not sure what I expected but much of this book was a bit too much of a beauty/salon school set of classes for ME. If you want the bio and the chemical knowledge that hair and products have then this would be a fantastic place to start. It’s easy to read but I found myself skipping over much of the scientific details. I also confess I wanted more pictures. I think I may have come across the wrong book for what I was looking for...

The curly community can be pretty intense—extreme, even. What I liked about this book is that it's none of those things. It gives accurate information without making you feel guilty for things like hair dye or the occasional straightening.
I also liked the different suggestions for the different types of hair, the biochemistry notions, the ingredients chapter. And the one (1) rule: you should do what works best for you. Simple as that.

Great go to for understanding curly hair!

After my 15 year curly hair journey, I finally get the facts I need to feel sure of what I'm doing to my hair and understand it's daily moods. Like its behavior living tropical island like me or when I travel to cold dry weathers. It's overall a good and very educational read.

Great Book

I was looking for some help with my hair, as I have grown tired of blow drying with a round brush, or using a flat iron twice a week. I did the big chop, and hopefully with this advice I'll never have to use one again, and I can enjoy my curly hair

Finishing touches I needed

I’ve been following the Curly method for a few years and been fairly happy with my hair. This book gave me the finished touches I was missing. I have a great curly stylist salon so am lucky there. Highly recommend this book Live Curly, Love Free.
