Henri Bergson (1859-1941) is one of the truly great philosophers of the Modernist period, and there is currently a major renaissance of interest in his unduly neglected texts and ideas amongst philosophers, literary theorists, and social theorists.
Mind-Energy is a collection of essays and lectures from the period 1901-13 and has long been out of print. It features essays o

I have to read it for my philosophy class, so I was obliged to read it. It was interesting, I can't say other, but it is boring when you don't want to read it, and have no other choice but to do...
But I will probably re-read it in a few years, when I'll be more mature, and have lived more experiences..
the gift
henri bergson is a lot easier to read than deleuze, but whether easier to understand… as a series of essays, some are very good and some less, but the idea of lived experience is certainly in genesis in a few that seem more psychology than philosophy. essays on intellectual work, on the self-contradictions of realism and idealism, are very good. the one on dreams less...

What's great with a thinker like Bergson, you don't have to agree with him to enjoy his writing!
Christine Cordula Dantas

Henri Bergson was one of the most famous and influential French philosophers of the late 19th century-early 20th century. Although his international fame reached cult-like heights during his lifetime, his influence decreased notably after the second World War. While such French thinkers as Merleau-Ponty, Sartre, and Lévinas explicitly acknowledged his influence on their thought, it is generally ag ...more
