Jason Thorn… My brother’s childhood friend.

Oh, how stupidly in love with that boy I was. He was the first boy that made me blush, my first official crush. Sounds beautiful so far, right? That excitement that bubbles up inside you, those famous butterflies you feel for the very first time—he was the reason for them all. But, you only get to live in that fairytale world un

The original release date was supposed to be mid November, but because of some health issues in my family, I had to push back the date for a few weeks. I'm planning on announcing the exact release day on my FB page in a few days, but it will most likely be the first week of December.

“She was seeing me, and maybe for the first time, I was seeing her too.”

Olive wrote a romance novel inspired by her childhood crush on a boy named Jason Thorn. Well, now he's a hot movie actor who will star in a movie based on that exact book. They haven't seen each other in seven years and things get interesting when they meet again.

➦I listened to an audio book version of this and it was sexy and fun. Having Sebastian York as a narrator certainly didn't hurt *wink wink* :) The dial

I didn’t expect to like this story as much as I did. It started out cute then felt like it was going to be the typical same old, when the hero was presented being a typical manwhore in an alley in the present. However, somewhere along the way I fell in love with both main characters and started to really enjoy the story. I found the writing solid, sweet, and overall a good roman

"You've been the best kind of heartache, Jason Thorn."

A love story about a Hollywood star and a romance author? Oh, hello my weak spots!

The blurb of To Love Jason Thorn was the one that got my attention. I love Hollywood romance, more so when it talks about hot, swoon-worthy actors who fall in love with ordinary women. Tropes like this are my undoing.

Olive Taylor and Jason Thorn have known each other since they were kids. Growing up, Olive developed an infatuation with Jason.

Jason and Olive meet as kids and Olive falls for her brother's bestie hard. Her crush grows and grows until an event in her teen years where Jason breaks her heart. She pulls away from their friendship and they don't get the chance to repair it before Jason has to move away. Years later, they reunite and an attraction builds to more as they get to know eachother once again. I've got to say, as sexy as Jason was, he was not as easy to love as Adam was (Hero of book two... I read out of order). He ...more

aye aye too much cheese makes me want to sneeze. please no, thank you!!

🎬 so cute and so cloyingly romantic that sometimes the dialogues sounded really corny and awkward. the writing was overly simplistic, which really didnt help bcs i kept wanting to scrunch up my nose and roll my eyes every two seconds.

🎬 the "falling for brother's best friend" element was interesting, but i didnt like how hard the heroine was crushing on the guy. every time they had an interaction, she

This was one of the cheesiest books I have ever read. It plays out like a Disney Channel Movie and I am too grown for that shit.

There is zero chance that I would ever, ever, ever recommend this book to anyone.

If you want my advice, I say to keep it moving.

I'm pretty sure there's a cute story in here, but I'm unwilling to put up with the extremely poor writing to find out for sure. The writing is very simplistic and the dialogue is stilted and awkward. I just can't.

ALSO -- Pet peeve: Look, if you're going to do a portion of your book with a first-person POV of a child, either commit to it or change it so that it's the narrator reminiscing about her childhood & telling the scenes as such. Don't give me some cutsey "I'm a 6-year old!" voice telling

Another new to me author that I can't wait to read more of. Once again I picked up a book based on the cover and went into it blind. It was one of those feel good reads that had me from the start.

"This was our story from the very beginning, little one."

Olive Taylor is an indie author who has just written her first book. She's even talking to people about making it into a movie. This is all a bit exciting and overwhelming for her, but when they brought out actor who they wanted to cast as the le

Well, this can be regarded as a cute, sweet, romantic and hot story but somewhere somehow I lost my interest in it. Mainly, I couldn't relate to the characters and maybe that is why, the story didn't affect my heart that much...

Firstly, I think I was annoyed with the hero, Jason, for losing touch with his best friend and the family who loved him dearly and I was never able to forgive him.

Secondly, when they met after so many years, our girl, Olive acted cold and distant towards Jason and she wa

I'm on a Hollywood romance kick and just inhaled this one. Perfect old school indie goodness. Jason Thorn is book boyfriend gold, but I really loved Olive. I've read several books with an author heroine, but this is the first time someone has captured exactly what it felt/feels like for me. Yes, I'm in love with my characters! Yes, I'd want to be on set! Yes, I'd want that call sheet! Yes, I cry when I write! Yes, yes, yes! Talk about romance writer fantasy. Write your perfect romance, get optio ...more

Since childhood, Olive Taylor have a huge crush on her brother's best friend, Jason Thorn. It went on for years until she's fallen for him but the feeling isn't mutual. She secretly texts him but when she got his message, she experienced her first heartbreak. When Jason's mother passed away from overdose, he left their neighbourhood and resided with his father in LA. Years gone by and they'

I love a story that starts when the two MC's are just children and so I was hooked as soon as I read the first chapter and I loved Olive from the second she asked 10 year old Jason to marry her.

By the way, how adorable is the name: Olive Taylor!?! Best heroine name this year!!

This was such a fun, cute, adorable and steamy read. A definite must for those who need a break from angst and drama, instead wanting to indulge in a l

I acquired this on a chance and I don't regret it, though the steam was way outside my tolerance. Mostly this is because I liked Olivia so much. Her background doesn't really work terribly well, as developing a lasting crush at age six is a stretch (even if the author changes it to eight in later chapters). Okay, everything about her background doesn't really hang together terribly well. Best-selling author whose first novel gets picked up for a movie that isn't just optioned, but actually put i ...more

Wow the reading slump I'm in rn is so real.

I don't want to say this was bad because that feels very disingenuous, but I just wanted to like this so much more. Like when I had 1 hour left in the audiobook, I literally thought to myself "wait who's Olive". Olive is the main character. I think I should know that.

The biggest problem I had with this was that nothing happened that wasn't in the synopsis until about halfway through the book. I do love a good trope, but there needs to be s
Olive has loved Jason Thorn since she was 7 years old. He was all she dreamed of and could ever want until he broke her 14 year old heart. To Jason, Olive was the sister of his best friend and the daughter of the couple that took him in when life was complicated. Years later they are reunited by their work – her a writer, him an actor. Olive immediately feels all the emotions she has ever had for her brother’s friend but is fighting against it. After all, he’s not a one woman man and he could ne ...more

Just the right amount of "feel goods" along with a huge amount of hot encounters that are sure to scorch your eyeballs! Loved both Jason, the dimpled Hollywood heart throb and Olive, the NYT Best Selling author whose romance book is about to hit the big screen. And this is where she once again encounters her childhood crush and the boy she has never forgotten. This is the first book I’ve ever read from this author and what a pleasant surprise it was! To Love Jason Thorn is a mixture of humor, romance, hotness and love!

Olive has known Jason since she was seven years old. He was her first love, the first boy she ever wanted, but she was just a little kid to him.

Ella Maise is becoming a one click, don’t even ask questions author for me. I love everything she writes and this book was no different.

Jason Thorn… My brother’s childhood friend.

I’m beginning to love this topic. I think it’s actually taking over the step sibling craze.

When Olive was the ripe age of six years old, almost seven she was introduced to her new next door neighbor. Jason Thorn. Their first meeting was actually very typical for a six year old. She professed h

This was a cute, sweet and light-hearted read with a few angsty moments thrown in that made it more emotional and real. I loved Olive! She was a great heroine, my favourite kind, really. She was just a loyal, funny and honest woman who proved why she was special. I can't stand heroines who you're told are amazing but as a reader, you can't really see it. With Olive, I did see it and I loved her character.

“Surprisingly, you’ve been the best kind of heartache, Jason Thorn.”

This was one of those cute, funny, make you feel good reads and I wasn’t disappointed. I came across To Love Jason Thorn as a result of a trawl through Amazon, it was the cover that drew me at first and then once I had read the synopsis I was all in. I love a second chance romance and even though this wasn’t second chance per se, it was definitely second chance for Olive.

Such a cute story that had me sitting at the edge of my seat, holding on with white knuckles to survive the immense heat and swoon-worthy romance between Jason and Olive. And don’t get me started on them, I fear I wouldn’t be able to stop soon enough. I loved Olive the most, second place goes to Lucy, and third to Jason. But each and every main and secondary character had its own solid presence, in the way that regardless of the length of their role in the book, they had memorable parts to play, ...more
