Free At Last is an excellent resource for those who are interested in learning about slavery beginning with Abraham Lincoln to the Thirteenth Amendment.
I truly enjoyed reading the letters from slaves arguing why they and their families should be free and allowed to remain together as family.
I pitied those who argued to keep slavery in tact.
Free At Last is not a single author’s opinion but mostly a collection of letters from private citizens and politicians.
Free At Last is a must read.
