As the title suggests, this book is for readers from non finance background. Beyond savings and investing basics, it introduces readers to range of relevant concepts as fundamentals of financial statements, assets and liabilities, ratios analysis, etc. Written in everyday simple language with stories from day to day life along with self assessment exercises, I think Vishal Thakkar has done a great job. In India, with population of over a billion, a very small percentage are financially literate. And as the book clarifies, 95% of cash is put into savings and just about 5% into investing. This book could bridge the gap.
Good book with easy explaination of the concepts to manage day to day finance. In the last important ratios related to companies could have been better explained with examples but I believe author has rushed through it to keep book small and simple. Nevertheless good book for beginners.
